I find the interface very friendly and easy to use. If I make a mistake, correcting it is effortless. Getting help when needed is simple and the support team is genuinely approachable and helpful.
Cons
When I brought someone back on board, the platform didn't resend their paperwork automatically. It's a small annoyance, but since you asked for feedback on improvements, that's one area I'd change.

“Great for basics & need more flexibility
Pros
For me, the navigation is remarkably smooth and really easy to use across the whole platform. The pricing structure fits within our budget and doesn't feel like it's pushing costs higher. I find the customer support team answers quickly and they're genuinely helpful most of the time when I reach out. New hires usually pick it up fast . I also appreciate the mineral access feature, it's a thoughtful bonus that brings extra value to the product.
Cons
I wish the time-off policies were more flexible, right now I'd prefer anniversary-based renewal dates for each employee rather than having everyone renew on the same date. We've found the benefits integration to be a real pain . I say this because we tried several times to use Gusto for benefits but there's always some snag, especially since we're a larger group and want to keep our existing benefits agent. Customizing reports can also be frustrating at times, I can't recall every single scenario but we've hit situations where report customization was cumbersome and forced us to use workarounds, costing extra time to sort out. Overall, these issues have been the biggest sources of friction for us.

Pros
Honestly what I value most is how smoothly it handles state and federal filing and payment processing. I've rarely faced any problems with those features.
Cons
i am disappointed that the third-party integrations aren't great and it annoys me there isn't a client scheduling tool, adding that would finally turn this into a complete, all-in-one employee management system.

Personally, the layout feels very easy and keeps things simple so I don't get lost. I really like the little tips sprinkled throughout and their tax guidance section explains complex topics in an easy-to-follow way. When I need to add new employees, it's quick and painless.
Cons
After they pushed an update a while back, I ran into some irritating bugs that disrupted my workflow. It took me a few weeks of troubleshooting and waiting for fixes before everything ran smoothly again but thankfully the issues are resolved now.

I can pull up reports and find the information I need quickly without jumping through hoops. What I really value is how much it lightens my workload, which is exactly what I need running a small business.
Cons
Occasionally I have to tinker a bit before I can generate the exact report I'm looking for. On one occasion when I reached out about a tax filing question, the help desk wasn't very helpful.

I find the interface very user-friendly and I really value the wide range of options available to correct payroll errors or to dig into troubleshooting problems. Also, the connection with Xero integrates flawlessly with our accounting workflows.

“Set up fast, still great years later
Pros
Getting started was simple and didn't take much time. The new Excel-style payroll layout feels like a major upgrade compared to the old system. Whenever I reach out for support, the customer service team replies fairly quickly. Having tried a number of other payroll vendors, I'm genuinely pleased with this choice.
Cons
There isn't anything I can complain about after about two to three years of use.

I've found the support system fantastic, whenever I need assistance the in-app chat connects me with someone who actually understands the product, explains things clearly and gets issues resolved quickly and efficiently.
Cons
The contractor payments interface can be really frustrating to use, I've lost payroll entries more than once after the back button was accidentally tapped or even triggered by a gesture which forced me to rebuild everything from scratch. It's especially annoying because there's no clear undo or recovery when that happens. Another pain point is the employer notes field on each paycheck . the editing window is too small so I can barely read the full note or make edits comfortably. These feel like small usability problems that a redesign could fix without much trouble and despite them I still recommend and use this software because its strengths far outweigh these nuisances.

For someone like me who gets overwhelmed by payroll and taxes, It has been a real lifesaver. It made the entire workflow so much easier, and their support team actually checks in to see how things are going. I really value that they take care of the complex stuff so I can concentrate on running my business.
Cons
Can't think of any major issues. If I had to suggest something, adding a time clock and team scheduling tools would be helpful, although the additional price they charge for those is quite high.

Honestly, I find the whole system very user-friendly, even though I don't have much of a background in accounting or payroll. Their customer support team has come through for me whenever I needed help and the website walks you through each step in a clear, approachable way. The QuickBooks integration simplifies booking payroll, so I don't have to wrestle with manual entries. Automatic 401(k) contribution submissions handled through Guideline remove another task from my to-do list. Before switching to It I relied on an accountant for payroll but since I started managing it myself here it's noticeably faster and less complicated than the old process. My team receives direct deposits reliably, can clock in and out with the time tracking tool and accesses paystubs and upcoming pay right from the app.
Cons
Finding decent healthcare benefit options that don't break the bank was really tough for me . there simply weren't many affordable, integrated choices available for my small team.

It makes it really simple for me to look up my pay information and to adjust benefits or deductions whenever I need to.
Cons
Transfers from the app to my external bank accounts take about three business days, which is annoying when I'm counting on the money sooner, I wish they offered instant transfers by default. On the bright side, I did find out you can get immediate transfers if you use their Gusto debit card but I would still prefer quicker options for standard bank transfers.
