aligns payroll and time management perfectly

Pros

I really like how simple the onboarding process feels, everything's kept in one convenient spot so I can take care of benefits like health insurance and 401(k) setup without bouncing between different platforms. When I have HR questions they're answered plainly and quickly, the interface is easy to use and the support team has been fantastic whenever I've needed assistance.

Cons

Would really appreciate if my account could connect directly to 401k providers . that's the one integration I wish this had available.

Best for state taxes

Pros

For me, handling payroll and setting up state withholdings with It is pretty simple. I find the payroll processing itself simple and it doesn't give me any headaches.

Cons

I haven't really explored the extra services like benefits that they offer, so I can't really say anything about their quality.

A complete game-changer

Pros

Honestly the site is incredibly simple and easy to use. My organization moved away from Paychex last December and the difference has been night and day in both look and usability. I find the customer support team much easier to reach and truly helpful and I appreciate the clear, upfront regular email reminders and notifications.

Cons

So far I haven't faced any issues with it.

Frees me to focus on my clients

Pros

Gusto lets me zero in on what truly matters, my clients and my team. Instead of getting buried in admin tasks, I'm able to focus on the bigger things like networking, client meetings and mentoring my team to do the same. It takes care of all the dull details . HR paperwork, time tracking and ensuring payroll runs smoothly and accurately every time.

Cons

There were a few bumps when I first set up my account, which was a bit frustrating initially. Having dealt with a major Gusto competitor before, those hiccups seemed fairly minor in comparison. On top of that, I've consistently received excellent customer support whenever I needed help which felt surprisingly reassuring after those early troubleshooting moments.

Simple with frustrating searches

Pros

It has become a lot easier thanks to the automatic reminders . I no longer miss deadlines. I also find it simple to update employee information whenever there are changes.

Cons

I find tracking down specific tasks inside an employee's job details pretty difficult, the search feature there definitely needs some improvement.

Fastest setup I've ever seen

Pros

Using this felt very easy to use and get and our initial payroll run took me about 5 minutes to finish. The setup itself was by far the fastest, least painful implementation I have ever done with any software.

Cons

I can't allocate an employee's payroll to multiple departments, although the other advantages compensate for it.

Quick but confusing math

Pros

Once I got the hang of it, this payroll app runs fast and feels really simple to use.

Cons

I've noticed that working backwards from net to gross is fairly challenging, several of the formulas become confusing and aren't as clear as I'd prefer in places.

Reliable and flexible pay

Pros

Lots of great tools with slow support

Pros

I'm really impressed with how approachable it is for our small business. The layout feels natural and my team actually likes using it which says a lot about its design. At the price, the mid-tier subscription delivers a surprising breadth of tools, things like employee surveys, performance monitoring, centralized company document storage and a host of other capabilities are included. Reporting is simple to use, and I especially value the ability to create custom reports with the report-builder feature. What stands out most for me is the built-in brokerage option for simpler benefits plans . it cuts down on administrative overhead and has saved us a great deal of time.

Cons

Getting help when issues pop up has been a sore spot. While they have a large knowledge base full of articles, actually connecting with someone over email support often takes far too long. I feel like the mid-tier level should include a dedicated account rep to avoid those delays. On top of that, the tax configuration hasn't been synchronizing correctly with filing deadlines recently and that's caused unnecessary stress. Small companies like mine can't afford to spend time tracking down tax sync problems . I need the vendor to be more proactive and hands-on when it comes to resolving these kinds of things.

Simple for small teams

Pros

Payroll processing here is so simple and I can wrap up everything in less than five minutes. Most of the features come across as simple and easy to use. I'm genuinely pleased with how this tool performs overall.

Cons

As a small business, we don't employ enough full-time people for health insurance eligibility. I wish the qualifying criteria were adjusted downward so tiny companies like mine could access those plans.

interactive but incomplete app

Pros

The interface feels very user-friendly and I love having the mobile app on my phone. Although the mobile app doesn't include every single feature found on the web version, it makes punching in and keeping track of my hours so easy and effort-free. I would certainly recommend it to others!

Cons

I've found the mobile app lacks several features that I can access on the desktop site, which can be limiting when I try to use more advanced functions.

Easy start, then no help

Pros

When I first started using the app it felt really easy to pick up, the layout and menus are interactive, so even if you're new to this sort of software you can get going quickly.

Cons

My experience with customer support was a mess when I tried to upgrade our benefits package. I asked for something simple, adding dental and vision to our existing healthcare plan and getting the pricing but the first rep couldn't handle it and handed me off to this old-school sales guy who took days to even respond at first. After he realized we're a smaller company he basically disappeared for weeks and ignored my messages entirely. He only wrote back after I sent a fairly blunt email calling out the poor service, then admitted he couldn't actually help with dental coverage anyway. He promised to put me in touch with someone else but that was over a week ago and I still haven't heard a thing.

Reliable & accurate automation

Pros

For our small business, the automation features have been a massive time-saver when it comes to payroll. What impresses me most is the pinpoint accuracy and the way it stays on top of compliance requirements. The support team has been fantastic as well. This system has totally changed how we do payroll.it's dependable, simple to use and affordable. Now we're free to concentrate on other key parts of the business instead of getting swamped by payroll chores.

Cons

Having tried multiple payroll platforms over the years, I honestly can't think of any major drawbacks with this one.

great value and friendly support

Pros

For what I pay, this payroll service feels like an absolute steal, it works just as reliably as the more expensive options out there. The company handles every tax filing for me so I don't have to worry about any of the paperwork. And their customer support has actually been delightful, whenever I reach out someone picks up quickly and is both helpful and friendly which makes a big difference.

best choice for small companies

Pros

I find obtaining pay stubs very simple and my coworkers can easily log into their portal to view documents. It works really well for small to medium-sized companies like ours.

Pros

works well but support is slow

Pros

Getting up and running was ridiculously easy, I signed up, completed a couple quick steps and started using it immediately without any assistance or guidance whatsoever.

Cons

Signing up was simple but as soon as I started managing and administering the system I discovered I had to interact with support constantly. The support team annoyingly tends to close tickets automatically whenever they think the documentation covers the issue, leaving me frustrated when I still need real help.
