One thing I dont like about Gusto is the lack of an option to sign documents when necessary.

Ive found their support to be lacking in agility; responses can take a few days. This is an area they should improve as other platforms have better response times.

My only negative experience was when they stopped allowing borrowing against upcoming checks which was beneficial at times.

Theres not much to complain about. Direct deposits consistently arrive the next day which is a nice feature.

The support was terrible. The chat never worked and if you missed their call you had to put in a new request. They could only calculate federal withholding for simple pay plans and had issues with the calculation if pay varied between paychecks.

The user-friendliness extends to contractors setup with clear tracking and electronic issuance of 1099s at year-end.

Initially the payroll setup delays the process but after a few months next-day payroll becomes an option.

So far I havent encountered any cons. Everything is easy to find and use although its a bit expensive its definitely worth it!

Being totally new to payroll, I was pleasantly surprised by how user-friendly and clear the interface is to use, it felt natural to use from day one. I managed everything without ever feeling overwhelmed even though I had no prior experience. When issues did come up, their support team was fantastic. they'd actually call us directly and patiently walk through each problem step by step.

Cons

So far I haven't run into any problems. everything has been pretty simple to find and simple to use.

My only real problem has been converting contractors into employees . it seems you need to set up a completely new account with a different email and that doesn't always work well for how our business is structured for our operations.

Running a small business, I can't afford to tangle with complex software, so finding It felt like a relief because it's remarkably interactive. The learning curve was almost nonexistent and that alone saved me many hours that I would have otherwise spent frustrated. Whenever I hit a snag I couldn't sort out myself, customer support has been excellent, fast to reply and genuinely helpful. I also appreciate the strong integration options especially the connections to my 401k provider and QuickBooks which keep everything organized and aligned.

Cons

I do wish the system made gas mileage reimbursements easier to manage, that whole process isn't as simple as the rest of the app and could use simplification.

Using this service has made running payroll so much less complicated and I love that workers compensation insurance is included right in the plan, it's a huge convenience. The tools for onboarding new staff have genuinely simplified bringing people onboard compared to how it used to be. Having tax filings taken care of automatically is something I really appreciate . it removes a big administrative headache for me as a small business owner juggling many responsibilities. Plus, the email nudges before payroll runs are super helpful.

At the moment I don't have any complaints or features that frustrate me with this service.

My main concern is the lack of transparency around tax filings . it's tough to verify whether forms like the 940 and 941 are actually being submitted and accepted. The system keeps too much of the behind-the-scenes work hidden, and that opacity makes me nervous about remaining fully compliant.

Onboarding new hires and getting payroll configured has been unexpectedly simple with this service. I really like that I'm able to upload my own documents which gives the whole setup a more tailored feel. The interface keeps things uncluttered and easy to follow exactly what you need when handling a process that can otherwise be quite complex. Overall, tasks progress smoothly without bombarding you with pointless steps.

Cons

I accidentally created a pay schedule and I can't find any way to remove it, so I'm now forced to approve zero hours every other week. It's frustrating because I don't want the extra approvals cluttering my workflow but I haven't found a clear option to delete that schedule.
