“Helpful but confusing choices”
Pros
the customer support team is amazingly helpful and genuinely knowledgeable, whenever I need assistance during regular business hours, I can always reach someone who can help.
Cons
I'd like clearer guidance when it comes to choosing the appropriate payroll type for various scenarios, because it's not always obvious which option best fits our needs.

“Amazing results!”
Pros
Accessing everything feels effortless since the main options are all right there in the drop-down menu so our teams can find what they need without digging around. Onboarding is simple too... people can enter their own details during setup which cuts down the time spent on admin tasks. It's been just as simple to reach the features whether we're using the app on a phone or working from a desktop.
Cons
Nothing to complain about. It has been reliable for us and hasn't caused any issues.

“so good!!”
Pros
The best part of it is how simple it is to jump back in and edit a payroll after you've submitted it if something changes. The platform is also simple to use and when you need help, their support response is fast.
Cons
One limitation I hit was that it can't handle multiple local jurisdictions on a single check in order to split gross pay across the days worked. Reporting is pretty basic compared to other payroll tools and the quarterly reports tend to come out later than the usual schedule seen with competing platforms.

“PDF access to tax documents”
Pros
Having PDF files for pay stubs and tax documents is really handy. It makes it simple to download, save and share the paperwork when you need it.
Cons
The downside is that your paycheck won't show up for viewing until the deposit has completed at your bank.

“Handles many states, but fees pile up”
Pros
Managing payroll across three states used to be a nightmare for me but I find It handles everything smoothly even the tax calculations are automated and completely easy.
Cons
Even though I only run payroll for myself once a year, I'm still charged a monthly fee which feels excessive. I'd love if billing were usage-based instead. Also, I keep getting billed extra when I have employees across different states and those charges add up fast.

“solid tax forms”
Pros
It's a simple way to get paid by your employer and it also helps you keep your tax documents organized. By the end of the year, you can easily access your tax forms when you need them.
Cons
Gusto Wallet mobile app only supports W2 employees so I'm not able to log into my account from my phone. Also, how many people actually use their phone to check and manage their finances day to day?

“Excellent tool”
Pros
I really like how simple it is to pull up all my paystubs and keep my personal info updated. Adjusting the paycheck split is also quick... unlike payroll tools I've used before, where a single change could take days or even weeks to complete.
Cons
Not a fan of not being able to see my upcoming paycheck and delays happen sometimes. In other roles, I could check what was coming the day before it hit my account but it doesn't seem to offer that same visibility.

“HR automation”
Pros
Helps organize HR workflows, handling payroll, benefits administration and compliance in one place. It cuts down the manual back-and-forth and keeps everything more organized.
Cons
The pricing feels a bit steep and the support experience hasn't been great. There also seems to be occasional timing issues which can drag things out and cause delays when customers are waiting.

“great support”
Pros
The customer service has been excellent and the whole app feels really user-friendly. Getting help when needed is quick and navigation is simple enough that I didn't have to struggle to figure things out.
Cons
I'd love to see more features included without needing to upgrade my plan. Having to pay for additional functionality limits what I can do right away.

Pros
UX feels pretty simple and navigation is painless once you're in. It's easy to move around the platform without getting tangled in menus or settings.
Cons
Support didn't meet expectations, getting help from an actual rep took a lot of effort. Also, the pricing jumped up unexpectedly which was really frustrating.

“Budget-Friendly Payroll Solution”
Pros
I really value that it takes care of pay proration automatically, it saves me a ton of time. The link to state registration is super convenient, and they'll even manage the entire registration process if our company requires it. Their Customer Success reps are knowledgeable and always reply promptly whenever I need assistance. I've actually suggested this to a few other firms that have newer payroll admins because what I hear back is that employees grow much more confident and skilled when using these platforms.
Cons
One major drawback for me is that I'm accustomed to having complete freedom to make edits and corrections, yet this system imposes more limits compared with other payroll platforms I've used. That said, their support staff does fix these problems quickly whenever I contact them.

“Easy to use”
Pros
Platform feels pretty adaptive and flows well so payroll can be wrapped up in under two minutes. The new spreadsheet feature is a nice upgrade for more accurate time tracking. Also, the integration with QuickBooks is solid and makes the whole process smoother.
Cons
Visually, it feels a bit dated, the font looks stale and the color scheme is kind of boring. It could use more eye-catching step indicators to make it clearer what to do next.

“great HR and payroll workflow”
Pros
Gusto has a really user-friendly setup and it makes it simple to handle all HR and payroll tasks on time. Everything feels organized enough that I can stay on top of the work without jumping between tools.
Cons
There's also a steady push to use more of their features that we haven't adopted yet. The promotional side of it isn't something I'm particularly interested in and I could do without that advertising.

“Worth it!”
Pros
Customer service has been fantastic... Gabrielle has been really responsive and genuinely pleasant to work with. Any questions we had were handled quickly which made the whole payroll process feel a lot smoother.
Cons
The timing of direct deposit took some adjusting. With most payroll providers and banks, funds usually get released to employees' accounts once the employer's account clears which often means employees receive money earlier. With this tool, deposits don't show as cleared until the day employees are scheduled to be paid. As a result, people who used to get their checks early based on their bank no longer receive them early, they typically have to wait until the actual pay date later in the afternoon for the deposit to land.

“works well”
Pros
So simple to set the tool up... and it didn't take long to get everything running. It's also highly scalable so it fits both small setups and larger teams. I've seen it work well for a one-employee business and it holds up even when you're managing a bigger employee count.
Cons
Customer service response times aren't always consistent. Most of the time that's fine but it can get stressful when something has to be handled quickly.
