Useful vacation tracker

Pros

What I really like is that this tool balances the needs of both sides nicely. As an employee, being able to view my vacation balance is hugely helpful because I'm awful at keeping track of time off on my own. It saves me from guessing and makes planning much easier.

Cons

I never really understood the purpose of the Gusto Debit card. Maybe I was missing something but I expected it to let me access pay early or give short-term cash advances when needed. After I received the card, those options weren't available, so it felt disappointing and confusing given what I thought it would do.

Excellent payroll solution for growing businesses

Pros

I'm amazed at how well this handles payroll for our mid-sized company. When COVID hit, their turnaround on PPP loan support was impressively fast and accurate & it genuinely saved us when we were in a pinch. Bringing new hires on board is almost entirely automated now, and getting set up in additional states along with handling tax filings is smooth. The way it connects to Guideline 401(k) and our benefits plans does exactly what we expected. On top of that, the pricing is actually reasonable for what you're getting.

Cons

I've noticed their support replies have gotten slower than they used to be, even though the help we do get is still good quality. Because there's no NetSuite integration for payroll and HRIS, we're left doing a lot of tasks manually, which is really time-consuming. The way third-party app integrations are built doesn't allow me to give managers or IT delegated access, so we can't actually take advantage of the new User Account Provisioning features. It also drives me nuts that employee locations can't be deleted, our Company Addresses roster just keeps growing, and that isn't sustainable for scaling.

simple and gets me paid fast

Pros

Running my small business is so much easier thanks to this service. I find onboarding new hires really simple, and I no longer stress about whether payroll will go out on time. The biggest comfort is that compliance tasks are taken care of automatically that kind of reassurance is invaluable. Whenever I've needed help, their support team has been excellent, they respond fast and actually fix problems in a helpful way. Integrations with my other tools slot in smoothly which was exactly what I needed. Considering the cost, the range of features is outstanding, ideal for a budget-conscious small business like mine. I'm looking forward to continuing to use it as we expand.

Cons

I've been using this for more than three years at this point, and honestly I haven't faceed any significant problems that disrupt my everyday workflow.

does it all, but support is slow

Pros

It covers alot of essential business tasks that keep my company operating without hiccups. I was really impressed by the onboarding experience and the documentation, everything felt organized and simple to follow. Payroll reporting runs fast and without issue and I was able to configure CalSavers deductions while tailoring our vacation and sick-time tracking to suit our rules exactly. My staff always get their paychecks on time which helps morale. Whenever I reach out to customer support they have been very responsive and truly helpful. I use this tool every week and it consistently meets my expectations.

Cons

I've noticed customer support can be slow to respond and there have been times when it took several days to get a reply, although when they do answer, their responses are useful and address the issue.

All I need in one place

Pros

I am really grateful that I can view my paystubs, put in time-off requests and monitor my savings account all from a single place. The platform feels complete while staying easy to use. Both the website and the mobile app are user-friendly and make tasks easy. What I appreciate most is how much more comprehensive this payroll service is than other leading vendors.

Cons

I haven't faced any real problems with it. I'd gladly recommend this to any business owner and I'm truly grateful our company selected it as our payroll system!

Awesomee product so far

Pros

Having everything in one place is something I really value, pay stubs, the hours I'm available, benefits and everything else I need are all centralized. The weekly feedback surveys are terrific and I've grown to love the feature that lets me send positive vibes to coworkers. Being able to quickly tell someone they did a great job feels so simple but incredibly impactful and the weekly nudges make sure I actually use it. That kind of morale lift matters a lot to me, particularly working in veterinary care where rough shifts can really take a toll on people.

Cons

nothing negative comes to mind about it at the moment . I haven't run into any issues so far!

Efficient with better deduction options

Pros

As someone who values efficiency, It has been very interactive and the reminders are a game-changer. Setting it up was the easiest onboarding I've ever gone through even my accountant commented on how simple it was. I process payroll every week with this service and almost never have to contact support compared with my old provider, when I do reach out, their team is consistently helpful. I haven't hooked it up to other apps yet, but based on their support, I'd absolutely recommend them.

Cons

I would like more flexibility for tax deduction schedules . for example, options tailored to weekly, biweekly or annual deductions. Since I switched from QuickBooks, I miss having that level of scheduling control but their fees made QuickBooks impractical for my small operation.

Payroll changes create major problems

Pros

I appreciate that it handles payroll processing right from the start. The sales team really knows their stuff and can answer questions well. Unfortunately, once you become a customer, they transfer you to overseas support that doesn't seem properly trained.

Cons

Honestly, It becomes a nightmare the moment anything changes in your business setup. When I relocated to a different state earlier this year, it kept charging me employer fees for my old state without any heads up. I only caught it by accident when reviewing my bank statements. Zero communication about these ongoing charges.Even worse, after I switched bank accounts and set the new one as my default, it still pulled payroll from my old account. That kind of mix-up is unacceptable when dealing with people's paychecks.The support situation is terrible. Their overseas team gave me completely wrong tax information that could have landed me in serious trouble with the IRS if my accountant hadn't caught their mistake. I dont mind international support teams but not for something as critical as tax compliance where errors can have legal consequences. They're clearly not trained properly on US payroll regulations. The whole experience feels like a bait-and-switch, you get competent US-based sales reps initially but once your a customer, you're stuck dealing with a Philippines team that doesn't understand American payroll requirements. Really disappointing.

Cons

Cost for Advanced Features: Although Gustos pricing is generally fair some advanced features like the Complete and Concierge plans can be pricey. Small businesses with tight budgets might find these higher-tier plans less economical.

Can Fix W-2's once its submitted

Pros

Retrieving old documents is relatively easy although theres a fee for quarterly tax distribution.

Cons

When attempting to send a corrected W-2 they cant do so without showing reduced taxes even though theyve already submitted it to the IRS and State. It takes over six months possibly longer to rectify. Still awaiting resolution...

Absolutely Love this Full Feature Easy to Use Product!

Pros

I cant praise Gusto enough. Its been our go-to since 2017 for its user-friendliness and comprehensive features. It handles everything from payroll to tax reporting seamlessly making it stress-free for us.

Cons

In over 8 years I havent encountered a single negative aspect with Gusto. Even during COVID their customer service remained impeccable.
