Weeks have gone by and I've made several calls yet I still can't get logged in. Honestly it feels pretty ridiculous at this point.

Customer service doesn't seem to resolve anything. Logging in never worked even after trying for weeks.

I've found the support system fantastic, whenever I need assistance the in-app chat connects me with someone who actually understands the product, explains things clearly and gets issues resolved quickly and efficiently.

The contractor payments interface can be really frustrating to use, I've lost payroll entries more than once after the back button was accidentally tapped or even triggered by a gesture which forced me to rebuild everything from scratch. It's especially annoying because there's no clear undo or recovery when that happens. Another pain point is the employer notes field on each paycheck . the editing window is too small so I can barely read the full note or make edits comfortably. These feel like small usability problems that a redesign could fix without much trouble and despite them I still recommend and use this software because its strengths far outweigh these nuisances.

Getting it set up was very easy and keeping it running hasn't given me any headaches. When I ran into questions during the migration, the support team replied fast and even arranged an early phone call that cleared everything up and simplified the whole process.

For someone like me who gets overwhelmed by payroll and taxes, It has been a real lifesaver. It made the entire workflow so much easier, and their support team actually checks in to see how things are going. I really value that they take care of the complex stuff so I can concentrate on running my business.

Can't think of any major issues. If I had to suggest something, adding a time clock and team scheduling tools would be helpful, although the additional price they charge for those is quite high.

Workflow feels really easy and simple... nothing overly complicated. It also makes it simple to spot mistakes so payroll can be completed without a bunch of extra hassle.

It's pretty simplistic and unfortunately it doesn't include all the data categories you might expect. Larger, more expensive systems have more options but if you've got the time to work within it and you pair it with an integrating application, it can still give you solid value for the money.

There's genuinely nothing positive to say here. I'm really disappointed with the firm, what I needed was a basic payroll setup and they got it wrong and won't correct it. At this point, I'm definitely ending the relationship.

They reported our payroll frequency as bi-weekly even though we're actually paid monthly. Because of that mismatch, EDD is expecting the taxes as if they were bi-weekly so the penalties are piling up.

I am always happy using the app because the layout is so interactive and fun to move through, and I actually feel a little thrill whenever "Today is payday" appears on my phone.

What I didn't enjoy was the transfer timing when moving money from a Gusto savings account to a regular external bank account, it wasn't convenient for my needs.

Honestly, I find the whole system very user-friendly, even though I don't have much of a background in accounting or payroll. Their customer support team has come through for me whenever I needed help and the website walks you through each step in a clear, approachable way. The QuickBooks integration simplifies booking payroll, so I don't have to wrestle with manual entries. Automatic 401(k) contribution submissions handled through Guideline remove another task from my to-do list. Before switching to It I relied on an accountant for payroll but since I started managing it myself here it's noticeably faster and less complicated than the old process. My team receives direct deposits reliably, can clock in and out with the time tracking tool and accesses paystubs and upcoming pay right from the app.

Finding decent healthcare benefit options that don't break the bank was really tough for me . there simply weren't many affordable, integrated choices available for my small team.

“Decent but Nothing Special”

It makes it really simple for me to look up my pay information and to adjust benefits or deductions whenever I need to.

Cons

Transfers from the app to my external bank accounts take about three business days, which is annoying when I'm counting on the money sooner, I wish they offered instant transfers by default. On the bright side, I did find out you can get immediate transfers if you use their Gusto debit card but I would still prefer quicker options for standard bank transfers.
