“Awesomee product so far”

Pros

Having everything in one place is something I really value, pay stubs, the hours I'm available, benefits and everything else I need are all centralized. The weekly feedback surveys are terrific and I've grown to love the feature that lets me send positive vibes to coworkers. Being able to quickly tell someone they did a great job feels so simple but incredibly impactful and the weekly nudges make sure I actually use it. That kind of morale lift matters a lot to me, particularly working in veterinary care where rough shifts can really take a toll on people.

Cons

nothing negative comes to mind about it at the moment . I haven't run into any issues so far!

“Efficient with better deduction options”

Pros

As someone who values efficiency, It has been very interactive and the reminders are a game-changer. Setting it up was the easiest onboarding I've ever gone through even my accountant commented on how simple it was. I process payroll every week with this service and almost never have to contact support compared with my old provider, when I do reach out, their team is consistently helpful. I haven't hooked it up to other apps yet, but based on their support, I'd absolutely recommend them.

Cons

I would like more flexibility for tax deduction schedules . for example, options tailored to weekly, biweekly or annual deductions. Since I switched from QuickBooks, I miss having that level of scheduling control but their fees made QuickBooks impractical for my small operation.

“Payroll changes create major problems”

Pros

I appreciate that it handles payroll processing right from the start. The sales team really knows their stuff and can answer questions well. Unfortunately, once you become a customer, they transfer you to overseas support that doesn't seem properly trained.

Cons

Honestly, It becomes a nightmare the moment anything changes in your business setup. When I relocated to a different state earlier this year, it kept charging me employer fees for my old state without any heads up. I only caught it by accident when reviewing my bank statements. Zero communication about these ongoing charges.Even worse, after I switched bank accounts and set the new one as my default, it still pulled payroll from my old account. That kind of mix-up is unacceptable when dealing with people's paychecks. The support situation is terrible. Their overseas team gave me completely wrong tax information that could have landed me in serious trouble with the IRS if my accountant hadn't caught their mistake. I dont mind international support teams but not for something as critical as tax compliance where errors can have legal consequences. They're clearly not trained properly on US payroll regulations. The whole experience feels like a bait-and-switch, you get competent US-based sales reps initially but once your a customer, you're stuck dealing with a Philippines team that doesn't understand American payroll requirements. Really disappointing.

“Loved it”

Pros

Simple enough that it works for everyone on my team. I can open it right from my phone and instantly find the key details tied to my job... taxes, payroll and benefits... all organized in one convenient place.

Cons

It's functioning exactly how we need it and there's nothing I'd say I like the least at the moment. I haven't tried any other service either so I can't directly compare it to alternatives.

“hidden fees and delays”

Pros

The only thing that felt simple was the "bag of lies" I was handed at the start.

Cons

Pretty much every part of it eventually turns into some sort of hidden fee or a hidden delay.

“gusto handles everything”

Pros

Our company can't say enough good things about this product. Whenever another vendor tries to pitch something that supposedly does the same job, we decline immediately. A lot of companies feel "a la carte," but this tool is different. We've been using it since 2017 and genuinely hope we can keep using it long-term. It's also really user friendly and supports employee self-onboarding. For hourly staff, it includes time tracking and it also supports time tracking by project. Beyond payroll, it manages benefits plans, open enrollment and workers' compensation insurance payments. It takes care of payroll itself, handles taxes, generates new-employee reporting, supports tax reporting and provides W-2s and 1099s. It even covers contractor payments, both domestic and international, with international employee payments planned for November 2023. Everything feels simple, with no confusing setup or unnecessary complexity. Gusto also plays nicely with other programs so it fits well into our existing workflow. We pair it with their partner EasyLlama for training (there's a small additional fee for EasyLlama) and that portion has been excellent too. When we talk to the owners about adding any benefit, their first question is always, "Do they work with Gusto?" That says a lot.

Cons

After more than 8 years, including the disruption of COVID, I still haven't run into a single downside. Customer service kept going without missing a beat.

“clean platform”

Pros

The platform layout feels clean and organized. I also appreciate having chat support on hand since replies come quickly when I need help.

Cons

Could use a bit more depth... bulk uploads would be a big upgrade, along with additional payroll codes. More integration options with other systems would also make it more useful long-term.

“nice interface”

Pros

I really appreciate how clean the interface feels especially since it puts the most important information right on the landing page. From there, I can quickly check upcoming paydays, review my last payments and even see W-2 updates without digging through menus. The Paystubs page also includes year-to-date stats that are genuinely helpful and simple to understand. As an employee, I also like how painless it is to report an address change when my details need updating.

Cons

There are quite a few extra modules bundled in, like Wallet, Learning and Giving and it can feel like a lot for a tool that's basically centered on salary payments. I get that these extras are useful for people who want more than payroll info but the dashboard seems a bit more cluttered than it used to be in earlier years.

“Efficient software!”

Pros

Onboarding new hires has become a lot faster with Gusto and it's helping me run payroll on time with great accuracy. My employees stay happy each month because everything is consistent. I also rely heavily on financial reports and it keeps my payroll reports organized and up to date. Support has been really friendly and genuinely helpful whenever I need it. Scheduling payments is another big win... payments go out on time without delays or hassle. Considering the features you get, it feels very affordable and gives solid value for the money. It handles payroll taxes well and I like that I can track and monitor employee time and attendance which makes calculating employee benefits much smoother.

Cons

Everything feels simple and that's exactly why I'd recommend it, particularly for HR practitioners who want a dependable payroll system.

“Gusto Payroll Software”

Pros

In addition to payroll Gusto offers HR tools such as employee onboarding and compliance assistance making it a comprehensive solution.

Cons

Cost for Advanced Features: Although Gustos pricing is generally fair some advanced features like the Complete and Concierge plans can be pricey. Small businesses with tight budgets might find these higher-tier plans less economical.

“Can Fix W-2's once its submitted”

Pros

Retrieving old documents is relatively easy although theres a fee for quarterly tax distribution.

Cons

When attempting to send a corrected W-2 they cant do so without showing reduced taxes even though theyve already submitted it to the IRS and State. It takes over six months possibly longer to rectify. Still awaiting resolution...
