“useful but feature gaps”
Pros
Its a pretty average HR Management System. We started using it mainly to manage our payroll but it also seemed like it could work as a general HR tool. However, the time tracking side feels incomplete and there were several important features missing which limited how much we could rely on it.
Cons
There's a lot it still needs to improve. The platform's modules and feature coverage don't feel as polished as they should. One concrete example is the tax template it's not compatible with our local tax rules and ends up being difficult to adjust into something usable. Also, there aren't enough options for soft/custom style customization.

“its so good”
Pros
I've really liked its ability to pay out of state employees and contractors quickly without drowning in paperwork. It's convenient that the employee can enter their own private payment details and W 2s are handled from there.
Cons
The part I like least is having to track down and resolve tax compliance issues, plus the support isn't very simple when you need help with compliance.

“great for small teams”
Pros
It quickly became one of the best online payroll tools for small businesses. It's quick, dependable and gives us a payroll workflow that feels smooth from start to finish. We use it to make sure employees are paid accurately and right on schedule. It handles employee payroll for you, supports time tracking and takes care of employee benefits which saves a lot of manual work. Onboarding is genuinely simple set up, enter details and you're ready so bringing on and integrating new hires is fast and far less painful than the alternatives.
Cons
Some integrations with other software are limited though it hasn't been a frequent problem for us. Also, there's no dedicated mobile app, it's not a dealbreaker but it feels like something most platforms offer by now.

“has the best tools”
Pros
Turned out to be exactly what I needed for payroll and deductions really a dependable, practically error free tool. The interface is simple to navigate and genuinely user friendly so figuring things out the first time didn't take long at all. Also, the new hire paperwork is handled right inside it which is a huge time saver. Everything being in one place is honestly fantastic. The self service features are so strong that we rarely need to contact customer support. When we do reach out (not often), the support team is always ready to help and they go into the details clear, knowledgeable and actually helpful. It leaves us feeling taken care of and appreciated. We also use Gusto for contractors, it covers payments, tax handling and even employee benefits like paid overtime. Pricing feels fair so startup companies can realistically afford it. Reporting is another area where it surprised me since payroll reporting is usually too tiring , it's nice that this tool makes it so easy.
Cons
No real downsides here. I genuinely love it and my referrals have been happy too kudos to the team.

“solid setup”
Pros
Setup is pretty simple and the platform covers the basics most businesses actually need. Gusto's web interface is well organized so you can get common tasks done quickly. If your main goal is simple reporting and routine payroll processing, it fits that use case well.
Cons
Customer service has been a complete headache especially when payroll gets into benefits administration. Messed up our health insurance plans and enrolled employees in health coverage options that weren't even available in our state. We ended up waiting about five months and it took pressure from our lawyers before we finally got someone who understood the issue and could resolve it.

“improved alot”
Pros
Using it has been simple from day one, including the initial setup. They also keep rolling out updates and new capabilities regularly which makes it fun to keep using the platform.
Cons
When they add extra capabilities, the pricing for those features can go up as well and that part isn't very appealing to us.

“easy to use”
Pros
Really enjoyed how painless the setup and day to day use felt. Gusto's platform is genuinely user friendly and it doesn't leave you hanging there's a ton of guidance, step by step resources and support for setting up each employee while staying compliant with federal and state requirements. Worker's compensation was also simple to configure and the whole process felt smooth. Also, the pricing struck me as very affordable for what you get.
Cons
A few helpful add ons, like time tracking, sit in higher price tiers. There's also a base charge to unlock the platform plus an additional per user monthly fee and that combination can make it pretty expensive to expand into extra features.

“you can rely on it”
Pros
The interface is genuinely simple setup took almost no time and I was running payroll right away. Overall, it feels pretty simple to get started without much hassle.
Cons
Would still want a bit more training included since it's not always clear how to fully understand and use every part of the software. A stronger onboarding/training would help a lot.

Pros
Super simple to use and the pricing feels really fair. Customer support has been solid whenever I've had questions and they were quick to help.
Cons
There was a minor hiccup where the unemployment rate didn't update right away but it looks like that's been fixed now. Aside from that, there haven't been any real complaints.

“Amazing results”
Pros
It's been dependable never ran into any trouble with receiving payments. The money lands straight in my checking account without any fees or extra charges which makes everything feel simple.
Cons
I'd prefer more advance communication when a payment transaction is starting (when it's initiated) since right now I only get notice once the payment is fully completed.

“poor tax support and fixes”
Pros
Nothing really stands out here this payroll setup feels basically the same as other payroll providers.
Cons
Customer support is a big letdown. Tax issues drag on for ages to get resolved even though the problems are almost always time sensitive and often end up being their fault. Benefit management is only mediocre and when something goes wrong it tends to go badly. They also hand the repair work off to the client after slow responses which makes the whole situation even more frustrating.

“payment processing failures”
Pros
Getting paid when the system actually works is the only real upside but at this point it has missed the mark completely.
Cons
It's hard to use and the support team took days to reply without ever fixing the problem. Even after they said it was a major software bug, they didn't provide a real workaround or solution. The issue also stopped payment processing entirely even though the verification could've been handled over the phone.

“simple to use”
Pros
A few clients I support use this platform and I previously worked at a company that handled payroll with it as well. I really appreciated that once you log into the website, you can quickly access paystubs, tax forms and even update your bank account details. Most of the time the software feels simple to use and learn especially for everyday payroll tasks.
Cons
Tracking down specific reports can get frustrating at times sometimes they aren't available or they're listed under a different name than expected. That said, customer service has been fantastic when we needed exact details, they'd help us locate the right information and usually it just took a couple of attempts to get what we were looking for.

“Loved it”
Pros
After getting started with it, I was basically an entry level employee with zero payroll management experience. Gusto made everything feel simple and very reliable paying employees, reviewing past payments and keeping everything organized by employment type (full time employees, contractors, hourly wages and salaried wages).
Cons
I can't really point to many downsides. Over the roughly year I used it, there were only a handful of technical glitches and each one was handled quickly by their support team.

“gusto payroll organized”
Pros
This software has become a big help for our business especially for handling payroll and the other HR tasks that come with it. We rolled it out when our team reached 9 employees, mainly because payroll was causing friction employees were raising complaints and it was getting hard to manage properly. Since switching to it, those complaints have dropped a lot and it's also cut down on both time and costs. Overall, the change has made employees much happier.
Cons
Leave management could use some refinement since navigating the leave options isn't always simple particularly when you're entering leave for less than a full day.
