Pros

Gusto's staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about their products and services. It was a fantastic experience overall.

Cons

The only downside is that direct deposit takes a few days. Training videos would be highly beneficial. Also, it's currently not possible to pay both an hourly rate and a commission.

Honestly, I can't think of anything; it's incredibly straightforward and fulfills all its functions.

While Gusto functions well, the customer service has let me down twice by not providing the assistance promised at the end of phone calls.

Resolving tax compliance issues takes a while, and the reporting isn't as straightforward as I'd prefer. Plus, I can't save modified reports.

I appreciate how easy the platform is to use. As a new business owner, it met all my needs for paying employees and managing important information. Having my taxes managed and reported is a huge relief. I wouldn't know where to start without it. Plus, I love the wealth of information it provides on the platform.

Cons

One thing I didn't like, specific to my situation, is the lack of information on setting up benefits for my office despite two attempts.

Clock-in times are simple, payroll runs smoothly and time off works really well. Support can be hit or miss but the HR Pros feature is definitely worth enabling and overall it's something I'd recommend for teams that want solid time tracking plus dependable pay.

It could use deeper integrations with Asana and the other tools we rely on. I'd also like to see more tax-related features and better help for audits.

Pros

Processing payroll and onboarding new employees has been simple and the interface is simple enough to handle day to day tasks. Support has also been solid, with clear, helpful communication throughout the process.

Cons

Tax compliance problems can take quite a while to sort out. Reporting feels less adaptive than I'd expect and I'm not able to save the modified reports I make which is frustrating.

Support response times can be rough. You typically have to wait around 24 hours on average to get issues resolved and there are moments when you simply can't afford to wait that long.

Has been the most simple payroll and HRIS platform I've used so far, the admin side makes it simple to move through the different modules without feeling lost.

Cons

The website still feels pretty limited in terms of functionality and it definitely needs more development and expansion to meet broader needs.

Really simple for anyone who has zero HR experience and it gets you up and running fast.

A lot of key features are behind paywalls so once you need something extra or you need to add more users, the cost starts to climb pretty quickly.
