What I like the least is the wait time for support, averaging around 24 hours to resolve issues. Sometimes, waiting that long isn't feasible.

Sounds cliche but it's genuinely plug and play... the payroll part was the easiest piece of getting my business up and running about three years ago. it really nails the user experience side of payroll.

Honestly I can't think of anything to complain about. There's just very little to criticize.

Pros

Staff can clock in and out using basically any device as long as it has an internet connection. I also enabled geolocation which helps confirm the employee is actually on-site when they clock in and out. Another handy part is that employees can leave notes about what they completed during the day so I get clearer context along with the time records. For a small team, having this built in tracking for accountability has been really useful.

Cons

Its scheduling side doesn't feel fully adequate (in my view) so I end up using another software tool just for employee scheduling. It would be ideal if scheduling and payroll were handled in the same web-based system. That way, it'd be simpler to line up what was scheduled versus what was actually worked and reduce the extra steps across different platforms.

Employees are required to wear masks in public areas which makes it feel a lot safer. There are clear guidelines to use hand and sweat sanitizer and they also encourage people to follow symptom rules. Social distancing is handled around the dining tables and the seating setup keeps tables in between customers.

Cons

The program can feel like a lot of pressure to keep up with. Booking takes some time so it isn't always instant when you're trying to plan something.

Vocabulary is easy to understand and the tools are laid out in a simplified way which makes navigation and learning the platform much more simple.

It could use a few more images, adding them would make comprehension even faster and improve how clearly the platform is explained.

Gusto's pricing sits on the lower end compared with providers like QBO, ADP and Paychex. The app interface also feels clean and simple which makes day-to-day navigation less of a hassle. Finding and pulling reports is noticeably simpler than in several other platforms I've used. The referral incentives aimed at accountants are pretty aggressive too.. though it looks like those rewards fluctuate as other companies respond and adjust their own offers.

Came across some ongoing issues that, in the past, took months to get resolved. That said, it doesn't feel entirely unique to it since I've seen similar timelines with other services as well.

I really like their user interface, it doesn't feel like the usual, traditional payroll setup you see everywhere. Working in this kind of environment has been a nice change. The mobile version for employees is also a big plus since it makes it simple to view and update information on the go. Also, their pricing is significantly lower than most large payroll administrators.

Cons

Since the product is still growing as an HR tool, there's room for improvement. A time tracking feature should be included even in the basic plan. Also, the time-off screens for contractors and employees seem to contradict each other, there should be a clearer separation or a way to prevent overlap.

Pros

Been using it for bi weekly payroll processing and it fits well for both employers and employees. The setup feels user-friendly and it makes the workflow simple for everyone involved.

Cons

Customer service could be better.. more so when payroll issues come up since this kind of thing is time-sensitive.

Working out tax and health care info in it feels pretty simple and the pay stubs are just as clear. I also run two separate accounts and the way they integrate together works well.

It's pretty simple to use and it's not overly intrusive, just enough to keep a procrastinator like me engaged and hitting deadlines. honestly that's a big deal.

Would be nicer if everything was handled under one service. Right now it feels split across three different companies covering bookkeeping, payroll and quarterly tax filings and that gets confusing sometimes when I'm not sure who I should contact for specific questions.
