“fast setup”

Pros

Really enjoying the ability to see my whole team in one place. The platform includes simple profiles with each person's name, role, birthday and even their work anniversary which makes it easier to stay connected. Another big win is the newer app, now I can check my pay and manage my finances without having to log into the website. The benefits area is also super convenient, I can access my insurance info, 401(k) and my PTO and sick balances quickly.

Cons

It would be even better if the app offered more control over benefits. I get that the current app is focused on money management but I'd love to see a fully functional benefits experience rolled into the app too.

Pros

Support team was really helpful and the PSO organization handled the implementation planning exceptionally well.

Cons

Coverage for global parts of our organization can be inconsistent, depending on what time of day we open a support request.

“excellent hr platform”

Pros

This is one of the best HR SaaS options I've come across. The platform feels very well designed and the overall ease of use is genuinely impressive.

Cons

We were surprised to learn it only works in the US. Since we're an Europe-based company, the platform requested information that's basically relevant only to US-based businesses which didn't fit our setup.

“fast navigation for payroll & pto”

Pros

Navigation between the benefits pages, payroll and PTO is really simple and the tool itself loads quickly. That combination makes it much easier to keep track of my overall compensation without constantly digging around.

Cons

Paycheck Splitter feature needs refinement, I'd like it to be able to apply split percentages only to specific paychecks (for example, base payday but not commission payday).

“makes payroll so much easier”

Pros

There's a lot to like about it. Paying contractors, salaried staff and hourly employees all feels simple. It also handles payroll across multiple states without turning into a headache. I really appreciate how well it tracks our 401(k) deductions and onboarding has been so easy using the platform. Also, managing PTO and sick time is much easier than it used to be, everything is easy to track and stay organized.

Cons

Nothing really comes to mind that I dislike. It's genuinely strong payroll software.

“works so well”

Pros

I switched from ADP Paychex to Gusto mainly because the pricing was better. Since it's just my husband and me running payroll, the $19 plan has been a fantastic fit... especially because we don't handle benefits or anything like that so we don't need the more expensive tiers.

Cons

Gusto is phasing out the super small business $19 option and replacing it with a $39 plan. Once that change rolls around, I'll probably cancel and look for another provider.

“Simple and reliable.”

Pros

I appreciate that with GutsoHR were saving a lot of time and money that we can put towards something else. Its also been really beneficial to be able to onboard our new workers with ease and efficiency using this software.

Cons

Its been great working with gusto so far! We have no complaints.

Its brilliant software that offers a lot of inbuilt features to its users. I also like that most of the features are automated which makes it easier for us and helps us streamline our workflow.

Cons

A few of the features are not quite useful to us but there is no harm in having them as options.

Gustos most essential characteristic is its simplicity. Customer support is amazing and helped us throughout the whole process of setup and implementation. Would definitely recommend it!

I like that Gusto makes payroll making a simple process, and I also like that the entire payroll process is transparent and efficient.

Pros

Having visibility into profiles for every team member is awesome and it definitely helps team leads get up to speed on who everyone is. Getting tax documents is also handled really well, onboarding new employees is simple and reviewing PTO requests doesn't feel like a hassle at all.

Cons

The only thing that stands out is the price, it's a bit higher than simpler, less feature-rich options. If you're mainly after payroll management, this might feel like more system than you need.

“Stellar support”

Pros

Gusto's standout feature for me is how simple it feels to use day to day. I've also had really good experiences with their customer support, any time I've needed help, the team has been responsive and helpful.

Cons

Homepage has gotten a bit too crowded over time so it can take a moment to figure out what actually matters versus what's just there for reference.

Pros

This tool really supports onboarding and employee management. I also appreciate how the work can be quantified through the software since it provides accurate, reliable data for tracking progress.

Cons

It's limited to desktop use only, there's no mobile app available so you can't manage things on the go from your phone.

Pros

App is really convenient in that it automatically reminds me about my pay dates and it pulls together the right tax documentation ahead of tax season. It takes a lot of the last minute scrambling out of the process.

Cons

I do wish it offered more employee focused tools especially for tracking salary changes over time and giving me helpful data to support conversations with my managers during negotiations.

Pros

I really enjoy how the layout is set up... it feels user-friendly for esthetics and makes the whole experience simple.

“Has everything you need”

Pros

Managing my PTO is pretty simple and requesting time off takes only a minute. I also appreciate the option to request an interest free loan when something comes up since the repayment automatically comes out of the next paycheck.

Cons

Security is important but I'm not a fan of needing a text message verification code every single time I log in, this includes when I'm already using the app. Even with face recognition turned on, I still have to wait for the text code before I can access my account.

Pros

I really love the interface and how usable everything feels. The features are well thought out and customer service has been consistently fast and genuinely helpful whenever something comes up. Running payroll, generating reports, using time tracking and even signing up for benefits is all simple and works the way I expect.

Cons

Nothing to complain about... no issues at all so far.

“UI is nice”

Pros

The user interface is easily the best I've seen in any payroll system. Also, the pricing feels pretty reasonable for what you get but the thing that really stands out is how fast deployment is. After using multiple payroll tools over my 8 years of work, I haven't managed to set up a payroll system this quickly before.

Cons

I'd prefer a one-time purchase option so I can own the software outright instead of paying a monthly rental fee.
