“Useful interview feature”
Pros
Creating schedules doesn't take a lot of effort. The interview tool is helpful too since it sends messages to applicants automatically and posting job ads right from the system saves extra steps.
Cons
I schedule my team from Tuesday to Monday so it throws me off that the builder only works Monday through Sunday. I'd also love a way to place shadow?day visitors on the schedule without counting them as official staff.

“positive experience”
Pros
We used Homebase for scheduling and team communication and it ended up being really useful. Whenever I needed time off, there was an option to ask a coworker to swap shifts with me or request coverage which was incredibly convenient especially for last-minute situations. The messaging side was probably my favorite part. If I needed to send a group message, it could automatically target only the people scheduled for that specific day. That made things so much faster when I needed to tell the team I was running late or ask someone downstairs to bring up supplies. I didn't have to waste time figuring out who to message because the app pulled the right people directly from the schedule. On top of that it let me see exactly who I was working with that day. I genuinely enjoyed that feature since I could check whether I'd be on shift with my bestie or someone I wasn't as excited to work with. Another part I really appreciated was the income tracker. It kept track of my hours and showed an estimate of how much I had earned during the pay period and it was easy to find. That helped calm a lot of my anxiety because I could quickly tell whether I had enough for upcoming bills or if I needed to grab an extra shift.
Cons
Honestly I only really have one complaint and it seems more related to management than the software itself. It has a feature that is supposed to let employees access a small portion of their paycheck early. Every time I tried to use it though it never worked. I am fairly sure that had more to do with my manager not supporting or enabling the feature. It's a really valuable option for employees especially with how expensive everything is right now and how hard it can be living in a costly city.

“Payroll, scheduling done perfectly”
Pros
After searching for a tool that brings payroll and scheduling together without any hassle, this one really delivers. Being able to see the payroll cost per hour directly on the schedule is something I absolutely love.
Cons
At this point there really isn't a feature I dislike. If I had to be extremely picky, it would be nice to have a visual view of individual teams within the schedule.

“HR support is absolutely fantastic”

Its pricing is the part that gives me pause. It feels pretty steep for a small business owner.

“Free hiring tools really help”
Pros
One thing that really helps is the free hiring feature especially for small businesses that cannot afford larger HR software platforms.
Cons
The interface is a little confusing at times but I think a few adjustments could make it much better.

“Clear shifts with very handy chat”
Pros
One thing I really enjoy about it is how clearly my shifts are laid out and it makes it simple to see who I'll be working with. It's also really useful being able to check who has given up a shift when I am trying to pick up extra hours. The group chat feature with coworkers is another part I love because it feels more convenient than regular texting. On top of that the time clock works really well and overall there are lots of different ways to use the app.
Cons
Every now and then the app glitches and signs me out but it usually doesn't last very long.

“geofencing is always accurate”
Pros
Getting the system up and running, including adding new employees, was simple. Staff need very little training to start using the time clock and the geofencing feature has been genuinely useful. Updates happen quietly in the background and we have not run into any reliability issues.
Cons
My biggest frustration is that the company keeps looking for extra ways to make money beyond the subscription fee by marketing directly to employees. They pushed payday loans before which we only got removed after threatening to leave and now there are more ads encouraging employees to buy features they don't want or need. The service desk has not been able or willing, to turn those ads off. If they really need additional revenue, an ad-free subscription would make a lot more sense.

“Schedule views remain nicely flexible”
Pros
Being able to look at the schedule by employee, by day or by week is really useful and gives me the flexibility to view it however I need.
Cons
One thing I don't care for is that the day view recently stopped showing the full day and now only covers 7am to 7pm.

“Schedule flexibly from any location”
Pros
Using Homebase has not been a hassle. Adding new team members, messaging the full staff or specific people and creating or updating schedules all feel simple to manage. Since it's cloud-based, I can log in from anywhere and make changes whenever needed which has been a big plus.
Cons
The only real issue we've run into is that notifications aren't always completely reliable. Even when they're enabled and the phone settings are set correctly, a few people still have not received updates at times. Thankfully, the in-app chat makes it quick to reach out and sort those situations out.

“lacks some features”
Pros
It is very user-friendly but it doesn't cover everything we need long term. Since it doesn't handle payroll or benefits, we're planning to switch once we find something that fits our full HR needs.
Cons
My version feels limited compared to others I've tried. Switching between employees is awkward and managers end up doing all the time edits and PTO entries manually, things that should ideally be handled by employees with managers just approving.

“billing seems shady”
Pros
Having everything bundled into one platform is convenient and it makes communication with my team much simpler.
Cons
The biggest frustration has been being sold an introductory rate for the full service, including HR, with the promise that I would be grandfathered in as long as I kept the plan. Instead it tried to renew me 4 months early which created issues with my team's permissions and somehow I no longer have HR access. Even though I had not reached my actual renewal date, they still refused to honor the original agreement or provide the services through the end of the term. On top of that they were supposed to charge one account for subscription fees and use a different account for payroll withdrawals, yet they keep drafting from the wrong account. It all feels very shady, with nothing but excuses.

Pros
Putting together employee schedules is really easy with this software and it's just as convenient for staff to request time off, trade shifts and handle those day to day changes.
