“Reliable time tracking remains favorite”
Pros
Right from the start Homebase has been very user-friendly and having the mobile app makes it even more convenient. Everything runs well and I honestly have not run into any downtime or glitches at all. It has really organized our timekeeping tasks and saved us a lot of time. Our whole team enjoys using it.
Cons
I honestly have not come across anything I dislike about it.

“Accounting integrations remain fairly limited”
Pros
Being able to let staff request time off and then build the schedule around those requests is definitely helpful.
Cons
The accounting integrations are really poor. It only works with QuickBooks Online and they apparently have no plans to support other accounting platforms which feels like a major mistake.

“Color coded scheduling works really well”
Pros
The scheduling setup has been a real highlight. It's simple to navigate and the color-coding along with the premade tools for adding shifts has cut down a lot on having to re-enter the same information.
Cons
I have not run into any problems at all and I am genuinely very happy with it.

“Sales tracking tools are quite powerful”
Pros
One of the best parts of this software is how many functions it handles. I can check exactly who sold a beer, what time it was sold and even which kind of beer it was.
Cons
The only frustrating part was that if we went offline, it was almost impossible to get back on. Most of the time though, that turned out to be an issue with our internet connection and not the tool itself.

“Helpful reminders with handy messaging”
Pros
Right away Homebase felt very user-friendly and it comes with a lot of features that really improve the overall experience. It sends reminders for the days you're scheduled to work and even prompts you to clock out at the end of your shift. The messaging feature is also really convenient and makes it simple to stay connected with coworkers.
Cons
At times the software would lag a little but it usually caught up again pretty quickly.

“Does everything expensive tools do”
Pros
Using the platform feels smooth from the beginning and it honestly matches tools that cost way more. Sending a quick text with a download link for new hires is a feature I didn't know I needed.
Cons
Figuring out who should get which alerts felt a bit messy at first but once I sorted those settings out, the whole thing became pretty simple to manage.

“offer excellent support”
Pros
One thing that really stands out is how clearly it keeps me updated on my schedule. It's also an excellent app for tracking time and I have especially appreciated the customer service built into it. The support team really makes you feel like a top priority.
Cons
I honestly have not run into any issues with this time-tracking app.

“Simple setup with flexible management”
Pros
Homebase is user friendly and the system is simple to learn. It's also really helpful that multiple managers can be added and use it without hassle.

One thing it still doesn't handle is calculating statutory holiday pay.

“payroll executed correctly”
Pros
Scheduling, payroll, messaging and the ability for employees to trade shifts all work really well. It covers the key day to day tasks I need and makes managing the team much more convenient.
Cons
The mobile version doesn't match the laptop interface and I wish I could access every feature from my phone the same way I can on desktop.

“reminders for upcoming shifts”
Pros
This system helps me keep track of schedules, hours and PTO for my whole team without confusion. The automatic reminders for upcoming shifts help make sure nobody forgets when they're supposed to work.
Cons
When I cancel a shift, I wish the system would automatically alert the employee so they don't show up without knowing their schedule changed.

“works well for us”
Pros
Scheduling and the time clock have been working really well for us. The only thing I'd want added is requiring GPS and a photo for mobile clock-outs too, not just clock-ins.
Cons
A couple of features I want are locked behind the next pricing tier but paying an extra $30 a month doesn't feel justified just for those two options which are preventing early clock-ins and setting up automatic clock-outs. It also doesn't support international phone numbers.

“Team messaging comes in handy”
Pros
One thing that's been really useful is being able to message either my entire staff or only certain employees through the built-in messaging system.
Cons
My biggest frustration is that it doesn't integrate with the POS system I currently use for clock-ins. Moving between different time periods also is a little confusing and I'd rather type in date ranges manually instead of having to scroll with the directional arrows.

“Easy scheduling that truly wins”
Pros
Using Homebase is not a problem and it takes a lot of the hassle out of building schedules. It also makes it simple to keep up with employee hours and labor costs. Another feature I really like is the group messaging which helps managers communicate updates, changes and issues quickly and efficiently.
Cons
One thing I would absolutely change is the wording in the employee availability section. Instead of having an option labeled preferred, I would replace it with available. The issue is that when I copy a schedule into the next week, it's very easy to accidentally assign someone to a day they actually cannot work because the system still lets me schedule outside of their preference. The workaround I ended up using was telling employees to mark times as unavailable instead so that if I scheduled them during those times, the system would finally warn me. That's why I honestly don't see the point of the preferred option. I am not concerned with what days they'd rather work as I need to know when they cannot work so I know what not to put them on. I have called twice before to explain this suggestion but it felt like no one really understood what I meant, maybe because they were thinking like software engineers instead of business managers.

“Clean scheduling with great communication”
Pros
It is really easy to use. The way information is laid out makes everything clear and it works well for both team wide and one on one communication. Scheduling is also handled very nicely which has made day to day coordination much simpler.
Cons
One thing that's missing is a notes section for daily time logging. Since I manage teams across different project sites, I need to record hours by project address so I can match labor costs against separate budgets. I couldn't find a practical way to do that in the system so I still have to track that part manually.

“way too many extras”
Pros
Scheduling is where Homebase really works well. It makes it simple to swap shifts, build schedules, check upcoming shifts and manage that whole side of things.
Cons
At the same time it feels packed with extra features that nobody really needs or seems to use. The time clock especially, doesn't feel necessary and can actually make things more complicated.
