“Helps me monitor my team
Pros
I'm able to follow what my team is doing without much effort which helps me stay on top of things every day.
Cons
There are times when I get stuck trying to make certain changes. For example I have temp workers that I don't want to delete but I'd still like them off the active employee list. I can't seem to find any option that hides people with zero hours without fully removing them.

Pros
I find it to be very user-friendly. It feels easy on mobile too and doesn't give me trouble when I'm on the go.
Cons
I've been wanting to add my accountant but I can't figure out how to give him access as an accountant instead of showing up like a regular employee in the system.

We enjoyed using the free version to stay on track with our schedules and the timesheets made running payroll much easier.

What I enjoy most is how convenient everything feels. I love that the whole team can stay connected in one place without changing different tools.
Cons
Wish there were stronger tools for assigning tasks during shifts especially for the girls so their duties are clearer.

Pros
I like that it brings together scheduling, time tracking, payroll pieces and POS info so everything lines up in one system.
Cons
Sometimes the app glitches here and there but support always steps in and helps me out when I need it.

Pros
Scheduling people easily and repeating shifts has been super helpful for me. Staff can update their availability and submit time-off requests on their own which takes a lot off my plate.
Cons
I really wish it offered a feature that builds schedules automatically.

“scheduling feature stands out
Pros
Very effective for scheduling. Swapping shifts is simple whether I'm on my phone or at the computer. It's also nice for celebrating team moments or chatting as a group. For me, the scheduling tools stand out the most. Even though I'm not using everything the platform offers, the parts I do use are easy to pick up. When I reached out to support early on, they were always helpful and professional.
Cons
There isn't a way to turn clock in/out feature off. We don't use it.

“Pleased with the accuracy
Pros
When I first joined this company, everyone had to write down hours on paper and figure out totals on their own. Switching to Homebase completely changed that. Staff can clock in from their phones and the system calculates everything with no errors. Scheduling became easier because people get their shifts right away. Time?off requests are clearer and nothing gets lost. We also added onboarding tools so new hires get paperwork before their first day. It's saved us time and money. I tried different options before choosing Homebase and I'm happy I went with this one.
Cons
One trouble we've had happens when the app seems to update. Some staff get logged out or can't clock in for a short while. It's not frequent, just inconvenient. I'd also love new options like separate manager access by department, automatic clock-outs at midnight and a more advanced manager-only version of the app.

Pros
For what I pay, this is easily the best tool I've used. The time it saves and the convenience make it worth every penny.
Cons
The free version works well for small teams but once you hit around ten employees, moving to a paid plan becomes the better option.

It's simple for me to build schedules even though a few employees said they sometimes ran into issues clocking in.
Cons
Customer support for payroll and taxes has been almost impossible to rely on. When problems show up, getting them fixed is extremely difficult. We ended up hiring a CPA firm to correct mistakes from their payroll tax filings.

“Tracking made easy
Pros
Homebase has made time tracking and schedules way easier for us. Automated reminders, shift swaps and team messaging save time and connecting it with payroll keeps everything organized. Support replies quickly whenever I need help.
Cons
Even though it offers a lot of great features, I'd love to have more control over customizing reports and more flexibility with setting permission levels by role. Aside from that, it's been a great tool.

“horrible experience with support team

Feels easy to work with overall. The setup was decent at the beginning although the system gets confused when an employee comes from another job that also used Homebase.
Cons
When things break, it feels like support doesn't really care about helping even when the issue is urgent. We found a payroll mistake, asked them how to fix it and they told us to void and re-run it. After voiding it, they still pulled money for the tax withholding from the voided payroll, not once but twice. And when I asked for a refund immediately, they brushed it off and said it would take days. That whole experience made me feel like they don't value their customers at all.

“Everything at one place
Pros
It's really helpful being able to talk with staff and manage scheduling, availability and time?off all inside one app. At past jobs, I had to deal with texts, emails and spreadsheets and keeping everything aligned was exhausting. Having it all in one place saves me a lot of stress.
Cons
For a while it felt like updates were nonstop. Most apps explain new changes or walk you through what's different but it didn't, which made things confusing. It's still fairly easy to use if you're comfortable with tech. I just wish I could change the schedule view. Our week runs Wednesday through Sunday but I have to flip back and forth between pages because the app won't show that entire range together.

“free version works perfectly for us
Pros
We use the free version every single day and it fits our retail store perfectly. It's simple to build schedules and update availability. Our team can trade shifts or request coverage without trouble. They offer payroll too and I'd probably use it if we weren't already tied to QuickBooks. I've recommended it to other shop owners and they ended up using it too. I even share an employee with one store and our shared staff member can see both schedules in one view. Anytime I've needed support, they've been cooperative.
Cons
We have one employee who can't figure out how to request time off or sync the schedule to her phone calendar. The calendar syncing is kind of messy. It creates multiple duplicate entries for the same shift. Getting ten notifications for one shift is definitely not enjoyable.

I really enjoy using the scheduling tools and group chat because they help me keep things running smoothly especially on days when I'm handling way too much at once.
Cons

Pros
Setting everything up didn't take long and using it every day feels just as simple. Both of our locations can communicate without any trouble which helps us stay aligned.
Cons
When someone used this with a different workplace before joining us, it ends up causing annoying problems when trying to get their profile set up or edit their details.

Pros
I like the portal a lot and the iPad app works great. It's easy for both managers and staff and the time tracking stays accurate.
Cons
Don't have much to complain about because it works almost perfectly. I just wish I could switch between minutes and decimals whenever I need to.
