“lost its spark
Pros
The interface is organized and I really like the modern look.
Cons
It has really declined over the past year. I've been using it since 2017 and ever since the acquisition, both customer support and basic functionality have deteriorated so much that we're actively looking for alternatives.

“Not very user friendly
Pros
Namely is far superior to Paychex, which we used before. It includes all the necessary features and fulfills its role pretty well.
Cons
Even though Namely is far better than Paychex, it still leaves much to be desired in terms of employee user experience. The portal is not intuitive to navigate, the performance review functionality is basic and I often find myself needing to contact HR for assistance with navigating the platform.

“payroll's okay, support is a nightmare
Pros
I guess it does payroll okay. But that's pretty much the only good thing I can say about it.
Cons
support has been a nightmare from day one. I log tickets expecting resolution in their promised timefram, but it never happens. Had an urgent issue sit untouched for 48 hours without any response. We've got tax-related tickets that have been open for months now, completely unacceptable. Trying to escalate these problems is nearly impossible, and when I tried reaching out to leadership, I discovered they don't even list a CEO. The platform is shockingly expensive for what you get. Even after posting this review and having someone from support reach out, nothing improved. Still don't have clarity on our outstanding tax balances and they took zero responsibility for their calculation errors or the additional costs their delays caused us. Really frustrating paying them for calculations that weren't even done properly.

“terrible support
Pros
I can easily send documents to my team to get an e-signature. It's super simple.
Cons
The customer service is absolutely terrible. There's literally no way to reach anyone directly, you have to submit a case through Client space and then wait 3-4 days just for it to get assigned to someone. After that, it takes several more days to get a response and when they finally do answer, they close your case even though your question wasn't properly addressed! I've never experienced such poor support.

“an all-in-one solution for employee needs
Pros
Everything I need is right here, my benefits, employment info, salary, documents, time off and even birthdays. My old companies used like three to five different systems for this which was a huge headache. This is so much easier.
Cons
Missing an org chart feature which would be really useful for an HR system that's supposed to handle everything people-related.

“simple and interactive for daily tasks
Pros
I find this really simple for all our tasks. It feels interactive and was easy to set up. Running payroll is smooth and the CRM integration works well for us. It's especially good for admin stuff and the support team is quick to help me in real-time.
Cons
The HR laws and policies for our region aren't available which is a real limitation for us.

“a great social hub for company documents
Pros
I really like that this gives employees a place to chat and interact socially. And having all our HR docs in one spot makes it so much easier to find what I'm looking for.
Cons
When someone leaves the company, all their posts get wiped out right away.

“Namely for Web Developers
Pros
I love the wide range of HR management tools it offers, especially for tracking employee leave or vacation time. It also simplifies the process of gathering data for reports and managing performance reviews.
Cons
The API provided by Namely offers limited customization for developers and has rate limits. If you do not have experience with such software, it can be difficult at first to understand all the functionalities of the interface.

“I feel good with this software
Pros
It is a great tool that is easy to configure and simple to use. The features are excellent and the customer service is very responsive.
Cons
There is nothing particularly that I dislike but I think a few aspects of the configuration system could be improved.

“fantastic onboarding and easy enrollment
Pros
The onboarding process is fantastic. I also love how simple the payroll and benefits are and navigating open enrollment couldn't be easier.
Cons
Wish more data would transfer over to Namely Time. There reporting options are pretty limited too.

“Highly recommended and user friendly system
Pros
I'd definitely recommend this system, it's really user-friendly and works best when you use all the features together like HRIs, Payroll, Benefits and Time tracking for a fully integrated experiance.
Cons
Hard to scale up when the business grows and finding things is frustrating with the weak search functionality.

“Everything you need in one spot!
Pros
I enjoyed using Namely because the interface was intuitive and I could easily find all documents and information.
Cons
Honestly, I did not encounter any issues using Namely. Out of all the HR/employee platforms I have used, Namely is the simplest. Everything I need is accessible and easy to find and the platform is not as complex as some of its competitors.

“simple for single-country payroll only
Pros
It works great for our Us-based company. Payroll, scheduling and documents are all in one simple system.
Cons
Working with multiple countries is basically impossible since you can only set up one payroll system and sync with a single environment. Some features are way too simple while others require clicking through tons of screens. The interface isn't easy at all which makes navigation frustrating.

“Namely is an excellent HRIS for small businesses
Pros
Namely is an excellent human resource management system. As a tech firm, we have received nothing but praise from our developers. The platform has streamlined our HR services more than ever, thanks to its intuitive reporting and various modules that allow us to focus more on strategic tasks rather than just administrative ones.
Cons
The lengthy process of finalizing API feeds has delayed the handling of layoffs and new hires with their perks across our numerous partners. Resolving this issue will also streamline our situation.

“Namely is an intuitive and simple payroll software
Pros
I really like how quickly and easily I can check my benefits and salary. I can also submit leave of absence requests with ease. The onboarding process at Namely is streamlined and helps maintain legal compliance. The payroll system I use comes with a very responsive customer service team.
Cons
Sometimes, there are too many obstacles and paperwork to submit before a change can be made. For example, we had to obtain and present an IRS authorization letter to change the company name. Filing taxes under the new name was not enough for some reason.

“smooth onboarding but benefits concerns
Pros
The onboarding process was really smooth and my customer success rep has been fantastic to work with.
Cons
I'm not a fan of the benefits team here. Really think they should reverse that Vensure acquisition, it hasn't worked out well.

“Simple HRIS that gets out of your way and lets you work
Pros
Its surprisingly easy to use and simple to teach both employees and managers how to manage performance. The integration with Okta makes the onboarding and offboarding process really smooth and polished.
Cons
It might not have as many features for time tracking and part-time employment as ADP or Trinet, but its far less frustrating to use.

Employee side of things works pretty well as long as nothing goes wrong.
