“Paychex Flex not a company for me”
Pros
When calling the phone is immediately picked up, however getting a US Representative is impossible.
Cons
Getting the help you needed is like requesting a US Representative. Very polite, courteous, however its like throwing a stone at a brick house you know it will not end well.

“clean design”
Pros
Paychex Flex has a very minimalist design which makes the interface simple to follow. It's easy to move around in the system and understand where everything is without much effort.
Cons
The only issue I've run into was when the authentication servers were down for a full day which kept us from being able to log in.

“issues take too long to resolve”
Pros
Whenever I reached out, the staff was friendly and willing to help however they could. The only frustration was that the person I spoke with often didn't seem fully familiar with the procedures or the steps needed to fix the problem.
Cons
Pricing was a concern and payroll issues took far too long to get resolved. During the time I worked with them, it was rare to speak with someone who could handle a problem right away without having to bring in other team members.

“reliable and fast”
Pros
I thought it was really easy to use when I was using this with my previous employer and I never ran into any problems. On the rare occasion I had a question, customer support was always friendly and got back to me very quickly.
Cons
Don't really have any complaints. It was simple to use and the only real downside at the time was my employer, not the software itself.

“weak support capabilities”
Pros
Using it day to day feels simple and convenient especially when tracking time on mobile. The employee self service features are also quite useful and make a lot of routine tasks easier to handle.
Cons
When something goes wrong, getting support can be difficult. We also ran into W-2 tax filing errors and the problems took too long to get resolved.

“Not worth it”
Pros
Having a single employee login for both 401k and payroll is about the only benefit. Beyond that, I really haven't found any other redeeming qualities in it.
Cons
Customer service has been terrible across every department. They have failed to deliver the services promised in the contract, including tax pay service, payroll and the 401k plan. The 401k team has made major mistakes and the level of service from everyone involved has been awful for years. On top of that they keep pushing new products on us when the ones we already pay for still do not work properly.

“Quicker payroll”
Pros
Payroll has become much faster and more automated for our team especially with direct deposit and same day pay for employees.
Cons
Honestly, there haven't been any downsides. Our employees have had no trouble using it on either desktop or the mobile app and the transition has been going very well for everyone.

“best platform we've tried”
Pros
Running payroll has been really quick and it takes a lot of the problems out of the process for our small business. It's been the best platform we've used for handling payroll.
Cons
I dont like how my account representative has changed several times. Plus they always seem to be unavailable whenever I need help.

“all in one tool”
Pros
Everything being in one place was really convenient. I could clock in and out, check my PTO balance and view my pay stubs all from the same page.
Cons
Sometimes it slows down when too many people are using the portal. When that happened, my clock out time could end up being a minute late or so.

“dedicated support reps”
Pros
One thing I really appreciated was having a dedicated customer service representative. There was always a specific person assigned to our account which made a big difference compared to our new payroll company where we have to speak with a general customer service agent every single time.
Cons
The downside was how slowly errors were corrected, along with the lack of accountability for those mistakes. We were given excuses that it was no longer that representative's job because of a promotion and since no one else had been assigned to the account, he was trying to handle both roles. That should not become the customer's problem to deal with; it is something the company should resolve internally.

“Way too complicated”
Pros
There honestly wasn't anything I appreciated about this tool. I don't have any positives to point out and I wouldn't recommend this company to any business.
Cons
Paychex Flex is far too expensive and unnecessarily complicated to use. On top of that when tax filing issues come up, they aren't resolved in a timely manner.

“makes keeping up with everything easy”
Pros
Keeping up with my pay schedule is very easy and I really appreciate being able to see all of my worked hours and documents in one place. Our practice also recently added the PEO benefit which has been a nice addition since employees can manage Empire benefits, 401K, health insurance and more through the platform.
Cons
Its hard to think of anything to add here.

“Very user friendly”
Pros
Getting into the system is fast and the platform is very user friendly. The homepage is especially helpful because it puts the things you need most right in front of you.
Cons
A few of the tabs don't seem useful to me or my employer though they might be more helpful if there were clearer guidance on how to use them. At times, I also miss the sign out option because I forget to scroll over and the same thing happens when trying to access lunch related options.

Pros
Worked well as a dependable option for uncomplicated time tracking, payroll and employee benefits management. The software also had very little downtime so issues were uncommon.

Pros
Very easy to get started with this software and the support team was fantastic to work with. It gave us strong value for the cost when it came to employee time tracking and payroll and I really appreciated that they also handled all of our required reporting.
Cons

“Easy to use for everyone”
Pros
Using this app feels very simple which makes it a solid fit for both businesses and employees and there's really no special training needed to get comfortable with it.
Cons
On older phone models in particular, it can buffer a lot or even fail to log in which creates frustration for users.

“10 years and going of Paychex!”
Pros
After almost 10 years of using Paychex, I still appreciate having everything I need in one place. I can quickly check my pay stubs, health coverage, vacation time, pay details and more without any hassle.
Cons
I do not have any complaints about the software. It does exactly what I need it to do and if I ever have a question, I can always reach out through the chat for help.

“didnt take long to learn”
Pros
Getting around the system was really easy most of the time. The initial setup was manageable and it didn't take long to learn. It also made training simple, not just for me as the manager but for other employees who needed to use it too.
Cons
Every now and then though, it had some odd glitches and frustrating hang ups. There were times when it would freeze, lock employees out or simply stop working when we were trying to onboard new hires.

“wide range of reporting options”
Pros
Made HRIS tasks super easy and the range of reporting options was really useful. Payroll processed without issues and the FSA functionality was simple to manage. I'd definitely recommend it.
Cons
Customer support could be better. Our assigned representative was dependable but whenever we needed extra help beyond that, getting additional support was difficult.

“payroll taxes made simpler”
Pros
Having their help with payroll taxes takes a lot of pressure off our team. That part of the process feels much less complicated and simpler with them handling it.
Cons
At times, getting answers from them can be frustrating because responses don't always come when you need them. You end up waiting on them for just about everything and there really isn't much control on your side to handle things yourself.
