It was like a one-stop shop for payroll and HR. I didn't have to hire extra HR staff which was great.

Cons

Customer service was pretty awful. Nobody ever answered the phones and when I left voicemails, it would take weeks to get a response, if I got one at all. Most of the time, I had to call multiple times and leave multiple messages before someone would get back to me.

Pros

I absolutely love all the benefits it offers our employees. There are so many great options that make life easier.

The cost is something I'd point out. You get a lot for the money, sure but in my opinion, it's still on the expensive side.

The online portal is vvery easy to use. The system is always up and running, and it only takes me a few minutes to enter payroll.

The billing is unclear. For anything outside of the normal payroll deductions, I have to hunt around to figure out what I'm getting billed for. Fees seem to go up every year without any explanation or notice and I end up having to renegotiate every year. Getting credits also takes hours of emails and work.

Honestly, there's nothing good I can say about Paychex. The only reason I'm still with them is that I can't leave and they won't process our organization's resolutions.

The customer service is another issue. I've only ever had one positive interaction, and that was with the agent who helped me cancel my deceased husband's insurance benefits. Their software didn't understand why a deceased employee with a death certificate wouldn't want insurance.

It's fantastic for issuing weekly or biweekly paychecks. The whole process is smooth and the program is very user-friendly.

Cons

The only downside I have with this tool is that it's always easier to access on my computer than it is on my phone. For some reason, the phone experience isn't as smooth.

The reports are really great! I find them super easy to customize based on what I need.

The modules work independently of each other. It would be so much better if I could enter information in one place and it would automatically update across all the other modules.

Tech support was a lifesaver when I needed it. We moved a couple of times and each time I needed help with resetting the timeclock. Everyone I talked to was really good at explaining what to do.

It can be confusing at first especially if you're not used to software like this. Some features feel hidden in menus or hard to find and the reporting tools could definitely be easier to customize.

The dashboard was nice and the layout showed me what I needed. It took a bit to get used to the controls, though.

I love being able to easily view my employees, pay stubs and hours clocked. At the end of the year, I can also access my W2s which is a huge convenience. It makes handling year-end tasks so much easier.

It's incredibly user-friendly! I've been using Paychex Flex for 3.5 years and it only takes me about 5 minutes to run payroll. The setup was easy, thanks to the support team. Whenever I have a question, they respond quickly and efficiently.

You definitely need to double-check with sales to make sure what they tell you is actually available. We had a couple of surprises when we first became customers. We also had a lot of turnover with key contacts which was frustrating at first, but it's all good now.
