“Paychex Flex not a company for me

Pros

When calling the phone is immediately picked up, however getting a US Representative is impossible.

Cons

Getting the help you needed is like requesting a US Representative. Very polite, courteous, however its like throwing a stone at a brick house you know it will not end well.

It is very easy to use, simple and smooth. I'd totally recommend it to anyone looking for an easy-to-understand payroll system.

Cons

The only downside for me is the login process. The two-factor authentication can be annoying for employees to deal with.

I think that it has a really user-friendly interface and I can track and adjust payroll in real time with ease. accessing benefits is also a very simple.

Cons

Their mobile version is kind of clunky. It feels like there are too many messages popping up which distracts from getting work done.

Cost feels high for a small business, especially for what you get. I'd love to see a more affordable plan for businesses with less than 15 people.

Like with any system, there are flaws but honestly I haven't really had any issues so I can't say what I dislike the most.

It makes managing payroll so easy. The mobile app is simple to use once you set it up. managing pay stubs, W-2s and PTO is simple and it has self-service tools for employees and automatic payroll tax compliance.

some of the downsides are that some features cost extra, the reports can be tricky to figure out and customer support isn't always consistent. Overall it works well but it can feel outdated at times.

The platform is designed really well and the software walks you through everything step by step even if you don't have much experience or knowledge.

Cons

I find it hard to manage reports and duplicate pay stubs or W-2s. It's also tough to recover duplicate documents for employees.

The only downside for me is that it's web-based, so I have to log in through the website every time I want to access it.

While the interface is simple and easy to use, I do find some things hard to locate and confusing. For example, past pay stubs aren't in the my Pay section but are on the homepage dashboard which can be frustrating.

It didn't break down how hours worked translated into pay, or specific taxes taken out or track accrued hours like PTO.

The price goes up quickly depending on the options and the interface is outdated, plus it takes time to get the hang of it.

Their customer service is poor. We seem to get a new rep every week and it's never consistent. Plus, it's pretty pricey considering we don't even have that many features.

The only positive thing I can say is that it's cheaper than other payroll companies and really easy to use. Other than that, I haven't had a very good experience with Paychex.

Customer support wasn't pleasant when I had to call about mistakes Paychex made. I wouldn't trust them with tax filings. The reports are really basic and for anything else, you have to call them.

I really appreciate being able to approve my team's hours while using the admin section. Its great that I can break it down by pay week or pay period. Very convenient for me.

Cons

I cant print out the specific error or the full time sheet when there are punch in and out errors from an employee. This is really important for my business since we need signatures to approve any adjustments for these errors.

Its very user friendly and I love that I can access everything on my phone. Simple to check out the details for each paycheck.

The interface could definitely be improved to make it easier for users to get used to. It feels like its designed more for employers than for employees.

What I like the most is how everything I need is right there on the website or app. I can check my W 2s, see my hours, PTO and more all in one place.

I think it needs more updates. At times while using the website or app, it feels very outdated and isnt as easy to use as it could be. It certainly has potential to be better.

I was disappointed that my sick time was not added at the end of the year especially when the pay period clearly ended on 12/31.

Having a platform to manage HR and payroll tasks is really helpful. People can easily access their information whenever they need it which makes things a lot more efficient.

Dont get the point behind separate logins for different functions. Some of the actions are a bit confusing and I feel like I have to click around a lot just to figure out how to do simple tasks.

The interface was all in one place but honestly, it wasn't the most organized. Still, it served the purpose I needed it to.

The interface seemed put together well but the setup wasn't the most efficient. It required me to click on several different things just to get to where I needed to go which could be time-consuming and frustrating at times.

It was like a one-stop shop for payroll and HR. I didn't have to hire extra HR staff which was great.

Customer service was pretty awful. Nobody ever answered the phones and when I left voicemails, it would take weeks to get a response, if I got one at all. Most of the time, I had to call multiple times and leave multiple messages before someone would get back to me.

I absolutely love all the benefits it offers our employees. There are so many great options that make life easier.

Cons

The cost is something I'd point out. You get a lot for the money, sure but in my opinion, it's still on the expensive side.

The online portal is vvery easy to use. The system is always up and running, and it only takes me a few minutes to enter payroll.

Cons

The billing is unclear. For anything outside of the normal payroll deductions, I have to hunt around to figure out what I'm getting billed for. Fees seem to go up every year without any explanation or notice and I end up having to renegotiate every year. Getting credits also takes hours of emails and work.

“No worries with this subscription

Honestly, there's nothing good I can say about Paychex. The only reason I'm still with them is that I can't leave and they won't process our organization's resolutions.

The customer service is another issue. I've only ever had one positive interaction, and that was with the agent who helped me cancel my deceased husband's insurance benefits. Their software didn't understand why a deceased employee with a death certificate wouldn't want insurance.

It's fantastic for issuing weekly or biweekly paychecks. The whole process is smooth and the program is very user-friendly.

Cons

The only downside I have with this tool is that it's always easier to access on my computer than it is on my phone. For some reason, the phone experience isn't as smooth.

I love being able to easily view my employees, pay stubs and hours clocked. At the end of the year, I can also access my W2s which is a huge convenience. It makes handling year-end tasks so much easier.

I've had issues with having to reload the app constantly. It's not a huge deal but it is kind of annoying. Other than that, I haven't had many issues using It.

The app is very easy to use! I can bring up my pay stubs and 401K information with just a few taps. Everything is streamlined and accessible, making it really convenient for me.

It took a few days after the pay period to be able to access my 401K and paycheck contributions which was frustrating.

The only thing I can think of is that it's definitely better to access the platform on a desktop rather than a cellphone.

It is decent it has many good features and the payroll processing is very smooth. The HR tools it offers are also incredibly helpful which is a big plus.

Our payroll specialist is always absent and there have been a lot of errors with our account regarding taxes. It feels like other representatives aren't willing to help either.

It's incredibly user-friendly! I've been using Paychex Flex for 3.5 years and it only takes me about 5 minutes to run payroll. The setup was easy, thanks to the support team. Whenever I have a question, they respond quickly and efficiently.

I appreciate how easy and accurate it is to use and whenever I have a question, the representatives are always quick to respond. I especially appreciate our primary Payroll Specialist and they've been awesome!

You definitely need to double-check with sales to make sure what they tell you is actually available. We had a couple of surprises when we first became customers. We also had a lot of turnover with key contacts which was frustrating at first, but it's all good now.

“Better than ADP

Pros

Running payroll from Paychex Flex is super easy because all the functions are built right in. We use Time and Attendance and Benefits Administration, so hours and deductions are automatically updated and fed into the payroll file. I can complete payroll for my 100-person team (60% hourly) in under an hour, including running all the reports.

Cons

The functionality isn't as good as other platforms like Paylocity. We switched to Paychex to integrate with our new parent company but we lost a lot of insight in the process. The manager interface doesn't offer as much visibility and the reports are pretty terrible, they can only be downloaded in PDF form.

It is pretty user friendly. All our employees have easy access online and printing the W2 form is simple. Also it is a secure product.

If reconciliation does not work we have to spend time figuring out why. And our employees could not change their tax withholding on the site and had to go through HR for that.
