flexible hiring hub that delivers real value

Pros

We're big fans of Pinpoint. The platform has given our teams, managers and potential hires a brilliant hub to work from. It's super flexible so we can tweak settings to suit our processes and roll with changes as they happen. It also surfaces data we didn't have before which lets us plan recruitment more strategically. The automated tools cut down on manual admin and free the team to focus on candidates. The Pinpoint support crew are quick to respond and helpful when we suggest changes. Overall it's genuinely brought a lot of value to our organisation.

Cons

Nothing major comes to mind right now. There are a handful of features that could use some tweaks but we're confident they'll arrive thanks to our ongoing feedback and the work we do with the team.

Should stop with frequent updates

Pros

Connecting to job boards was effortless so posting roles and going through candidate CVs was easy.

Cons

It was updated a lot which made maintaining a steady workflow hard. When we used it there weren't the AI tools other vendors offered. Also the account manager seemed absent, not sure we had one though support did act fast when problems came up.

quick to learn but customization should be easier

Pros

We liked how simple the platform was, people across our organization were able to learn and use it quite quickly.

Cons

Pinpoint didn't offer an easy way to customize features. Most things relied on preset templates that had to be modified to make changes.

Minor privacy quirks

Pros

It is really easy to use & the customer support is fantastic. Online help was super useful.

Cons

Occasionally had to add or remove items from prefilled questions. Also ran into an issue where the interviewer could see emails between recruiter and applicant and couldn't fix it.

Simple for everyone

Pros

Pinpoint is super easy to use. The layout makes sense so both hiring managers and applicants can find their way around without fuss. Being able to keep clear contact with candidates inside the ATS helped us move quicker and secure top people.

Cons

It'd be handy to switch from one candidate to another more quickly, maybe add a forward arrow so you can jump to the next candidate in the pile?

Pros

Pinpoint's AI-powered automation and easy-to-use layout are what impress most. It cuts down hours of manual screening by smartly pairing applicants with open roles.

centralized hiring with manual friction

Pros

Fits our specific needs, lets us monitor hiring across all of our portfolio companies from a single spot.

Cons

Many tasks remain manual especially around sourcing and scheduling which makes things laggy. We've also experienced several problems getting it to sync correctly with LinkedIn.

functionally frustrating

Pros

Visually attractive design. That's all for now.

Cons

Lacks a TON of core features. Updates and fixes drag on for ages. Customer support chat with Emilia is unresponsive. We've nearly been with Pinpoint a year and only just met our account manager--he never bothered to reach out until now.

great scheduling buried in complexity

Pros

The scheduler works really well, you can create booking links so applicants can pick times with several interviewers at once. For example they offer four time options and it will match them with two interviewers who are free. Also lets you feature hiring manager bios and lay out the interview steps right on the careers page.

Cons

Would be great to view candidates from multiple openings on a single screen, at the moment it's not easy to see someone across several jobs. Some parts of the user interface are confusing, it's easy to lose track of what needs changing and where and a lot can't be adjusted quickly in the moment. For example, to build an interview workflow you must create an interview template, an email template and a scorecard but oddly you really need to finish the interview template last even though it seems like it should be the main one. There are also email sections you can't change, the system pulls copy from another field in the interview template so if you want to alter that you have to exit, open templates, edit the template and start over. Even after that some pieces remain completely non-editable. Candidate notes and messages are locked to a specific job so hiring managers reviewing someone for their vacancy won't see earlier feedback or notes unless they first go into "other applications." Managers often miss context because the product doesn't support instinctive navigation. Reporting looked promising in the demo but is missing some key metrics, you have to hack progression rates between stages to track them and they're not as easy to find as in other ATS products. Automation capabilities are limited right now, with few triggers for connecting to Zapier. They have fixed some confusing choices (candidates used to have email fields split by job) but overall new features seem to be released more slowly than other ATS I've worked with.
