client-friendly payroll reporting

Pros

Getting clients set up with this product has been a positive experience because it's easy for them to use once they have it. Managing reports and working through the features is simple which makes the overall functionality very practical.

Cons

Every now and then, the reporting doesn't populate the way it should and the report parameters have to be entered again to get the right result. It can also feel a bit glitchy at times, although that does happen with technology.

all-in-one payroll value

Pros

Keeping my business finances in one place was a big plus. The system was pretty easy to use overall and it cost less than going with a payroll provider like ADP or Paychex.

Cons

The chart of accounts it created could be a little confusing at times especially when trying to sort out which accounts were being used.

Payroll running in no time

Pros

Getting everything set up was mostly easy and I was able to launch my account and start paying employees without much trouble.

Cons

A few features came with extra charges and the different subscription options for accounts and services were a little confusing at the beginning.

smooth integrations that deliver

Pros

Connecting this software with other tools has made our workflow much more efficient. We currently use QuickBooks Payroll alongside Homebase and WagePoint and both integrations work really well without causing issues.

Cons

Getting the Accounting team comfortable with the software took quite a bit of time. There was a long learning curve and it definitely wasn't something they picked up quickly.

payroll reports that really help

Pros

Using this payroll software has been very easy and the way reports are displayed makes payroll information easy to review. It feels practical, simple to work with and not complicated at all. On top of that it sends us a reminder to run payroll every month which is very helpful. If any issue comes up, the support service is also quite good.

Cons

The price is the downside. I think it works well for a large company especially if most employees are in the USA but if you only have a small number of employees, it feels a bit expensive.

payroll calculations done for you

Pros

Getting payroll done is very easy with this. You just enter the numbers, set your parameters and the software takes care of the calculations on its own.

Cons

I have noticed that, at times, deductions do not show up accurately.

Clear payroll access from one place

Pros

Having multiple payroll options and tabs available from a single screen is really convenient. The layout is clear, user friendly and gets right to the point so there's usually no need to ask for help.

Cons

The only issue we've run into is when employees sign up to access their W-2s. The system asks for an email address to send the signup link but then during registration it sometimes says that same email is invalid. It may be user error or something on our end but it works for some people and not for others.

excellent payroll for growing teams

Pros

Using QuickBooks Payroll has not been a problem and it works really well as accounting software for small to mid-size businesses that need full payroll services. The tax tables are kept up to date regularly and being able to file tax forms through online accounts is one of the biggest advantages.

Cons

One downside is that the desktop version of QuickBooks costs $500 per year which is still a pretty significant expense.

Payroll automation done right

Pros

Having payroll runs, tax filings and payments all handled automatically is a huge plus. Once the client and employees are set up in Payroll, my job is mostly just to review everything each month and save copies of the returns to share with my clients.

Cons

Getting everything configured at the beginning can be a bit confusing and takes some time. That said after going through the process once or twice, it becomes fairly easy to use.

integration looked promising

Pros

QuickBooks Payroll had a lot of appeal on paper especially with the QuickBooks concept itself and how well it connects with other software. That part seemed really valuable. Unfortunately, I never got far enough with the product to actually use it properly or see the benefits firsthand.

Cons

Although it presents itself as a simple payroll system for handling employee details and compensation, that wasn't my experience at all. It felt more like an empty template than a guided product and there was very little direction built in. Getting help from support was also frustrating as they often took days to reply and when they finally did, the responses weren't useful.

payroll access that just works

Pros

Using it has not been a problem and my employees can access what they need without any hassle. It also connects well with existing software like QBO which makes the whole setup more convenient.

Cons

Even though the software works well overall, there's still some room to improve especially when it comes to customer service.

Tax filing made simple

Pros

It keeps up with all payroll taxes and QuickBooks takes care of filing the federal forms as well as state unemployment forms.

Cons

There's a bit of a learning curve at first but once you get the hang of it, it works really well.

payroll made transparent

Pros

Handling payroll with this software takes a lot of the hassle out of the process. I can run it while I am on the go which makes things really convenient. The transparency it offers for employees is also a big plus.

Cons

I am still working through how QuickBooks time sheets connect with everything and the payroll integration option isn't displayed very clearly.

all-in-one payroll convenience

Pros

QuickBooks Payroll handles all of my tax calculations which saves me a lot of time. Since I already use QuickBooks Desktop, having everything in one system makes the whole process feel very convenient and user friendly.

Cons

One thing I'd change is the ability to import from other software instead of only QuickBooks Time. I also still have to manually submit some of my year-end tax forms and it would be much better if all of that could be filed automatically.

Bookkeeping win

Pros

Managing payroll with QuickBooks has been really easy and having it connected directly to our QuickBooks Online account makes the bookkeeping side much simpler too. It is very user friendly especially for someone handling payroll for a small or medium-sized business without having a deep background in it.

Cons

One thing that could be improved is the support around the automatic tax features. At times, it generates error messages that are pretty confusing and could use clearer guidance.

payroll stress completely gone

Pros

It really strips away all the hassle and requirements tied to payroll and tax filing. A huge source of stress and one of the biggest time drains in my business is no longer an issue.

Cons

For a small business like mine, the cost feels a bit high but it's still absolutely worth paying for.

reliable tax updates

Pros

Using this payroll software has been very amazing and it keeps everything current with the necessary payroll tax updates so tax compliance stays on track.

Cons

The only downside I have personally run into is that direct deposit should really be included in the annual payroll fee you already pay to use the software.
