“Great accountability features”
Pros
One thing this product does really well is keep people accountable since it only counts time when there's actual activity like typing or moving the mouse.
Cons
The part I don't like is that it keeps asking about every 9 minutes whether I'm still working if it hasn't detected any typing or mouse movement. I'm also not a fan of the screenshot feature.

“Helpful time tracking but glitchy”
Pros
Being able to see exactly how long my tasks take has really helped me plan my next day more realistically. I'm often late to appointments because I underestimate how much time I spend on things so having that visibility has been very useful.
Cons
At one point, there was a glitch and I had to go back and log everything manually which was frustrating and easily could have become expensive if I hadn't noticed it in time.

“Reliable time tracking and payroll”

Clocking in and out works well and it's convenient to handle payroll scheduling while also setting up team schedules and organizing teams without delays.

“Love using it”
Pros
Keeping tabs on time across different projects is really handy with this. From a home office setup, it even lets you generate invoices which is a big plus. You just pick the task you're working on and later you can review the automatic screenshots or compare how much time went into admin work versus design tasks. Really love using it.
Cons
There's honestly not much to complain about but if I had one suggestion, it would be adding smartphone integration so certain information could be tracked there too.

“Poor support...”
Pros
At first, the response to my questions was fairly quick.
Cons
There were discrepancies that never got explained clearly. On top of that, one of my time entries failed to record because of an issue on their side and there was no way to recover the missing information. I ended up having to piece together my work timeline myself just to justify my pay and I still lost some earnings because of it. When that happened, the staff was not helpful at all and we eventually stopped doing business with them.

“Mac issues and inaccurate tracking”
Pros
Seeing where most of my time goes during the workday is useful. It can be helpful for managing time and keeping an eye on computer activity while working especially in a remote setup where so much of the job is done independently. There's definitely more accountability built in and it serves that purpose well.
Cons
A few features in Time Doctor just don't function properly on Mac. Screenshots are one example, although that doesn't bother me much since I'm not really a fan of that feature anyway. The click and typing tracking can also be inaccurate at times, making it look like there was little or no activity when that's not actually the case. On top of that some versions of TD have crashed on me repeatedly, though the version I'm currently using, v0.19.09, has been fine.

“Constant crashes on mac”
Pros
At this point, my camera shots still don't work so my performance is being judged only through screenshots.
Cons
I'm stuck a few versions behind because every time I try to update, the app keeps crashing over and over. This software is clearly not Mac-friendly. I haven't had camera shots working for more than a year. I spend the entire day replying to emails yet when I look at the keyboard stroke count, it shows only 8-12 which makes no sense.

“Lets me monitor productivity”
Pros
One thing that really works well on this platform is the way it lets you monitor productivity. You can log how much time you worked and then see a solid overall summary of your activity.
Cons
The interface feels a bit confusing when it comes to navigation. It could be better if different functions and selected categories were color-coded.

“Clean interface”
Pros
Right away, Time Doctor feels simple to use, with a clean interface and simple core functions. The regular reminders and notifications, along with the detailed tracking and reporting tools, are very helpful. Users can choose when to start and stop the timer which helps keep work-hour tracking accurate. The screenshot feature is especially useful because it lets us view employees' actual screens at scheduled intervals. I also appreciate the range of data it provides since it helps us evaluate workflow and understand how much time is being spent on specific tasks. Another big plus is that Time Doctor connects with a lot of third-party apps.
Cons
A few employees have mentioned that Time Doctor can sometimes make their computers run a bit slower. The mobile app also feels less polished and less fully featured than the desktop version. Support is usually decent but there are times when it's difficult to reach the team and they don't always provide the answers we need. The pop-up reminders and notifications can sometimes feel excessive as well. On top of that, I'd prefer fixed-rate pricing instead of being charged per user.

“Simplifies project management”
Pros
Easy to handle and it works really well for tracking activity, projects and related tasks. The online portal makes it simple to manage projects, team members and screenshots all in one place. Overall it feels very user-friendly and convenient to work with.
Cons
One thing that can feel a bit uncomfortable is that anyone with admin access is able to view screenshots from your computer, along with the software you use and how much time you spend on it. That level of visibility can be a little annoying at times.

“keeps clients informed”
Pros
This tool made it really simple to show clients exactly how much time I had spent on a project and it ended up being the most convenient option for doing that.

“Easy to keep up with daily activity”
Pros
Keeping up with daily activity is very thorough with Time Doctor. It gives a clear view of what I'm currently working on and I can add new tasks whenever they come up during the day.

if you use more than one desktop, there's no option to choose which desktop appears in the screenshots.

“Accurate tracking with useful integrations”
Pros
It's very simple to use, tracks time accurately and works with several integrations, including Teamwork.
Cons

“tracking keeps failing”
Pros
The screenshot feature is useful and switching between tasks while tracking time is pretty simple.
Cons
A big problem is that the software randomly stops tracking time and there's no clear warning when it happens. The only way to catch it is by checking every single entry every day which is incredibly frustrating. They've said multiple times that a fix was coming but nothing has really been resolved.

“helps edit time”
Pros
Whenever I forget to log a project or activity or something urgent comes up and I can't enter the task right away, I'm still able to go back and edit my time without any hassle. That really helps and it also lets me show my supervisor that my time hasn't been wasted.
Cons
One thing that gets on my nerves is when I'm watching training videos and Time Doctor suddenly pops up with the coffee break prompt asking if I'm still working or taking a break. I'm obviously still working lol. The automated reminders can be pretty annoying too, although I do understand why that feature is needed in the app.
