easy to find customer info

Pros

Getting customer information is easy and it really helps a lot when putting reports together.

Cons

when reports are submitted, there isn't a digital copy provided afterward.

Brilliant referral option

Pros

The referral feature really helps make sure clients get the support they need.

Cons

The biggest frustration is the login since it sometimes logs me out before I'm finished entering information. Aside from that, the system was simple to set up and train staff on. Most of the program is pretty self-explanatory and using it feels as familiar as Facebook. I just needed to add more detail here to meet the word count requirement.

Reliable support

Pros

Our organization has been working with it for at least four years and it has been very simple for both staff and volunteers to learn and use. We really appreciate the flexibility in choosing what information gets included. On the few occasions when something came up, customer support was quick to respond and very helpful. We only wish more of the agencies in our day-to-day network were using CharityTracker as well.

Cons

When several agencies use CharityTracker, everyone needs to enter data consistently. Otherwise, duplicate files can end up being created.

clear insight for decisions

Pros

Being able to see who has already been helped is really valuable since it helps us decide whether we should provide assistance to that client too.

Cons

There are no downsides. It's user-friendly, very informative and gives us the kind of insight we need to make well-informed decisions.

Helps me stay connected with other nonprofits

Pros

Getting emails from the posts has been really useful. It helps me stay connected with other nonprofits and keep up with what they're doing.

Cons

It doesn't seem to fully line up with the kind of work we do at Habitat for Humanity especially when it comes to our housing focus.

Pros

The interface is very user-friendly and the reporting feature is excellent. It's simple to work with and makes sharing information with other agencies really effective. Since using it, our community has been able to connect and collaborate much better.

Cons

The events feature takes a bit of time to learn at first since you need to set up event types and locations before using it.

Pros

Its nice being able to connect with other agencies and keep track of the people we assist.

Cons

The biggest limitation is that not every agency in our area uses it and it would be much more helpful if they all participated and consistently completed the information.

impressive fund tracking

Pros

Keeping track of people who receive benevolent funds is much more manageable with this tool. It lets you see whether someone has already been assisted by other charities or organizations which really helps prevent duplicate payments or multiple groups covering the same bill.

Cons

Updating or editing information can be a bit tricky but aside from that, the system seems fairly user-friendly.

Helps cut down on fraud

Pros

Born from a shared need among churches and city services in Stillwater, Charity Tracker answers the questions that come up all the time when someone asks for assistance, how much help has this person already received and how can we do more than offer a temporary fix? It makes it possible to coordinate aid across organizations which helps cut down on fraud. Just as important, it creates a way for churches and agencies to work together and support people in taking real steps out of poverty.

Cons

Like any tool built around shared information, it's only as useful as the data entered into it. A lot of agencies participate but not everyone does. I have to include myself in that too, I sometimes provide help and then forget to log it in the system.

Quick information sharing

Pros

It has been an excellent tool for our community especially in coordinating efforts between United Way and the Ministerial Alliance. It helps us share information openly, quickly and effectively so people who need assistance are supported properly and scam alerts can be sent out right away to everyone using Charity Tracker.

Cons

At this point, I really haven't run into any issues with it. The only challenge has been getting more people to buy into the program and start using it.

This tool has been really useful because it keeps important information organized and accessible for everyone using it. It also includes a notes section which is helpful for sharing extra details whenever there isn't a specific field for that information.

Cons

The demographics page could be improved since it has a lot of repeated boxes and some fields that should be there for certain information are missing.

Helps ministries work together

Pros

Having a system like this that's both accessible and user-friendly makes a big difference when it comes to tracking the support being provided. It also helps different ministries work together without constantly relying on emails or phone calls especially when delays happen because someone isn't available. The layout is well organized and the separate tabs make it simple to locate whatever information is needed. Being able to add details and control who has access to see them is another feature I really appreciate.

Being able to view every type of assistance a client has received through our agency, along with support from other agencies and notes entered by other organizations using the site, is incredibly useful. Another big plus is that I can also generate reports for statistical tracking which really helps with our work.

Cons

I honestly haven't run into any drawbacks. It has been excellent to use and has made my job much more manageable.

easy to move around

Pros

Getting around the system has become pretty quick once you learn it. Since I no longer have internet at home, I can stop in at work and update a status without wasting time.

Cons

Handling multiple accounts and reviewing comments from members isn't very convenient. On top of that, a lot of those comments usually go unread anyway.
