What Is Harvey AI?

Harvey is an AI-powered legal solution that combines legal research, document analysis, contract review, and workflow automation in a single AI platform. It helps legal professionals handle document-heavy tasks, find relevant information faster, and streamline repetitive work while keeping lawyers in control of the final output. Rather than being a general-purpose AI assistant with a few legal features added on, Harvey is built around the kind of complex, day-to-day work legal professionals handle.

What Is Harvey AI Best For?

Harvey stands out for how it handles high-volume litigation document work, discovery review and case chronologies. Litigators use it to evaluate complaints, review and categorize discovery materials, analyze deposition transcripts, and identify gaps in legal or factual arguments. This helps legal teams surface critical information faster and spend more time on case strategy and decision-making.

Harvey AI Use Case

Based on our analysis of user feedback and Harvey's current capabilities, we have identified key scenarios where this software is a good fit for legal teams:

In-House Departments Managing High Contract Volume Without Adding Headcount

For in-house legal teams in various industries, the number of contracts coming in can quickly become difficult to manage with the same-sized team. The problem isn't always a lack of legal expertise. Often, it is simply the amount of work waiting in the queue. Harvey's contract intelligence tool assists with reviewing incoming contracts against a company's preferred playbook, identifying clauses, and suggesting changes that lawyers can review and apply.

Litigation Teams Preparing For Depositions

Litigation teams preparing for depositions may need to review large volumes of emails, pleadings, transcripts, and other case materials to understand a witness's role in a matter. Harvey can analyze these records to identify relevant facts, inconsistencies, and gaps, then help draft deposition outlines grounded in the underlying documents. Lawyers can review the cited material and refine the questions before the deposition.

Legal Teams Tracking Regulatory Change Across Multiple Jurisdictions

Multinational companies operating across multiple markets need to know when a regulation shifts in any one of them, and what it means for existing policy. Harvey can analyze evolving regulations across 100+ jurisdictions and 12,000+ source authorities, tracking changes over time and surfacing which existing contracts or policies are affected.

Transactional Teams Handling High-Volume Due Diligence

M&A and other transactional teams often need to review large volumes of contracts and corporate documents within tight deadlines. Harvey can help analyze these materials, surface relevant provisions, and organize key findings, reducing the amount of manual document review required. This allows lawyers to spend more time assessing risks and advising on the transaction.

Is Harvey AI Right For You?

If your legal team spends significant time reviewing contracts, analyzing large document sets, and researching across jurisdictions, Harvey can be worth considering. It already supports more than 200,000 professionals across 2,400+ legal organizations and is trusted by clients such as A&O Shearman, Dentons, PwC, P&G, and O’Melveny. The platform meets SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and ISO 42001 standards, alongside GDPR and CCPA compliance.

Contract Intelligence

Contract Intelligence handles the full lifecycle of contract review: intake, first-pass analysis, negotiation support, and portfolio reporting in one connected workflow. Assistant

The Assistant feature enables users to ask complex legal questions, upload documents for analysis, and generate drafts based on the provided context. Lets me search various topics

Pros

Harvey really helps me get quick search results on a wide range of topics. I often use it for 'contract provision' searches and it's been super helpful as a starting point for drafting contracts.

Cons

Sometimes it misses some of the finer details in the law so I make sure not to rely on it completely. It's a great tool but I always double-check things independently.
