Support team is of next level

Pros

Using Turbo Law for years I switched to LEAP several years ago and have never wanted to go back. There is a bit of a learning curve at first but the support team has been outstanding and their response times are reliably quick. As a probate attorney in Massachusetts, it has been especially useful for making my workflow more efficient and for preparing documents to file with the Probate Court. Five stars without any hesitation.

Cons

A few things could still be improved such as at timesitcan be slow to load from time to time anditwould be really helpful if sender information could automatically carry over into the header on the second page and following pages of letters and forms.

fully integrated and compliant

Pros

After trying several other legal practice management systems, this is the first one that has felt truly integrated from end to end. Trust accounting in particular has been a standout since other platforms never handled that well. I must say it is easily the most complete practice management software I have used and its trust accounting and reporting tools help keep us compliant with LSO requirements.

Cons

The only real downside is thatitcan take a while to load anditgets a little glitchy from time to time. Considering how powerful itis, I can understand that tradeoff butit's still my one complaint.

provides excellent support

Pros

LEAP keeps improving and the way it's adding AI has been genuinely useful for creating better efficiency across our team. The support we get from our account manager has also been excellent.

Cons

Technical support is often very efficient but if an issue needs to be escalated, resolution can sometimes take longer than expected.itwould be better if the technical team could get onto your machine more quickly instead of relying on chat. The product is also on the expensive side compared with other options but if you make full use ofisuch as precedents, workflows and the built-in AI features the efficiency gains do help balance out the cost.

good but can be improved

Pros

Running the firm through LEAP has made a real difference because it brings our daily operations into one fully integrated platform. We rely on it for everything from compliance and billing to staff productivity and it supports the way we deliver services to clients. Having our information centralized in a single source of truth, plus the ability to connect with so many leading programs for client service and internal reporting, is a major part of why the system works so well for us. Consolidating our tech stack this way has delivered significant value to the firm. The help desk is also very responsive by email.

Cons

A few areas are still frustrating especially the limits around reporting. Some reporting features are too restricted and the lack of customization options or the ability to have PowerBI reports created is a real downside. The community model, where you need to collect 'upvotes' before a sensible feature request or issue gets addressed, is not ideal either. Pricing has also increased sharply over the last five years. On top of that some of the integrated partner tools in the marketplace, while they do create strong synergy and reinforce the one-stop-shop approach, depend on costly third-party integrations with very few alternatives. DocuSign is a good example, now costing around $7 per envelope when other options in the market are less than half that per document.itis definitely a premium product and you really need to be usingitat full capacity to justify the value rather than focusing on the expense, assuming that is realistic. Another drawback is not being able to call the help desk when something is urgent or hard to explain since support is only available by email.

Fantastic support and navigation

Pros

Right from the start LEAP felt exceptionally user-friendly. As it was very easy to get around the platform and handle different tasks without dealing with a big learning curve. One feature I especially appreciate is the help option on every page since it makes it quick to get answers without having to leave whatever screen I am already working on. Their customer support has also been excellent. Reaching the team by email is easy too and they've consistently been responsive and helpful whenever I have needed assistance. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a well-supported and hassle-free experience.

Cons

I have noticed the recent update made things worse. it now takes more steps to access the accounting function in the program.

Can access it from anywhere!!

Pros

Having all case work, time entries and disbursements in one place makes daily work much more manageable. Everything is right at your fingertips across the whole firm, no matter where you are and being able to work from anywhere in the world is a real advantage.

Cons

The biggest frustration is the login delay anditcan be quite slow during use. There are also times when even after clearing the cache, itstill won't let you work because the server cannot be reached which causes delays and stops work altogether.

Comes with strong legal tools

Pros

Whenever help is needed someone is there and the team is consistently friendly and patient. Technical support and training are always accessible when needed and my recent training was a perfect example, led by a very accommodating, friendly, patient and engaging trainer. The system is able to store far more information than we would ever realistically need which is a real benefit and it covers just about every aspect of legal work. it is fairly easy to learn, pleasant to look at and manageable to use while multitasking across many clients. it is also simple to amend, delete or add files and documents and it works well alongside Outlook.

Cons

From the admin side even simple tasks can feel long and complicated. Basic actions like merging or moving clients, documents or files can be awkward. I usually have to work through the Client Card, while the fee earners work through Matters. Storing physical Deeds and documents against a reference is not very clear or easy to follow and labels don't get generated automatically in a clear way. The reference system doesn't feel efficient for the large amount of paper documents that need to be stored, both short and long term. There might be another method I just haven't discovered yet. I know there is still a lot more to the system than I currently know or will probably ever need to use. Even after 3 years, I am still learning new things so I would be open to any ideas or alternative reference storage methods within the system.

powerful AI and legal research

Pros

LEAP has been simple to navigate and the feature set is impressive especially the AI tools and legal research capabilities. The training is thorough and the support team has also been excellent whenever needed.

Cons

The cost can be on the high side but the product is strong enough thatitstill feels worth the investment. Asitcontinues to grow, italso seems to demand more powerful hardware to keep everything running well.

helpful support, frustrating freezes

Pros

its interface is user friendly and easy to navigate so it works well for both new users and people with more experience. The layout makes sense and helps keep everyday tasks moving efficiently. Another big positive is the support team as they are consistently responsive, helpful and usually very quick to step in whenever something goes wrong.

Cons

That saiditstill has ongoing performance problems that get in the way of daily work. We often run into issues opening documents especially Word and Excel files anditfreezes often enough that restarting the program becomes necessary. There have also been cases where documents seem to save properly but later turn out not to be saved initat all which means extra time spent troubleshooting, tracking files down or recreating work. Those kinds of issues are disruptive and definitely hurt efficiency.

Pros

Joining the office hours sessions has been really beneficial especially with the hands-on live demonstrations showing the product in action.

Cons

Bringing together two extremely powerful tools is still a challenging work in progress. These sessions have helped me realize I am not doing anything wrong as it's just that the product is still being developed.

Secure for file collaboration

Pros

Having documents stored directly inside the client file makes file management much more practical for lawyers and support staff. Everyone in the office can access communications as well which really helps with collaboration on files. The overall system is thoughtfully designed and secure. As a busy family law clerk, I'd absolutely recommend it to others in the legal field.

Cons

My computer does lag from time to time which creates some minor frustration. That saidI must say it includes brilliant integrated features.

billing and approvals are the best

Pros

Billing is much easier now. I can pick exactly which clients to bill from a list that matches the reports section in LEAP which makes the whole process much more practical. it is also helpful that I can send an invoice to a coworker for approval and then finalize it. Once that's done, I can send the invoice directly to the client inside the app, with a payment link and automatic receipt. Overall it's convenient and works very well.

Cons

One thing still missing is an ongoing audit log on the notifications page. I'd really like to see that added, along with a few other features that my coworkers and I think would be useful.

Pretty strong and decent tool

Pros

LEAP has felt like a really strong product because it's very user-friendly and puts everything we need in one place. The integrations with other platforms work very well too and the support from the team has been outstanding.

Cons

What we preferred before was when the Productivity and Accounting tabs opened in the same window instead of separate ones. I feel like it would also help if pending requests showed a temporary balance on the client account so when several requests are being handled at once, we can make sure the account doesn't go negative.

Has great legal workflow tools

Pros

it has a lot going for it especially the built-in accounting, helpful categories, document management tools and the overall ease of use. One of the biggest advantages is how well it supports teamwork across the office while also making client and file management much more efficient. Overall it's a secure platform and our lawyers can work from home or other remote locations without any trouble. Tasks like preparing Bills of Costs which used to take a very long time, can now be finished in minutes with only small edits needed at the end. Once staff spend a little time getting familiar with the system, they really enjoy using it. Even new team members with no legal background have said they learn it quickly. it's fairly easy to understand the main functions and then build your knowledge from there. I also really like how it uses AI in practical ways, such as helping find a specific email or reference inside a large file. I am not looking for AI to write things for me so having it help with file organization is actually useful and saves time. Since opening my new office three years ago, I have had to contact support several times because of tech issues and they have always been quick and helpful. We also just went through our first renewal and were a bit nervous about it but the meetings were helpful and the renewal price ended up being reasonable. We expected worse so overall we were pleased.

Cons

To keep this balanced, I do have a few small frustrations with it. Such as the default connection to Adobe is annoying because we use a different, more affordable PDF service. There are also a few other software tools we rely on that still don't transfer directly with it. Another inconvenience is that we cannot upload court documents straight from it. We have to save them to the desktop first, then upload them through the court services system. it is frustrating but in the bigger picture of document management, it's not a huge burden. Another ongoing annoyance is that whenever it pushes an update, we usually have to involve our local it provider because it often interferes with our cybersecurity setup. We have managed this by letting our it provider know each time an update happens so they can be ready to deal with any issues. The problem is that this happens almost every time it updates and there often isn't much notice beforehand which makes planning harder. We are lucky to have a very good it provider so it hasn't become a major issue for us but I can easily see it being more difficult for smaller firms or offices that handle their own it support.

Pros

It has been very user-friendly. Also the document management features have been incredibly useful and the customer support has been exceptional. Overall it has genuinely helped take our law practice to the next level.

Cons

Every now and then, theupdates create glitches with Microsoft Office suite apps. I also wish there were one report that pulled together all of the trust account information needed for the Law Society of Alberta's annual self-report. The LSA Export tool is excellent butitonly covers one part of the annual report.Plus itwould be much better if the remaining information were available in a single report instead of having to go through three separate reports for each trust account.

divorcemate integration is excellent :)

Pros

For family law work in BC, the best part of LEAP is how well it connects with DivorceMate. That makes a big difference when handling support calculations, agreements and court forms because you don't have to keep switching between different systems. And the all in one setup is another real plus. Moreover matter management, billing and document automation are all in one place which is especially useful for small firms that want everything centralized. Once the system is set up properly, the document automation tools and templates can save a lot of time. Routine paperwork like separation agreements and client letters becomes much quicker to prepare. Support is usually responsive and the onboarding resources are available if you are willing to put in the time.

Cons

it definitely takes time to use it as it is not very user friendly at first and getting workflows and templates to run the way you want can take a lot of effort. Customization can also feel limited or awkward unless you are well trained on it. On top of that there are occasional performance problems like lag, glitches or items not saving properly which can be frustrating when things are busy.

Pros

Working in LEAP has been very easy and my favorite part is how customizable it is. Every setting and option can be adjusted to fit the specific needs of the law firm I work for. I also really like being able to add my own precedents in just a few clicks and the integration with the Microsoft products I use all day is a big plus. Compared with the software I used before, I spend far less time on admin work and data entry.

Cons

One thing I'd still like to see initis a clearer view of a client's remaining retainer balance in the trust account when opening the accounting tab, instead of having to generate a preview invoice first. I previously used ULAW and honestly that was the one featureithandled better whenever you opened an active matter, the trust funds balance was shown right away even if no invoice had been created.

Well I ran into a few glitches betweenitand Word but those have since been fixed and I can now confidently sayitis an excellent software.

highly efficient tool

Pros

LEAP has been very user-friendly and easy to work with. Whenever we've had any issues, they have been handled very quickly online, with a follow-up call when needed which has been really reassuring.

Cons

There aren't any real downsides toitbecauseitworks as a very efficient case management system. If anything, the only limitation is that we probably aren't usingitto its full potential yet although that's something we expect to do going forward.

All case files in one place

Pros

Having every case file consolidated into a single platform has been a huge benefit. it also makes it simple to check other attorneys files when they're out of the office and a client needs assistance.

Cons

The templates can be difficult to work with especially whenitcomes to formatting. I usually have to rely on my paralegal to make revisions and clean up the format.

powerful features and constant improvements

Pros

LEAP offers a really powerful set of features so you can use just the basics or take full advantage of everything it includes depending on what you need. Another big plus is the development team behind it as they are excellent at listening, updating and consistently working to make the software better over time.

Cons

One limitation is that it still does not work with Google Calendar and only works with Microsoft Outlook. Our firm uses Google for both email and calendar and I know many smaller firms do the same. And I would really like to see it work with Google Calendar as well as other major scheduling platforms.

useful AI and practice tools

Pros

Coming from a family law firm perspective, DivorceMate was the main reason we switched but the AI features and practice management tools have turned out to be very useful as well. After moving over, we've really come to appreciate the software overall.

Cons

Our move from CLIO was challenging in the beginning especially with data migration but that was also partly because we were one of the first firms to adoptthis tool.

responsive support

Pros

Whenever training comes up or an issue needs attention, the team is very much reachable and makes sure it gets fully resolved. Their response time is quick and having one dedicated representative assigned to the firm is something I really like.

Cons

There are still some recurring glitches with the Microsoft Word and Outlook integrations. On top of that the QBO upload feature is occasionally paused or doesn't work when needed.

Pretty decent software

Pros

After 10 years of using LEAP, I still like having the whole file managed from one screen including emails and financials. Plus it keeps everything in one place and makes daily work much more convenient.

Cons

Lately I feel likeitis getting harder to keep up with. There are so many features now that we do not really know how to use and about half of the new buttons are not useful for our workflow.itis also disappointing that we still cannot text clients like you can with other products. On top of that the glitches seem to be happening more often and some forms are dropping out of automation as the technology keeps changing.

powerful legal tools and security

Pros

Having everything in one secure platform is a big advantage for a modern legal practice especially with the built-in AI and backup included. it also comes with useful legal features such as secure document sharing, document drafting and research tools which makes it a strong all in one system.

Cons

itis not very user friendly and has quite a few glitches. its integration with Microsoft Office apps is especially unreliable, as saving documents intoitfrom Outlook, PDF or Word is not easy and often involves a small pop-up window with no clear destination folder. In accounting, dockets often have to be entered multiple times before they submit properly. One of the biggest limitations is thatitstill depends on the classic version of Outlook which is outdated and restricts full use of Microsoft Office applications. Another ongoing frustration is thatitswindows always open in awkward default sizes so they need to be manually adjusted every time which is inefficient. Search history in Matter AI chat cannot be accessed by other users anditshould really include general accounting instead of making firms rely on QuickBooks. Some tools, such as the legal costs calculator, are harder to locate than they should be. The online support resources also need to be organized better so users can find information more quickly and the instructions foritstools should be clearer given the confusion around different jurisdictions like the UK, Australia and Canada. Bundle Pro still needs significant technical improvement, itis often difficult to get back to the main file menu within matters and customer service should be more available and faster when users need help.

Helpful templates !

Pros

it is a user friendly tool and quite efficient, plus the layout is simple to navigate. The templates and shortcuts are especially useful and help save time throughout the day.

Cons

One issue I have noticed is with searching correspondence. At times, itcan be hard to pull up a recent piece of correspondence related to what you're looking for.

paperless workflow and tracking

Pros

Having file contents instantly available is a big advantage. I mean working in a paperless environment makes everything more convenient and the tracking features are very helpful. Communication between users also works very well.

Cons

The accounting package still has room for improvement which is why I am only givingit4 stars. Finance charges should really be set as a default.

helpful support & rich features

Pros

its customer service has been quick to respond. The interface is also clean and there are plenty of features to work with. The support during the move from our old platform was well organized too making the transition much easier to manage.

Cons

Getting used to everything does take time. There are a lot of features available which is a big plus but the training did not cover all of them so there is definitely a learning curve.

user-friendly with handy integrations

Pros

Working in it has been very user friendly for me. Having the accounting information in a separate tab is also really helpful and the integration with QuickBooks is another feature I really like.

Cons

The reporting can be a bit tricky at times andit's not always easy to locate the exact report you need. Even with that, I would highly recommend switching toit.

better document and email handling

Pros

Having our Word documents and emails managed outside the program works very well for us. Also now it is much easier to coordinate when multiple people are involved and keeping track of emails is far simpler this way.

Cons

One thing that could be better is the trust accounting side. When requesting a cheque, itdoesn't flag an incorrect bank selection the way other programs do and an alert for the wrong bank would be really helpful.

useful features but too buggy

Pros

One thing LEAP does well is bring document and matter management, time tracking and billing together in a single platform. it also has quite a few genuinely useful features especially the option to create and customize templates that work a lot like mail merge in Office. The Divorcemate cloud integration has also been a feature I have really appreciated.

Cons

Getting started withitfelt at times like using a product that wasn't fully finished yet.ithas been very buggy. its integration with Microsoft Office is weak and those connections regularly trigger random errors or even crash Microsoft Word. I have had to fully uninstall and reinstallitmultiple times whenitgets stuck or refuses to update properly for no clear reason. For instance, I have had new matters not appear after logging in, only to find them later by searching archived matters.it's also frustrating that I cannot open multiple windows within a matter because that makes moving documents between folders more difficult thanitshould be. Performance also drops if the internet connection isn't strong and overallitdoesn't feel user friendly since many tools aren't located where you'd normally expect them to be.
