Users can select a specific point of law within a controlling case to trace legal precedent. This ensures that subsequent citations are related to that particular issue. In addition, they can choose a practice area topic and retrieve relevant documents, as well as add topics to searches before setting up Alert updates and reviewing content directly from the topic hierarchy.

Brief Analysis reviews an uploaded brief or litigation document and checks its citations and quotes against the LexisNexis database. It returns research recommendations on a dashboard. Plus, it surfaces other briefs, pleadings, along with motions with citation patterns or legal concepts similar to the uploaded document.

Alerts notify users when new or updated documents match a saved search. Coverage spans case law, legislation, as well as regulations, and secondary sources. These can be further filtered by jurisdiction and practice area. Alerts can be paused or managed from a dedicated page.

It flags negative treatment and confirms if the authority is valid. It also pulls up citing references so attorneys aren't relying on a case that's been overruled or limited. In May 2026, LexisNexis added Shepard's Verify Trust Markers. It runs the same check on AI-generated and attorney-drafted content. This functionality color-codes keyword matches within a document and maps them on a navigation bar. In turn, users can gauge relevance from the density and clustering of colors before reading a word. They can also click on a color to jump to that passage directly.

This applies NLP and visualization tools to LexisNexis's legal data. It includes Ravel View for citation mapping, the Verdict, and Settlement Analyzer for litigation risk. In addition, the Litigation Profile Suite is included for judge and attorney profiles, as well as the Legislative Outlook, which estimates the probability of a bill passing at each stage of the legislative process.

Searches, documents, Shepard's reports, and other activity are saved automatically for up to 90 days. These are viewable as a list or a visual research map. This feature is especially useful for picking up where a prior search left off or checking whether a research pass was thorough.

Users can browse the tool by source, topic, and jurisdiction. They can view sources alphabetically or by publisher and jump to a document table of contents. Filters for jurisdiction, practice area, or document type can be applied before or after a search to cut down irrelevant results from the start.
