Pros
Honestly I find pretty much everything about this program excellent. The layout is clear and so easy to navigate. When I occasionally can't figure something out, the support team always comes through. From time tracking to client records, relationship management to reporting, whatever feature you think of, it delivers. Having worked with over 150 law firms of all sizes across theS., I can confidently say this is the best legal software I have found.
Cons
One thing I'd change is the matter naming rules, I'd prefer more constraints because otherwise we wind up with dozens of slight variations of the same label. For example, 'Civil litigation' appears in maybe forty different forms which makes searching and reporting messier than it needs to be.

“All-in-one access for solo practitioners”
Pros
Managing my solo practice has become ridiculously simple thanks to this all-in-one solution. I have everything I rely on, client contact details, billing records and my calendar, right at my fingertips and the app keeps all of it accessible to me 24/7 on my phone.
Cons
I genuinely can't think of a single thing I dislike. Honestly it has made practicing so much easier than I'd ever thought possible.

“easy-to-use iPhone app & helpful support”
Pros
I really like how easy it is to use, the iPhone app works smoothly and the tutorials and layout make getting things done simple. The support team is helpful whenever I need them which makes the whole experience feel reliable.

“Outstanding customer service & multi-monitor workflow”
Pros
There are so many things I enjoy about it that it's hard to list them all. At the top is their outstanding customer service, seriously, it's that good! I love being able to use it across two or more monitors so I can work on different tasks at the same time. The interface is clean and simple to navigate. Setting up workflows is easy and I've customized it to fit the way I work. Multiple time entry screens save me a ton of effort and exporting time and expense records to excel is very useful. The mobile app is great when I'm away from my desk and task and deadline alerts go straight to my phone. On top of all that, the price is excellent and the team keeps releasing helpful updates. Their tutorials have been really useful too.
Cons
What bothers me most is that the dashboard doesn't automatically refresh to show the new day when I start work, I always have to manually refresh. Also, there are several fields that I can't edit anymore (I messed them up earlier and now want to fix them). Occasionally I lose time entries when my computer crashes although I'm not entirely convinced that's Panther's fault. It would be great if there were an automatic background save feature to prevent that.

“simple, flexible billing software”
Pros
Great tool and I'm impressed with how simple the billing software is to operate. It's easy to use, flexible and I can tweak it to match my specific billing needs without any stress.
Cons
Occasionally I run into glitches that force me to split my billing into smaller parts which ends up taking a bit more of my time than I'd like.

“Clean interface & customizable workflows”
Pros
I really like the interface's clean, neat look and it's great that I can adjust my workflows to match exactly how I work.
Cons
It would be really helpful to have an option to host everything on a private server instead of depending on Box, being able to reach it over our VPN would make a big difference for security and access. I also wish the automation features were more flexible, for instance, I want to send clients personalized emails with attachments and useful details ahead of particular events rather than relying on the standard reminder message. Additionally, giving me the ability to create conditional logic for specific events so actions can vary based on context would eliminate a lot of manual work and better fit complex workflows I manage.

“simple UI with automation features”
Pros
The user interface really stands out for me and the program is simple to operate. It also offers lots of automation features which makes managing workflows easier whether you're a solo practitioner or run a bigger firm. My team and I are always looking for ways to boost efficiency and it has given us tools to do just that.
Cons
Because I don't use any Microsoft products, the fact that it won't accept a Pages document as a template really frustrates me. I realize Pages files can be exported to Word and saved in that format but when I do that the layout and formatting get completely altered. If this platform supported Pages files natively for creating templates, it would make my life a lot easier and be something I would genuinely welcome.

“Lack of founder understanding frustrates me”
Pros
It looks polished at first glance but I've noticed some gaps in features needed for running a law firm. For example, invoice discounts apply to the whole bill instead of just fees which isn't practical. Support suggested workarounds that don't always fit my needs. Some timers are glitchy and overall it feels like a lot of features were added without proper refinement. Many functions work only about halfway and it's clear the product wasn't built with legal experience in mind. I'd like to see practicing attorneys involved in product design to make it more practical. I might return if they addressed these issues and improved key features.
Cons
What frustrates me is that the founders and creators clearly lack any genuine understanding of the nuanced realities of running a legal practice.

“Dashboard highlights unbilled time”
Pros
One of my favorite things is how the dashboard shows unbilled time and flat fees. When I moved my data from another system, it helped me recover several thousand dollars I might have missed. Small amounts of unbilled time were piling up quietly and this made it obvious. The interface feels natural and while support is excellent, I rarely need to contact them because the tutorials guide me step by step.
Cons
However the migration process wasn't flawless I found that if a contact had more than one phone number, the system created a separate contact for each number which was a issue to clean up. I also had to redo my invoice numbering because it doesn't allow dots, dashes, or similar characters in invoice IDs (so formats like '1750-March', '1750-01', or '1750.02' won't work). Another limitation is there isn't a built-in e-signature option which would be handy.

The software has been easy and flexible for me. It works across Mac, Windows and other platforms and the support team has been amazing. Since switching, I've seen a noticeable increase in billable hours, about 45 percent.
Cons
Honestly I can't think of anything I dislike about this software, it's overall excellent.

Pros
One thing I really appreciate about this program is some of the built-in features, like being able to bill by hourly rates and I can download and send invoices directly from inside the software.
Cons
Honestly this software comes with a lot of weird glitches that still look unfinished and in need of fixing. It crashes or freezes on me now and then and I can never get the sidebar timer to work properly no matter what I try. I've also experienced trouble generating invoices depending on how payments were entered into a client's profile and although PayPal/support tells me this is normal, I think it's incredibly unfriendly and confusing for users. It often feels like the company is more focused on defending or justifying these flaws than on fixing them which I find really frustrating. To top it off, I think the program is pricey for what it delivers.

“smooth QuickBooks integration & confidence in finances”
Pros
What I really appreciate is how easy it is to use and how smoothly it syncs with QuickBooks. I'm no trained bookkeeper by any stretch, yet it lets me handle finances confidently and makes me appear more competent than I actually am.
Cons
For my small office I feel the cost is on the high side which makes it harder to justify the expense given our limited budget.

My firm had been using PCLaw for almost twenty years and we eventually got so frustrated with it that we started hunting for a replacement. I contacted several vendors to see what options existed. From the very first interaction with this tool, they felt head and shoulders above the other companies and their software matched that impression. Because it's web-based, I can use it easily away from the office and on my mobile devices. It's so simple that no one on our team needed formal training. The client portal is especially handy, clients can check their invoices and payments themselves which cuts down on a lot of time we used to spend on customer service. I honestly can't say enough good things about it.
Cons
My only real issue is that some of the terminology can be confusing. For instance, all receipts are labeled as retainers and write-downs appear as credit notes that display like payments which can be misleading. The QuickBooks integration is great but this tool isn't a full accounting system so a few reports are a bit light on detail and depth. That being said, I communicate these concerns to support and they do take steps to address them and work on solutions.

I've never had it fail on me, it just works reliably every time and I find it incredibly simple to use, nothing else I've tried comes close to its ease.
Cons
That said I wish the main screens were adjustable, being able to reformat and customize my dashboard so it fits my daily workflow would be amazing and much more useful for me.
