Instant time capture, easy billing

Pros

I appreciate how it captures time instantly, lets me go over invoices and payments easily and even has a handy tickle system plus a calendar.

Cons

Okay so.... I'd love to see more reporting features so I can pull reports for each individual client or matter.

excellent support with simple CrM setup

Pros

Their support is excellent, the CRM links are easy to set up and the software itself is very user-friendly, I genuinely recommend it to anyone.

Cons

I'd love for them to add built-in contact signing functionality directly into it.

Centralized files, clear accounting

Pros

everything for a client file is stored in one place and simple to access. One feature I really appreciate is the accounting summary on each matter. From that screen I can immediately tell how much trust balance remains, whether the client should top up an evergreen retainer and how much has been billed on the file. As a visual person practicing family law, every case brings different financial quirks. This tool helps me keep track of the finances and stay on top of the $$ involved in each matter.

Cons

One thing I find frustrating is that Matters act as the central method for interacting with clients. For the kind of practice I run, mostly individual clients instead of an insurance company handling lots of related files, it makes it a bit clumsy to get straight into the specific case details. I'm currently experimenting with different shortcuts and workflows to make this feel faster and more simple.

Unstable and unfinished software

Pros

Honestly, I can't find much about this platform that works well for me. even basic things, like searching the calendar, feel awkward and often don't work properly. When I reach out to support, I usually get a generic response saying they can't see the issue on their end which leaves me feeling brushed off and frustrated.

Cons

For me, this program felt like it was released way before it was ready for prime time. Simple features, like the calendar search, are still labelled as things they're 'working on.' The software is unstable and I have to log out and back in constantly, shut down browsers, restart my machine, etc. It's absolute garbage.

easy billing with strong support

Pros

From my experience, updating client information is easy, payments go through smoothly and they're automatically applied to invoices. Creating and managing invoices is simple and the training courses cover every feature pretty well. Whenever I've contacted support, I've felt that they were attentive and took the time to help me thoroughly.

Cons

So far, I haven't come across any downsides or issues with the software up to this point.

Pros

Personally, I find it easy to pick up and for me the customer support has been the strongest part. They're responsive and genuinely helpful whenever I reach out.

Cons

Sometimes I wish there were a few more options for customizing invoices but it's not a deal-breaker

Easy transition for teams

Pros

What stood out to me right away was how approachable the layout feels even coworkers in my office who never had any formal training were able to jump in quickly and now I see them using the system comfortably without any issues.

Cons

Logical design !

Pros

For my day-to-day work, the software feels simple and logical and I honestly think their customer service sets a very high bar. Any time I need help, I feel taken seriously.

Cons

There aren't any major issues for me, although I'd really like a Windows app the way there's one for Apple.

All-in-one tool with fast support

Pros

Having one program handle billing, scheduling, contacts and more has been extremely helpful for me. I no longer have to bounce between multiple apps and I really value how responsive support is. When I send a question through chat, I usually hear back within minutes and AJ in particular went above and beyond for me, even after I sent a long list of questions.

Cons

I definitely need to spend more time watching the introductory videos so I won't have to depend on customer support as much anymore.

Centralized client access anywhere

Pros

One thing I really value is that all my clients stay organized in one searchable place. With the mobile app, I or anyone on my team can pull up client details from a phone while we're in court or out of the office.

Cons

I do struggle at times to locate certain features, the layout can be confusing until you get used to it. Also, I can't upload documents straight into the database, instead I have to sync a Dropbox account to store and access files.

feasible design simplifies work

Pros

Getting the hang of this software was surprisingly easy for me, as the simple design meant I didn't need tutorials to add clients or open new matters. Being able to link fields to templates so details auto-populate documents has made my day-to-day work far easier and much less stressful.

Cons

Contact structuring has been a drawback for me, as limiting primary contacts doesn't suit a setup where one client oversees many properties with separate managers and the billing, refunds and invoicing workflows could be more logical and aligned.

Faster billing!

Pros

Our team has several favorite features we rely on daily. Being able to access Box through the Panther Mobile app is a big one and sending quick text reminders to clients about appointments and deadlines helps a lot. For me, the biggest win has been how much it shortened our billing cycle, we cut the time it takes to review pre-bills, send invoices and get paid by about half.

Cons

As a larger firm that's migrated case management software multiple times, we found the transition and adoption to be pretty tough it does make it simple to import and export data as CSV files which I like for building custom reports but it also meant a lot of upfront work cleaning and reformatting records from our old system before importing into Panther. Also, at least as of Summer 2018, the QuickBooks sync felt a bit basic and could use further refinement.

Pros

What I appreciate most is how customizable the system is. Since I work in a fairly specialized area, I was able to adjust things so the software fits exactly how I need to work.

Cons

Cloud-based access improves collaboration

Pros

I'm really impressed with the cloud-based setup. It's a huge improvement over dealing with a dedicated server and I can log in from anywhere to grab what I need while I'm on the move. Because of that, our team feels more connected and chats are clearer which has made collaboration much easier for all of us.

Cons

We could definitely use stronger support. Most of the time we rely on the chat to get help and what usually happens is we receive an immediate link to a knowledge article while we wait. That can be useful sometimes but more often it doesn't truly resolve what we're dealing with. Still, overall the support resources are of some value.

easier than competitors to adopt

Pros

After testing free trials from a few other well-known platforms, I personally felt it was easier to handle and offered more features. The video walkthroughs helped a lot and I even had a couple of phone sessions early on that made getting started much smoother.

Cons

Because it's so feature-packed despite being user-friendly, I had to spend quite a bit of time learning all the capabilities it offers before I felt fully comfortable using it day to day.

Automation saves billing time

Pros

Using it, I can move around the system easily and keep all my important details neatly organized. I'm a big fan of how much it automates, especially when it comes to tracking billable hours and sending invoices which saves me a noticeable amount of time.

Cons

At first, it annoyed me to discover I had to include a 'participant' when sending a secure message via the client portal. But since I learned the process, I don't consider it much of a issue or an issue to deal with anymore.

Pros

From my point of view, it is easy to work with, even for lawyers who aren't great with technology. I find it simple to navigate which makes daily tasks far less stressful.

Automated billing and reminders!!!!

Pros

I've found the interface very approachable and many tasks happen automatically for me. Things like sending invoices, reminding clients about unpaid bills and handling online payments are taken care of without much effort on my end.

Cons

Right now I can only use the english version which limits my ability to work in my preferred language.

Responsive support

Pros

I really appreciate the knowledgeable and friendly support team who answer my questions quickly and thoroughly, even late in the day. I also like being able to see when a client has opened an invoice or set up their client portal which keeps me informed.

Cons

For me, the fee structure and overall cost are a bit high, I also have to pay upfront to secure the lowest rate which is a drawback.
