“Easy to import data”
Pros
Getting our existing data into the system was very simple and the whole setup process took very little time. The interface is simple to navigate and the abbreviations for repetitive time-entry wording save a lot of effort. Customer service has also been outstanding, with proactive communication that really stands out.
Cons
I'd still love to see more flexibility in reporting especially the ability to customize reports or filter details at a more granular level. It would also help to save reports that we use regularly. On top of that, import and export options could be expanded across all areas since things like timekeepers and abbreviations can't currently be imported.

“Best legal billing software I've worked with”
Pros
After more than 20 years in the legal field and using a range of billing programs, TimeSolv stands out as the best legal billing software I've worked with. It's user-friendly, practical for both law firms and their clients and incredibly responsive to real-world needs. If there's a feature you need and it isn't already included, their team is quick to listen and often adds it in an update before long. I also really appreciate the webinars. Whenever they introduce something new, they provide free training sessions so users can fully understand and make the most of the latest features. They've clearly built this program around feedback from countless firms and professionals and it really shows in how well it performs.
Cons
Anything we had previously been unable to do in TimeSolv has since been addressed. Their team genuinely values client feedback and consistently rolls out improvements based on user suggestions.

“Simple yet comprehensive”
Pros
It keeps things simple while still giving me everything I need to track different billers, billing rates, clients and more. The interface is user-friendly and I appreciate that it doesn't force me into the kind of rigid, overly detailed workflow that I've run into with other billing, timekeeping and project management tools.
Cons
The QuickBooks sync didn't work the way I expected it to. In the end, we chose not to sync it with QuickBooks because it would have meant sending invoices through TimeSolv which wasn't something I wanted to do. Still, the workaround was simple so it definitely wasn't a deal-breaker.

“All client details in one place”
Pros
Entering time is very simple and it's easy to run reports, check expenses and payments and keep all of our client information organized in one place.
Cons
I do wish the search tools were more advanced, like being able to pull up all new clients added during a specific week. Deleting an old client can also be a bit tricky.

“Handles our small firm well”
Pros
Running a two-person office, this has handled exactly what I need it to do. I used Timeslips before and then Chaos Legal and TimeSolv fits my workflow exactly the way I need. The abbreviations and snippets are excellent and the program is very simple to work with. Creating invoices is excellent as well and I appreciate having options to send them either by paper, email or both. I really have had no problems at all. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a time tracking and invoicing program. I enjoy using it and the customer service has been excellent. Their follow-up and outreach when I was a new customer were outstanding.
Cons
At the end of the day, it is focused on time management. I am moving over to a law practice management system that already includes integrated time and billing so I will probably stop using TimeSolv even though I would prefer to keep it. The pricing for TimeSolv is reasonable but when full law practice management software costs only a few dollars more each month, it no longer makes much sense for me to pay for both.

“Easy to set up matters”
Pros
Getting clients and matters set up, entering time and handling invoicing all feels very user-friendly and simple to work with.
Cons
I still struggle with the time entry screen not having a date field. You have to select the date from the calendar and while that can be helpful, it would be better if there were a date field that auto-populates and could also be edited. Because of that, I've accidentally logged time under the wrong date more than once.

Pros
Its very user friendly, keeping it running has been just as manageable and using it day to day feels very convenient.

“Timesaving software”
Pros
TimeSolv works really well for entering time each day. Recording time in it is quicker than the other attorney billing programs our office has used which saves time overall. It also lets you bill zero charges when professional courtesy needs to be applied.
Cons
A number of features either do not work properly or are not very user-friendly. The retainer account feature is especially weak. Because it performs so poorly, finishing the bills still takes around four hours and too much has to be entered manually. Another frustration is that if you move from one page to another without saving first, the information gets lost. I also dislike that, right before sending bills out, we have to use the "print" function instead of having a preview option. That means downloading from print, then voiding back to draft and only after that sending it to the client by email. The email option also does not seem to be encrypted. On top of that, there is no integration with box.com.

“Clunky case setup”
Pros
Using TimeSolv is fairly simple and the time-tracking feature is especially useful when I need to bill for longer stretches of work. I also appreciate being able to see all of my billing for the day on a single screen. The expenses entry screen though, is not very effective.
Cons
whenever I create a new case under an existing client, I have to add that client's contact information again for the new case. That creates extra work and feels inefficient. I also have not seen any way to attach a contact that already exists in the TimeSolv system. On top of that, I wish the billing view were more customizable and better organized. Having to click through the TimeSolv calendar one day at a time to find billings is inefficient and there should be a simpler, more organized and more customizable way to review them.

“Slow matter lookup frustrations”
Pros
Being web-based is helpful because it lets us work across multiple offices without needing costly dedicated data connections.
Cons
Entering time is more complicated than it should be and the matter lookup in TimeSolv is painfully slow. We have several thousand matters and sometimes the system sits there "thinking" for 10 to 20 seconds while searching for the right matter before time can be entered. The reporting tools are decent at best but they really should be much stronger. Integration with other software, such as tax programs or QuickBooks, is miserable and basically nonexistent.

“Can enter time through desktop TimeSync app”
Pros
Getting around the system is very simple and setting up client accounts doesn't take much effort. One feature I really enjoy is entering time through the desktop TimeSync app. It makes logging time to a case much faster. Really excellent product!
Cons
We still rely on QuickBooks for writing checks and handling accounting so I'd love to see TimeSolv offer those functions directly at some point. Until then, it works very well alongside QuickBooks.

“Remote access to features”
Pros
Being cloud-based makes it convenient to access the full set of features remotely. The interface is simple to use and the invoicing process is flexible and works well.
Cons
Reporting is a bit limited and I would rather have more advanced reporting options available. Trust management is also less user-friendly than time entry and billing although it still covers what we need.

“Ease of use stands out”
Pros
Its ease of use makes it stand out most. Training new employees on timekeeping is quick and they can use it just as easily from a phone as from a computer.
Cons

“Missing quickbooks invoicing link”
Pros
Entering time and expenses is fairly simple, the interface is clear and the monthly view is helpful. Having billable hours added at the bottom is also a useful touch.
Cons
The biggest problem is the lack of QuickBooks integration. I need to create invoices in QuickBooks using the recorded hours and completed work but that is not possible. We have to generate invoices directly in TimeSolv and there is no way to include past-due accounts receivable since our books are maintained in QuickBooks.

“Feels like a complete client management platform”
Pros
Being able to automatically launch a running timer makes it simple to start tracking billable time for clients right away. On top of that, having space for contacts makes it feel like a complete business and client management platform in one place.
Cons
At times, the platform is a bit slow to load and that can get in the way of keeping my client time entries accurate.

“Stable and consistent”
Pros
I really appreciate how consistently it works. It doesn't keep rolling out flashy changes or unnecessary upgrades that force everyone to relearn the system. We've been using it for years and have stuck with TimeSolv because it just keeps doing the job reliably.
Cons
Nobody really enjoys tracking time but TimeSolv makes that part pretty simple. Since we don't use it for invoicing, it would be helpful if the accounting features could be disabled or turned off.

“Plenty of capabilities”
Pros
It delivers pretty much everything you'd expect from an enterprise-level big law billing system but with the convenience of being cloud-based.
Cons
There's not a whole lot to complain about. If anything, I'd like to see more detailed options in the NetDocuments integration. The trust billing replenishment feature can also be a bit confusing for clients at times.
