Cooperative support team

Pros

Right from the start, the customer support team was cooperative. They handled our full data migration which made switching over much more manageable. On top of that, the time tracking and billing features perform far better than what we had with our previous software.

Cons

Calendar feels a bit awkward. If an attorney has an event, support staff have to be added to it even when they are not actually involved. Otherwise, they are unable to make updates if anything about the event needs to be changed.

Billing shortcuts and stellar support

Pros

Time tracking and billing are easily my least favorite parts of practicing law and I usually dread dealing with them. TimeSolv is the only system I've used in my career where I've actually managed to stay on top of it consistently. A big reason it works so well is the excellent tech support, plus the shortcode feature that lets repetitive entries be added automatically. Creating invoices, tracking trust deposits and recording payments is also very simple. They even provide API access and a sandbox environment so you can test automations. I genuinely love both this software and the company behind it.

Cons

The one part that has been very disappointing is TimeSolvPay. Deposits can be delayed for months at times but the system only reflects the payment itself and does not account for the delay.

Convenient for timekeepers

Pros

Coming from TimeSlips and Clio, this softwre feels like a really convenient option for timekeepers. From the administrative side, trust accounting is simple to manage and keep updated. It combines the cloud accessibility I appreciated in Clio with the simplicity that made TimeSlips useful.

Cons

Reporting is where it falls short for me. On a monthly basis, I usually have to run multiple reports and then merge and adjust everything in Excel just to get the data I need.

Modern and user-friendly timekeeping

Pros

Compared with the four other timekeeping systems I've used, TimeSolv feels the most current. The layout is user-friendly and, in most cases, very user-friendly. Creating new time entries, payments and expenses is quick to do which matters since those tasks come up every day.

Cons

I still have to watch closely the date I'm entering against. I was used to a calendar view where the week starts on Sunday instead of Monday so I've accidentally logged time on the wrong date a few times. Thankfully, it's a simple correction once I catch it.

Accurate tracking across projects

Pros

Managing several projects at once is much more doable now and I can log my time accurately for each one.

Cons

Getting everything configured correctly takes a lot of effort but once the setup is finished, it runs very well. One thing I miss is being able to see my co-workers' time entries like before since not having that visibility can lead to double billing issues.

Increased billing

Pros

Since switching to this, my billing has increased quite a bit because I'm actually remembering to log everything now. Entering time by typing is also far more convenient than digging around for a timesheet.

Cons

I can't set up some of my own payment codes, such as Zelle, Cash App or Venmo.

Useful training resources

Pros

Getting around it feels easy and the training resources and support team make the experience even better.

Cons

A few invoicing quirks can make things more complicated, like outstanding balances not always carrying over consistently but they're manageable enough to work around.

Can log my time from any computer

Pros

Being able to log my time online from any computer is very convenient and it also takes away the stress of having to worry about data security. The software is very quick to learn, with a short and simple learning curve. On top of that, the live online help is knowledgeable and very easy to reach when needed.

Cons

My only real complaint is that I'd like to see support hours extended especially to include weekends.

Ability to see work hours

Pros

Quite simple to get the hang of and I really appreciated being able to see the total time I had worked throughout the month. The timekeeping terms were also easy to follow and made sense right away. Overall I'd say it performs about as well as other competing products.

Cons

One thing that bothered me was not being able to enter more exact, odd-numbered time amounts since it would automatically round to an even number. That made me a little uncomfortable because it sometimes felt like I was getting credit for time I hadn't actually worked.

Amazing LR integration

Pros

Getting around it is not hard. It integrates with LR, the layout is easy to read and overall it works fairly well. I'm honestly not sure what else this survey wants me to add so I can move on to the next screen but those are the main positives for me.

Cons

The Sent Invoices section should be improved. The total amount collected and the total amount outstanding only appear on the last page and they really need to be visible on every page of Sent Invoices.

Keeps record of billable hours

Pros

Keeping track of billable hours each day has been really useful when month-end review comes around and it's time to submit everything to the state. The system keeps the information organized and consistent and it also shows the remaining available hours for wrapping up a case.

Cons

At times, it can be confusing to figure out how to separate pay scales between employees and mentees. That said customer support has been very responsive and usually gives clear, helpful guidance that makes the issue easier to sort out.

Split billing done right

Pros

A big reason we rely on it is how well it manages split fee billing. Most of our matters need that setup and it handles it really well. With the online billing system we used before, we had to manually enter and divide time between two clients so this has been a huge improvement.

Cons

A few bugs have popped up but the team has been very responsive and quick to work on fixing the issues we've run into.

Lets me adjust entries

Pros

One thing that's been really useful is being able to adjust time entries afterward especially when a timer keeps running by mistake. It also makes it simple to generate a document that clearly shows how many hours each professional billed to a client.

Cons

Every now and then, it has some odd refresh issues and it logs me out faster than I'd expect.

Superb lawpay integration

Pros

The LawPay integration has been really useful and customizing invoices and sending bills is very simple. It also does a good job with user management and report generation which makes the whole system work well for our needs.

Cons

Every now and then it runs a little slow but aside from that I really don't have any other complaints.
