Good for small or simple projects!

Pros

The software is Direct to use and learn, allowing for easy application and interactive slider creation. The results are professional, with ample configuration options for output.

Cons

The interface might seem a bit outdated, like it's from a decade ago, but creative individuals can still undertake substantial projects. Some features are limited, and for complex tasks, this might not be the ideal software.

Great software for great learning experiences

Pros

Storyline is user-friendly and enables fast creation of interactive learning. Its interface, reminiscent of PowerPoint, helps new users feel at home.

Cons

Small to medium-sized businesses with less frequent e-learning needs might struggle with the ongoing subscription cost. Lowering the price point would be beneficial.

The tool I've always wanted to master

Pros

I've been following the eLearning Heroes blog for years and am thrilled to finally work with this software. The 360 product comprises multiple tools, including the flagship Storyline program, Rise, and Studio. The suite offers desktop and web versions to suit different needs. While I haven't explored all the features extensively yet due to being in a new role, I'm excited about the possibilities. What sets this sophisticated tool apart is the exceptional support available. From regular training sessions to a wealth of information on the eLearning Heroes blog, the support system is outstanding. In my experience, customer support has been responsive and guided me through issues step by step until resolved.

Cons

There's a steep learning curve with Storyline, which is why opting for the 360 subscription makes sense. While there are ample learning opportunities, mastering the product seems like a multi-year endeavor. Cost-wise, it's a significant con. Affording or justifying the cost can be challenging, despite it being a top tool for instructional designers. The pricing structure doesn't cater to lowering costs for individuals. Fortunately, my current employer covers the expense; otherwise, it would be out of reach for me.

Great Tool for Content Creation

Pros

With our new focus on Instructional Design, we're leveraging Storyline to engage our learners in training. Learning to use Storyline has been effortless for me, especially since I'm already familiar with PowerPoint. Its similarity to PowerPoint makes it accessible for everyone, and I've even trained a few new users myself.

Cons

When we created emulators and encountered an error, it was quite challenging to resolve. Although there's a supportive community out there, I wish the assistance was more personalized.

The tool I've always wanted to master

Pros

Having followed the eLearning Heroes blog for years, I'm thrilled to finally have the opportunity to work with this software. The 360 product includes multiple tools, including the flagship Storyline program, Rise, and Studio. The suite offers desktop and web versions, catering to different needs. While I haven't explored all the features extensively due to being in a new role and focused on other tasks, I'm excited about the possibilities it offers. The best thing about this sophisticated set of tools is the exceptional support available for learners and users. Articulate offers frequent training sessions on how to use the various programs included in 360, and the eLearning Heroes blog provides a wealth of information. The support is also outstanding, as I experienced when I received a flash drive full of files from an old Articulate Presenter project in my new job. Despite the dated files and my learning curve with the product, a Customer Support Engineer patiently guided me through the issues until I could update the training for our new LMS.

Cons

There's a steep learning curve with Storyline, which is why the 360 subscription is essential. While there are numerous learning opportunities, mastering the product seems like it'll take a few years. The major downside is the cost, which has always been a barrier for me. Luckily, my current employer covers it; otherwise, it would be out of reach.

Storyline

Pros

Learning to use Storyline is straightforward. With a sizable user base, there's ample online support available. I also enjoy the shared community examples.

Cons

Storyline can feel a bit dull for e-learning. While you need to incorporate interactions, it can still resemble PowerPoint if you're not careful.

eLearning Design made easy

Pros

This subscription simplifies the process of creating remarkable eLearning courses. Whether it's quick cloud-based courses in Rise or more intricate development in Storyline, the ease of use is unparalleled.

Cons

As always, the subscription cost could be lower, but fortunately, it's not exorbitant. I do wish they'd retire Quizmaker though.

Truly the best authoring tools!

Pros

Articulate 360 suite encompasses all the necessary tools for creating top-tier e-learning and then some. It's intuitive and requires minimal time for new users to become proficient. One feature I recently discovered and now adore is the translation function. With a simple button, I can easily translate the entire course content into multiple languages, including audio with closed captioning, which is invaluable for companies requiring training in different languages.

Cons

Honestly, I can't think of anything I dislike about this software.

In our new Instructional Design initiative, we rely on Storyline to engage our learners in training. Learning to use Storyline has been a breeze for me, especially since I'm very familiar with PowerPoint. Its similarity to PowerPoint makes it easy for everyone to learn, and I've even taught it to a couple of new trainers.

Best tool for developing modules and for e-learning domain

Pros

It's the best tool for developing modules of any level with ease and in less time compared to other tools on the market. With layers for interaction and a responsive player, it's essential for staying ahead in the market, eliminating the need for multiple developments like other tools.

Cons

There's both an online and offline tool variant. The online version gets the most updates, but the offline version takes time to receive them, so users need to adapt their modules accordingly.

Articulate 360 - One Stop Shop for E-Learning Courses

Pros

What stands out about Articulate is its ease of use. It's clean, clear, and perfect for creating engaging training materials. The ability to add voiceover in Storyline and graphics/widgets in Rise enhances interactivity. The project review feature streamlines client feedback, enhancing project efficiency.

Cons

Sometimes, I wish we had the option to add voiceovers within Articulate, particularly in Rise. We often receive client requests for more voiceover options, and the current widgets don't always function as expected. However, these are minor glitches usually addressed promptly by the Articulate team.

Easy to Use. Good and Plenty of Features.

Pros

Articulate has excelled in making its product easy to use with a great UX/UI. With the 360 suite, there are robust design tools, a review tool, an asset bank, and more, all conveniently accessible. The UI of content development tools allows for quick creation, and courses can be published, reviewed, and previewed with just a click.

Cons

Firstly, the pic/video embedding feature has limited resolution, so courses aren't in HD. Secondly, Articulate Rise lacks some features to support multimedia needs. For example, it doesn't allow background audio, although you can use Articulate Storyline for that purpose.

Amazing software that begs you to make interactive HTML5 courses

Pros

The subscription model's consistent updates and support are something I deeply appreciate. The interface of the multi-state object within the platform exceeds that of Captivate, introducing an extra level of functionality and user-friendliness that greatly enhances the overall experience.

Cons

It's quite expensive for a freelancer, and the publishing options can be confusing, especially for packaging courses correctly for Captivate Prime LMS.

Know Power point? You can do this!

Pros

Creating assessments and sharing files is seamless with this tool. Its PowerPoint-like interface makes it accessible to proficient PowerPoint users, streamlining the process of creating training tools.

Cons

The first time I was introduced to the tool, it felt complicated, but to be fair, the person showing it to me wasn't a proficient user. I stopped using it for a while. Recently, I attended another training session on how to use the tool, and I realized it was easier than before.
