Solid documentation

Pros

Cornerstone offers a very capable platform with plenty of flexibility for implementation and future growth. With enterprise software, a large feature set can often feel overwhelming but Cornerstone does a good job of supporting customers through strong documentation and knowledge-sharing resources. The documentation and training modules are user-friendly and cover a broad mix of topics, from basic end-user guidance to system administration and more advanced areas. Their customer community is also a real plus, with incentives for experienced users to contribute which makes it much simpler to track down useful answers. Overall one of Cornerstone's biggest strengths is that it doesn't just include a wide range of features, it also gives users the resources they need to actually learn and use them well.

Cons

That said even with such a powerful system, the level of direct support from Cornerstone can feel quite limited when a question falls outside what's already covered in the forums or training classes. On top of that, when certain functions in the platform behave unexpectedly, responses from Cornerstone can take longer than they should.

helpful community and support

Pros

One of the best parts of Cornerstone OnDemand is the support available from both the Cornerstone team and other users. Whenever a question comes up, you need advice, want a recommendation or just want to hear a best practice, there's usually someone ready to help. That support is available either one-on-one or through the Client Community which makes it very valuable.

Cons

A couple of issues stand out. Product updates sometimes get released before they are really close to matching the current version in parity and the wait times for Global Product Support can be longer than expected.

Good, but not great, replacement for SABA

Pros

It is easier to locate assigned training and monitor completion, including time spent and courses finished.

Cons

Dealing with incorrectly assigned training and no effective way to filter out unnecessary content. Sometimes, the system freezes when a new window opens to display content.

Well-organized training tracker

Pros

Cornerstone gives me a clean, simple place to see all the training courses I'm required to complete. The layout is clear and it makes it simple to check and manage the status of each training.

Cons

Having to manually type in my username and password every time I sign in and complete a training is frustrating. It feels tedious and takes more time than it should.

Frustrating to use overall

Pros

It lets us create all our classes and send emails to users directly from the site.

Cons

Cornerstone really needs a mass edit option and a more user-friendly setup. Even though I pick up technology quickly, this system still feels frustrating to work with. A lot of the time, I can't remember how I completed something before because the process isn't user-friendly. When managing sessions, there should also be a simpler way to copy them without accidentally changing the original.

Does what it needs us to do - some challenges

Pros

Implementing Cornerstone was beneficial for us since we didn't have an LMS previously. It streamlines processes such as online registration for instructor-led training, adding completed courses to transcripts, and tracking attendance.

Cons

There are numerous challenges with setting up automatic assignments for training and other required tasks, especially with new hires.

A bit on the difficult side

Pros

As a corporate trainer, transitioning an eLearning catalog into Cornerstone LMS was part of my responsibilities. I found the finished product and the software's user interface quite appealing.

Cons

The system was not very intuitive for me to use. I'm not particularly tech-savvy, and I struggled to set things up in this system. It was quite frustrating.

cornerstone

Pros

I appreciate how this platform facilitates learning new skills and acquiring information, particularly as a visual learner. The interactive options, such as quiz questions, enhance the learning experience.

Cons

Occasionally, the system fails to register a completed training task, although this has only occurred in one instance.

Cornerstone to learn

Pros

The software's navigation and usability are commendable. It's effortless to view assigned training and deadlines, as well as to search for and enroll in other courses and classes. Tracking progress is also straightforward.

Cons

The process of signing off after completing a course or class is not as straightforward as it could be. You have to go back, open, scroll, and then click to sign. It would be better if there were fewer steps to access this signing function. I often forget to sign off after completing a training session.

Best in breed LMS

Pros

The learning processes are well-conceived, tied to competencies and user profiles, with useful and robust reporting.

Cons

Matching user types with individuals in profiles was cumbersome and time-consuming. This feature should be improved, as it's crucial for an LMS.

The Black Hole LMS

Pros

The contemporary look and layout suggest ease of use.

Cons

When not managed properly, this LMS can become disorganized, allowing operations to upload anything they deem appropriate. Anyone using this software must have a designated HRIS - LMS team member to maintain organization.

Cornerstone LMS Review

Pros

I found the reminder emails helpful, and the training sessions themselves were straightforward and easy to follow.

Cons

The homepage feels cluttered, making it difficult to locate trainings amidst all the information presented upfront. However, it is worth mentioning that I'm unsure if this clutter is due to my company's settings or Cornerstone's design.

LMS for Salesforce

Pros

For me, Integration with Salesforce is a plus point. The temporary licensing system is cost-effective, allowing licenses to be reallocated when users aren't actively taking courses. Compatibility with SCORM 1.2 facilitates the use of previous LMS software training courses.

Cons

In our previous software, the training department managed the software. Since this tool is integrated with Salesforce, we now depend on our Salesforce administrators.

The platform is simple to use, the practice sessions are helpful and the SCORM support works really well.

Cons

As an end user, it works quite well overall although I've run into issues with mixed scripts before.

Simplified everything for me

Pros

Right from the start, this software made everything feel much more manageable. I can locate what I need quickly and move through the system without any trouble. It was so simple to use that I really didn't need any training to figure it out.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints. It does lag once in a while but I'm pretty sure that has more to do with the internet connection than the software itself.

Meets the requirements for every stakeholder

Pros

Overall the system works well. It's fairly user-friendly to navigate and generally covers the needs of stakeholders at every level.

Cons

A few of the processes feel a bit buggy and performance tends to slow down on shared computers. Troubleshooting support also ends up being a regular part of day-to-day use.

Slow progress

Pros

Having an LMS in place has definitely been helpful and the Office Hours program adds real value.

Cons

New features often seem to launch without enough consideration of user feedback so the enhancements end up only being useful in one fixed scenario instead of more broadly. Ongoing pain points also stick around for years, with little sign that the underlying design flaws will ever be addressed.

Clunky platform and absent support

Pros

After three years using Cornerstone, I honestly can't recommend any part of it.

Cons

The interface feels buggy, the platform seems outdated and support is basically nonexistent. A competitor once called it the "Cadillac of LMS systems," and I originally took that as praise. Now I'm pretty sure they meant it handles like a boat, just like a Cadillac.
