“Quality Software for Small to Mid-Size Businesses”
Pros
Fishbowl's integration with QuickBooks is the feature I appreciate the most. It's perfect for small to mid-sized businesses that have outgrown QuickBooks' inventory management but don't want to invest in an expensive ERP program. Fishbowl offers location-based inventory tracking, multiple vendor assignment to items, customizable bill of materials, flexible pricing rules, reorder points, and order up to levels. The software also supports plugins for third-party programs. The support team has improved over the years, responding to support tickets within an hour on average.
Cons
Fishbowl does have some weaknesses in certain areas. One notable drawback is its QuickBooks export connection, which, despite improvements, still requires occasional restarts. Additionally, software updates can introduce bugs that may cause unexpected issues. Another aspect to consider is that Fishbowl's accounting functions are relatively basic, relying heavily on QuickBooks for more complex accounting tasks. Assigning the wrong QuickBooks accounts to items in Fishbowl can lead to accounting headaches. The software lacks the convenience of directly mapping transactions to expense accounts, requiring the creation of items and subsequent mapping. While Fishbowl has made significant progress in these areas over the years, occasional quirks and challenges may still arise.

Pros
While I haven't extensively used it yet, the inventory cycle count process in Fishbowl was remarkably easy.

The login process is unreliable, and having to purchase multiple users becomes impractical as the company grows. The software's appearance also feels outdated.

“Fishbowl ease”
Pros
Having used Fishbowl for a few years now, it was a breath of fresh air when we switched from our previous software. I can't even recall the frustrations we had with the old system. It's great to leave those frustrations in the past.
Cons
Data entry fields behave inconsistently. For example, some fields automatically select all previously entered data, while others place the cursor where desired. The Ctrl+Z shortcut cannot be used to undo typing mistakes.

“Customer Service”
Pros
I appreciate the ability to track all orders, including fulfillment and inventory status.
Cons
I dislike that old orders placed in the previous year but received in the new year cause an error when QuickBooks is locked for the previous year. This single error halts all other operations, which is a significant flaw in my opinion.
