“RealTrac is on the Real Track

Overall, the software is user-friendly and provides us with all the job costing and production information we need. The ability to export to QuickBooks is a valuable feature.

Creating reports can be burdensome, especially since it's not something we do every day.

Pros

The software is comprehensive and constantly improving. RealTrac actively seeks customer input and incorporates suggestions as needed, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction. The parts of the software that I have used are exceptionally well designed.

Cons

It appears that they manually configure the window instead of letting Windows handle it. As a result, the minimize/maximize/close buttons appear duplicated in the middle of the window. Additionally, when I maximize the window, I lose a portion of the screen because it doesn't recognize that my taskbar is on the right. Moreover, the report generator could be more intuitive. I consider myself computer literate and a power user, but I haven't been able to figure it out or explore its full capabilities, which demonstrates its complexity.

The reporting functionality is lacking, and the Realtrac team struggles to accommodate customization and improvement requests.

When used properly the software has multiple functions and allows for effective linking of information.

The software experiences glitches and issues more frequently than I would prefer. It takes a considerable amount of time to learn and understand all the modules and how they are interconnected.

The Load Charts is very simple to use and incredibly helpful. Dragging and dropping drawings and other documentation is effortless and beneficial.

Cons

Managing materials and inventory is challenging. It should be possible to assign multiple units of measure to a part, as we often purchase in one UOM and use or sell using a different UOM. MRP should provide a list of required items by vendor and there should be a purchase option within MRP. When creating an estimate, a complex estimate feature would be useful. The report screen should only display printable reports and not a bunch of reports that cannot be printed.

Pros

I appreciate that this software offers simple search functions, is intuitive, stores a variety of information, and provides multiple reporting options.

Cons

The reports are of poor quality. When running reports in Excel, they contain merge functions that prevent transferring information to another Excel sheet. I always have to manually copy and paste one line at a time. I have requested improvements from Realtrac but I haven't seen any updates so far.

Pros

The ease of use and document control are impressive. I can easily make prints and make packaging instructions available to the shop floor without any confusion.

Cons

The reporting functionality needs further improvement. Some reports are cumbersome and not easily customizable.

The level of customization is exceptional. I have the ability to determine how much of each program component is applicable to my specific situation.

It would be great to have a way to archive old jobs. Our daily backup size exceeds 50GB.

“Great System, Everything We Needed Without the Crazy Complexity

Pros

Tracking the time spent and cost of individual jobs is a very simple process. Shop floor staff have no issue clocking in and out of operations because it's quick and straightforward. RealTrac is everything we needed without unnecessary complexity. Finding the right balance between functionality and complexity is challenging, but RealTrac has perfected it. The developers are highly responsive to feature requests or any rare glitches. They're great to work with and actively provide useful updates. The network license allows us to install RealTrac on as many computers as we want. Additionally, even if we exceed the number of licenses, we still have a grace period of up to 10 minutes before anyone gets automatically booted. Unlike other network licenses from different companies that won't even let you log on, RealTrac provides that grace period, which is fantastic. The training is not billed hourly; it's essentially unlimited. We can easily conduct the training remotely, saving us thousands of dollars.

Cons

There is a lack of a centralized analytics center for mining all the data we generate (different sections of the ERP can create reports). However,I am aware that they are releasing a new reporting platform to address this issue.

Pros

This tool has significantly eased my workload. I can effortlessly track and manage inventories with its excellent features and functions.

Cons

I highly recommend upgrading the interface event though it's still acceptable. It may be expensive, but it's worth it for tracking purposes.

I can handle all aspects of my business in one place with ease. Scheduling, ordering and mainly job tracking are seamless. The transition from one area to another flows well and the user interface is pleasant. The Rightboard feature is fantastic for showcasing our offerings and scheduling. Additionally, the customer support is excellent.

Cons

Navigating between tabs can be cumbersome. It would be great to have the ability to delete quotes, and customizing forms can be difficult.

Getting up and running quickly was something I like the most. The customer support is highly responsive. The software allows for exporting to QuickBooks and the Shop Floor module is straightforward to use.

The reports lack flexibility. Not all fields are available on every report, and user defined fields are missing.

The software has some fantastic features, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to fully experience them due to poor integration.
