“Redzone experience for section leader in a fruit packing factory

Pros

I thoroughly enjoy the huddles as they provide an opportunity to interact with my team leaders. I can review relevant data and pinpoint issues on the line, while also understanding how I can support my team members in running the line more effectively.

Cons

The system doesnot allow us to set the product T Max when starting product runs. This function is restricted to admin users, and it takes some time to get used to this aspect of the system.

Redzone is exceptionally easy, providing a visual representation of our factory. We can monitor live data, enabling quick reactions to any issues that arise. The system has improved communication and collaboration among team members, leading to a more efficient and productive work environment.

Cons

The contractor we hired has been disappointing. They made promises to come and complete the snag list but never showed up. Consequently, we have been working with poor-quality data.

We appreciate the easiness and highly customizable nature of the Redzone admin app. It has made our coaching experience with the onsite coach effective and efficient. The compliance module has guided us towards a paperless environment, making data retrieval a breeze.

Cons

Redzone is only limited to Apple devices which are expensive. The initial project calls were not very detailed and we needed a better understanding of the system to provide the right data for upload.

Pros

Redzone has positively impacted worker productivity by monitoring quality checks. In the past, paper checks could be easily neglected or filled in at the workers' discretion. With Redzone, checks are programmed to ensure they are completed and any missed checks are recorded. The dashboard simplifies management, allowing us to view checks on one page and easily manage exceptions.

Cons

Some situations are not very practical and we have to adjust our working habits to accommodate the system. For instance when counting units and entering the data on paper, we can mark in increments and provide the final value at the end. However, with Redzone, we can only enter the final value, which could lead to potential mistakes.

Redzone has facilitated our transition to a paperless system, resulting in cost savings on paper and providing more accurate and reliable data. We have the flexibility to program checks according to our preferences and monitor their completion by the designated individuals. The app also streamlines the filtering and searching of historical data, eliminating the need for extensive administrative work in digitizing paper records.

Cons

We encountered difficulties in copying specific sections of the data sheets, particularly triggers and the capability to mass upload option lists. This limitation becomes evident when we need to set up triggers for locations with multiple SKUs running simultaneously.

Redzone has eliminated the need for paperwork and saved us hours of manual work. Data retrieval is effortless, and the system allows us to design triggers for failed checks, ensuring the appropriate users are notified to take corrective actions.

Cons

Setting up the paperless checks took a significant amount of time. We had to prepare different option lists, product specifications and data items. However this is a one-off process, and we can easily make changes at a later stage.

Previously, we relied on manual processes for everything, which consumed significant hours of administrative work. Since implementing Redzone, we now have instant access to production data, allowing us to utilize our time more effectively. The system's ease of use and the support provided during coaching sessions have been exceptional.

Cons

It takes some time to get used to and learn about the admin app.The initial setup requires precise data to be uploaded into the system. During huddles or meetings, there can be a bit of pressure to type a lot of information in a short amount of time.

Redzone has facilitated communication between different departments, streamlining the process. The tablets have made production and health & safety checks more convenient, even offline.

Cons

Upfront, it requires a substantial time investment to prepare the compliance templates. Additionally, additional training is needed for Power BI/cloud reports. The software also has certain limitations.

The compliance module is an excellent tool for paperless documentation of various quality information, such as photos, videos, and text. The timing functions ensure timely execution of quality checks, and creating new checks is relatively straightforward. There is a wide range of structures and formats available, allowing thorough and efficient documentation of any task. The downtime communication, problem tracking, and communication tools (like huddles) are highly effective.

Cons

Our environment is not complex or highly automated. It's a fairly simple system so tracking OEE wasnot very impactful and probably not worth the high cost.

Redzone Sales exaggerated the effectiveness of Redzone in inventory management according to our management team.

Pros

Redzone has been instrumental in our GMP practice transformation and digitalization process. We love how we can use it to track actions identified during audits and assign them to the appropriate users. The app's search and filtering capabilities, along with Power BI integration, allow easy access to information based on dates, problems, and solutions.

Cons

Getting accustomed to the compliance module takes time and the initial setup of data sheets can be time-consuming. Fortunately, our Redzone coach helped automate some processes.

We are impressed with the real time data provided by Redzone, enabling us to quickly address any issues. Additionally, the Chinese language support and dedicated Chineses peaking coach have been invaluable. The coach's professionalism, industry knowledge, and unwavering support throughout the journey have been exceptional.

Cons

Like any new technology it takes time for our front line team to adjust and strong leadership is necessary to ensure their accountability for data integrity. Once they become familiar with it, everything runs smoothly.

I appreciate the simplicity of the checks themselves and how Redzone seamlessly integrates the software into the factory. The approach taken by the coaches is also commendable.

Cons

There are some limitations such as the inability to select multiple items on an option list or add extra checks.

Redzone has played a vital role in bringing our PKG Department into the digital age. The transition to a paperless operation has been remarkable and well received by operators. With all the data readily available, we can analyze, adapt, and improve much more efficiently than before. Our RZ Coaches provided extensive operator training on the PKG Floor, demonstrating their expertise in translating our ideas and requirements into Redzone in the simplest and most efficient manner. We cannot express enough gratitude for the knowledge they imparted, enabling us to become self sufficient. After six months, there's no turning back.

Cons

I have no major downsides to report. However there is a glitch where newly entered comments in forums or other areas are not visible until the page is refreshed. Additionally I find it confusing to understand the content that triggers the red numerical notifications in the Activities tab.
