Powerful data connections and insights

Pros

Being able to connect, enrich and send data to virtually any destination from a single platform has been the part I've appreciated most about it. I've also really valued the option to explore the data directly within Adverity, build dashboards and make use of its intelligent analytics features.

Cons

The biggest downsides are the high cost and the platform's limited reliability. The pricing feels far too expensive for what it actually offers and it doesn't really adapt to each customer's specific needs and requirements. Customer support could also be much better since they take quite a while to respond and often don't fully resolve questions or issues.

support team feels like part of ours

Pros

Working with it has felt like adding an extension to our own analytics team. Since we're a smaller agency with just one dedicated analytics person, having a company behind us with strong, reliable technical support was absolutely essential.

Cons

The data connectors can be a bit finicky from time to time so we do end up having to troubleshoot occasionally.

Flexible integrations and fast reporting

Pros

Easy to use overall especially with the wide range of data connectors available for integration and extraction. It covers everything from social platforms to different DSPs and setting up recurring data updates is simple. It also works well with other dashboard tools like Data Studio which makes reporting much more convenient.

Cons

Initial setup for data connections can be a bit challenging when you're new to the platform although it becomes much more manageable after you've gone through the process a few times.

Powerful data standardization

Pros

Having it in place means our marketers even the ones without data engineering or Python skills, can pull and transform data on their own. Tools like Supermetrics can extract data too but there's still a lot of manual work involved around schema naming conventions and reshaping the data properly. Compared with relying on Google Sheets, Excel or even a visualization tool like Google Data Studio, Adverity gives us a much more standardized way to manage data and schemas across all of our clients and accounts. That has saved us a lot of time and helped reduce the chances of human error.

Cons

The user experience still has room to improve. At times it is not very clear where to go to find certain things and the platform can feel complicated when you are first getting started even though it becomes easier to understand fairly quickly. I'd also welcome more template choices and stronger administrative management features. That said it does seem like they have already started adding some of these capabilities so I'm curious to see how the management side of the platform continues to develop.

Flexible reporting and data control

Pros

It gives me a lot of control over which data I pull, where it's sent and how it's used, all through an interface that feels very simple to work with. Creating custom reports is simple even when the data comes from different platforms and it usually works without any technical issues getting in the way. A lot of competing tools don't offer this same level of flexibility. On top of the aggregation features, the programming and transformation settings are especially valuable when working with highly specific data requirements, like scope-related data.

Cons

Only real issue is that when something goes wrong, alerts don't always come through immediately. We can usually tell that a problem is already being addressed but it's not always clear what exactly is happening. Other than that, I don't really have any additional complaints about it.

Reliable background automation

Pros

Once it's set up, it pretty much takes care of everything without needing constant attention. It just handles the work quietly in the background and gets the job done.

Cons

Getting started can take a bit of time because the learning curve isn't the most simple. A few of the options are somewhat confusing at first and may require help during the initial setup.

Powerful etl with standout support

Pros

From a functionality standpoint, it is incredibly powerful and flexible. It handles just about any ETL task you can think of and the transformation capabilities are especially strong for marketing use cases, including more complex scenarios that come up often in that field. It also pulls data from a wide range of sources even things like spreadsheets and email attachments which is surprisingly useful because those still show up a lot in real-world automation. Debugging, scheduling, data cleanup and joins are all powerful as well and the platform rarely feels limiting. Support has also been excellent. That is not always the case with technical products this complex but the team understands requests quickly, provides detailed guidance and when technical fixes are needed, they usually deliver them in a reasonable timeframe. Another big plus has been how fast they add new data connectors. We have requested support for new connectors multiple times and they were implemented quickly and at no additional cost which has added even more value for us.

Cons

Learning curve is fairly steep. Getting comfortable with the product's logic takes time, along with a certain level of technical understanding. Some of the error messages could also be clearer since they are not always very descriptive and often require prior experience with the platform to interpret properly. Documentation is still developing too so in practice you will likely need to rely on the support team for additional clarification fairly often.

Helpful support and simple workflows

Pros

Working with it feels very simple which makes day-to-day tasks much more manageable. On top of that, the support team is excellent and really helps build what the client needs.

Cons

A few functions and calculations still aren't fully reliable yet. The widget campaign reporting also continues to show bugs from time to time so dashboards need to be checked twice before being shared externally.

Flexible connectors and useful transformations

Pros

There's a wide range of connectors available to choose from and it's also helpful that they can support the implementation of connectors that aren't currently included. The platform interface is very user-friendly and the data transformation tool has been especially valuable and effective.

Cons

The documentation has room for improvement and the communication between our team and Adverity could also be better.

strong data connections

Pros

It comes with a huge range of data sources and API integrations which gives access to a very broad set of data. It's simple to use and has saved our team a lot of time.

Cons

Getting the right support can be difficult at times. Some members of the support team are brilliant but it's hard to get consistent help from the same people who really know and understand the kinds of issues we run into.

responsive support

Pros

Creating dashboards in Adverity Insights has been really useful especially when it comes to sharing them with clients and exporting widgets for presentations. Support is also quick and helpful whenever needed.

Cons

Reliable connectors and daily performance

Pros

wide range of connectors it offers is wonderful, along with support for loading data into many different destinations. API management is largely taken care of on their side, including handling changes which removes a lot of maintenance work. We use it every day and it has been consistently reliable for us.

Cons

meaningful failure or performance monitoring still requires interacting with the API. That may not matter much to some teams but in our case we need that visibility to make sure our SLAs are not put at risk.

Smart api manager performance

Pros

The API manager packs in a lot of functionality and is put together in a really smart way. On top of that, day-to-day performance has been consistently good.

Cons

powerful ETL for reporting

Pros

It keeps improving and has become a really strong ETL platform. It works very well for building dashboards and reports that support our colleagues and help keep clients satisfied.

Cons

A few parts don't feel very user-friendly. For instance, in Insights you need to right-click to add something to a chart which felt unusual since right-clicking is not really used elsewhere in Adverity. The documentation could also be better. It would make a big difference if campaign managers were able to edit the text widgets themselves.

Clean design and flexible reporting

Pros

One thing that has been especially useful is the new quick editor with the filter and customize buttons. Most of the time we only need to adjust chart filters and the quick filters make that process much faster. The platform also has a very clean design which works really well once you understand how everything is set up. The Hubs/Clients/Brands structure is a smart way to keep reports organized and the ability to grant access only to specific levels or elements of that structure is one of the strongest features. On the data integration side, Adverity helps us bring together multiple data sources, both static and dynamic, into a single report.

Cons

ability to move or send a chart from one report to another is missing. The platform can also seem quite overwhelming at the beginning for people who have never worked with tools like this although that can likely be improved with a proper introduction before they start using it.

Flexible marketing data powerhouse

Pros

It has been a very flexible platform for a wide range of marketing needs and adding new API connections is quite simple. With a bit of Python knowledge, it's also possible to customize data tasks to fit specific requirements. On top of that, we've been very satisfied with the support from their team.

Cons

Certain features are quite complex so it can be difficult to fully understand everything the platform is capable of. The documentation could also be improved to make those possibilities clearer.

Reliable support & unified data

Pros

Having all of our data centralized in one place has been a huge benefit but the real highlight has been the quality of our account manager. Any time an issue comes up, they respond quickly, escalate it when needed and are always willing to hop on a call to avoid any confusion. Even when something does go wrong, I feel confident it will be handled fast.

Cons

awesome support

Pros

After comparing a lot of options for Martech/Adtech API connections for ETL, it ended up being the most reliable and adaptable fit for what we needed. During onboarding, they even built brand-new integrations for a few edge-case platforms that were not supported yet. I was honestly doubtful when they said they could create any connections we required but within roughly four weeks of signing, every platform we needed was fully integrated and ready to use in the product. We also had some unusual requirements on the destination side and Adverity was able to develop a setup that matched those needs as well. Their support team has been excellent too. Having dedicated account managers who can also provide technical help is incredibly valuable and when we ran into more complex transformation requirements, our main contacts actually helped directly with the transformation scripts instead of just handing us off to another support queue.

Cons

The interface is not the most polished or visually appealing compared with some other ETL platforms but that also reflects where Adverity seems to put its effort: into building a dependable and highly flexible product. They have been adding more in-product documentation, though guidance for certain niche use cases or features can still feel a little limited.

All campaign data in one place!

Pros

Having data from multiple sources in one system makes a big difference. It gives us a complete overview of all our campaigns in one place which is incredibly helpful. Another thing we really appreciate is the support team, they are always quick to help, work hard to solve issues as fast as possible and genuinely try to turn our ideas into reality.

useful marketing data insights

Pros

It does an excellent job of combining data and presenting it in a way that matches how marketing professionals actually want to view and understand performance.

Cons

There's definitely a learning curve at the beginning especially when you're still figuring out how the platform works. Since it was the first data visualization tool I used, that probably made the start feel more challenging. After working with other tools later on, though, it became clear why it stands out.
