“Fast email segmentation”
Pros
Putting together simple branded newsletters is pretty foolproof with this tool. As long as the visual assets are already prepared, like correctly sized logos, photos and similar materials, it's fast to build reusable templates. When we already have the copy and images ready, an email can be assembled in under 15 minutes. The contact include/exclude logic is also very easy and we rely on it a lot to break big contact lists into smaller segments for more targeted sends.
Cons
Managing extra contacts can be frustrating especially when it comes to tagging them if that wasn't handled automatically during import. Also, once you want to move past very basic layouts, the backend doesn't offer much flexibility for customizing the built-in templates. That said for what we need, the standard drag-and-drop content blocks still get the job done.

“Easy customer engagement”
Pros
Every week, this software helps us stay connected with our database and keep them updated on specials and new products we're offering. That ongoing communication is the part I value most because it makes it simple to consistently share promotions and new items.
Cons
One frustrating part is the email automation setup. Once an automation is created, it can be difficult to go back in and edit it and there are times when data gets lost in the process.

“feisty brand with polished emails”
Pros
Right from the start, the brand's attitude stands out. It has a bold, witty personality and their ads and landing pages genuinely make me laugh. More than that, the platform is very simple to use and the emails I put together look polished and high quality. They come out so attractive and professional that they make my business look like it has a full PR team behind it, when really it's just me.
Cons
I'd really love a resend feature instead of having to duplicate an email every time. I also run into trouble with templates that use more than one column. That said I can't be too hard on it since I've never actually contacted customer support about it. Usually I just give up on that template and switch to one I already know how to work with.

“fabulous layouts and support”
Pros
There's a lot to appreciate here and we genuinely enjoyed using it. Getting started was easy, the layouts look fantastic and the feature set feels stronger than average. It also offers a wide range of pricing options which makes it easier to match different business sizes and sending needs. On top of that, deliverability was consistently great and the customer support was excellent every time we needed help.
Cons
The biggest downside for us came after we became a Shopify merchant because the integration between this platform and Shopify was discontinued at some point. Even though there were supposed to be workarounds, not having a simple Shopify integration ultimately became a dealbreaker for our team.

“user-friendly design for mailings”
Pros
Creating beautiful mailings with this software feels very approachable. The program walks you through each step and the drag-and-drop design options make the whole process simple to follow. You really don't need a graphic design background to put together polished, attractive mailings.
Cons
One thing that would make it even better is having a little more technical support when building mailing lists, or at least offering some guidance on how to keep mailing lists accurate.

“flexible branding options”
Pros
There are a lot of options built into this software and I really appreciate how much freedom it gives me to customize my newsletter so it matches my brand.
Cons
Layout choices could be improved a bit. There aren't that many available and after reusing the same ones repeatedly, they start to feel a little dated.

“email campaign hero”
Pros
When it comes to email campaigns, this platform has been more than just good advertising for itself. From the very generous free plan to the paid options, it has become my preferred email marketing service. I use it for my own projects, have relied on it at past companies and would gladly move my current company over to it when the chance comes up.
Cons
One thing that gets tiring is how many upgrade paths they push which is pretty common with platforms like this now. Even when there's no real need for the extra features, it can still feel like you're constantly being nudged to spend more. It's a little tedious to deal with that while already being a customer though honestly it's not much different from what other companies do. Kind of a "want to supersize that?" feeling.

“frustrating sending bugs lately”
Pros
It doesn't cost anything to use and being able to duplicate and save a design to reuse again and again is really helpful.
Cons
I've been using the free version for around seven years. My newsletters are pretty basic, with lots of photos, a small amount of text and plenty of links to other websites. Although the platform has definitely become more user-friendly over time, the last couple of months have brought some really frustrating bugs. Somehow I keep getting removed from my own mailing list which means I don't receive my own newsletter in my inbox. The only fix I've managed to find is subscribing myself again but within a month I get removed all over again. The final breaking point was my latest campaign which only went out to 544 of my 714 subscribers. The system clearly showed it was being sent to everyone so this seems like a bug on their end. Since I'm on the free plan, I can't even get help from customer service unless I pay $30 a month. At this point, I'm seriously considering going back to the company I used before since it was cheaper on a monthly basis, simpler to use and had great customer support.

“powerful marketing tools”
Pros
It's no longer just an email platform which is a big plus. You also get websites, landing pages, ads and automated CRM email features all in one place. Setting everything up is easy and the platform is simple to use.
Cons
One downside is how the pricing works. It's based on the highest number of subscribers you reach during the month rather than your total at the end. So if your list goes up to 501 at any point but finishes at 495, you're still charged at the 501 level.

“feature-packed free starter plan”
Pros
Getting a feature-rich service at no cost for up to 2,000 subscribers is a big plus. The platform is fairly simple, connects well with other tools and services and works really well as a practical option for many startups.
Cons
There's no customer support unless I pay which can be frustrating when I run into technical problems or need help with less simple features and integrations.

“Great features and generous free plan”
Pros
Right out of the gate, it offers really strong core features like templates and automations. The free plan is also very generous and gives most businesses that are just getting started with email marketing plenty to work with. On top of that, the API is quite extensive and fairly easy to use so building customizations doesn't take much effort.
Cons
One frustration is that the automation tools don't support especially complex actions. It's also really hard to make changes to an automation after it's already live without losing everyone currently in the queue. For example, if you want to reorder emails in an automation, every subscriber in that queue gets dropped. That feels pretty unreasonable especially if you tend to fine-tune your automations on a regular basis.

“creative campaigns with useful metrics”
Pros
There's a lot to love about this product especially how much room it gives you to be creative. It works well for reaching your customer base with just about any kind of message, whether that's holiday greetings, business meeting updates, opportunity alerts, or anything else you need to send. One thing I really appreciate is that I can either put together an email very quickly or spend more time customizing it in detail, depending on how much time I have. The reporting is also really valuable. I like being able to track bounces, opens and clicks and actually see how people are engaging.
Cons
At first, I honestly wondered if the emails would just end up in spam. After running plenty of tests with different people though, they consistently landed right in the inbox. If I had to point out any downside, it would be that it's very easy to lose track of time when you're building a template from scratch and end up spending hours on it. That feels more like a time-management issue than a problem with the software itself.

“quick setup and great free trial”
Pros
The platform is remarkably easy to get up and running. The free trial already includes a generous set of built-in features and upgrading is only really necessary for advanced HTML customization or much larger mailing lists.
Cons
Customization options are somewhat limited especially on the design side. That said for a free product or one that is priced very reasonably, that trade-off feels pretty understandable.

“Fast setup for email sends”
Pros
Uploading contacts and launching campaigns requires very little effort making it an accessible solution even for users with no prior email marketing experience.
Cons
The platform is missing quite a few features and seems to be falling behind some of the smaller competitors. That said their deliverability team is one of the strongest parts of the service which helps keep sending quality above average.

“polished newsletter design options”
Pros
High-quality newsletter designs are one of the platform's strongest features. After spending some time learning the system and tailoring it to your needs, the final campaigns look polished and professional. The available formatting and integration options also provide plenty of room for advanced use cases.
Cons
Even though the software is smart and fairly user-friendly overall, the back end can still feel a little tricky when you're building things in it. You do not have to be some coding expert to use it but having a bit of technical knowledge definitely helps if you want to take full advantage of all the features and integrations available.

“Great tool but few frustrating features”
Pros
For smaller subscriber lists, the free plan offers excellent value. It includes enough functionality to cover core marketing needs and the subscription form snippets make it easy to grow an audience directly from a website.
Cons
Double verification can get frustrating at times and emails never seem to reach the standard Gmail inbox since they always end up in Promotions. I also bought a list and the platform was not really able to do much with it because it constantly questioned those email addresses if they were not collected directly by me.

“Perfect templates and analytics”
Pros
Few platforms make campaign creation as effortless as this one. Ready-made templates, strong analytics, extensive integrations, audience-building tools and compliance-focused features all work together to create a complete email marketing solution. The educational resources are also excellent for building confidence and expertise.
Cons
I really don't have any complaints about it. As long as they keep expanding their integrations and improving how it connects with outside vendors and applications, I can see them staying on top of the market.

Professional-looking emails are easy to create from day one. The ability to reuse previous templates, incorporate images and maintain a polished appearance across campaigns saves considerable time and effort.
