Great start for email automation

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is being able to stay compliant with CAN-SPAM and CASL so there's much less risk of getting flagged for spam. It also gives you a lot of flexibility when building emails since you can customize almost every section. You can switch headers, change fonts, add backgrounds and include images without much trouble. If your copy is strong, this tool can help you create very effective email campaigns. For anyone just getting started with marketing automation and depending on email communication, it's a really good place to begin.

Cons

This probably won't be the best fit for companies that follow very strict brand guidelines because the customization doesn't go far enough to match every brand element perfectly. That said a developer can still adjust the CSS to make it align much more closely with the company's branding. The paid version does open up a bit more flexibility but the product is clearly designed for putting together attractive emails quickly. Full adaptation for limited brand standards feels more like a concern for larger companies since for most teams, adding a logo and using company colors will be more than enough.

fantastic templates and automation

Pros

For me, getting emails set up feels very easy with this tool. The templates are simple to work with, dropping in code is hassle-free and configuring automatic responses didn't take much effort at all. The help section is also incredibly thorough and seems to cover just about every question that comes up.

Cons

One thing that really throws me off is the sweaty monkey finger hovering over the red send button, it honestly gives me anxiety lol. I also wish the analytics could sync automatically into a Google dashboard. Since the photo editing software update, resizing photos has become harder for me and adding GIFs is also more difficult than it should be.

perfect fit for newsletters

Pros

As someone who runs a weekly personal newsletter, this platform has been exactly what I needed for the project. Even without any real coding knowledge, I'm still able to build beautiful, readable emails, make the most of the detailed analytics and data and steadily grow my list because the entire experience feels genuinely enjoyable. I also really appreciate the variety of landing pages and how much you can customize everything. It makes a personal newsletter feel truly personal instead of looking like everyone else's.

Cons

I don't have any complaints. If anything, there's just more for me to explore and I'm excited to keep learning more about what the software can do.

best fit for our business

Pros

Even after using this software for a long time, it still stands out as the best option we've come across.

Cons

For our business, we really haven't run into any downsides. It does exactly what it's supposed to do.

flexible templates and imports

Pros

The campaign creation process feels very approachable because the email templates can be customized with a point-and-click editor so there's no need to know HTML. It's also really convenient that contacts can be imported from Excel, CSV, Salesforce, or even by simply copying and pasting them.

Cons

The only downside is that it feels fairly expensive compared with other email marketing software options.

powerful campaigns and clear analytics

Pros

For our team, running targeted campaigns to more than 10,000 users each month has worked really well with this tool. The drag-and-drop builder makes it simple to put together polished HTML emails without much hassle. Building lists, whether one at a time or through bulk uploads, is easy and campaign management is just as manageable. We've also started testing the #tags feature and have been happy with that addition. The campaign analytics are clear, useful and easy to understand.

Cons

One ongoing issue is that, no matter what the email actually contains, the messages often get labeled as "promotions" and sorted that way in Gmail and Office365/Outlook. That becomes a real problem when you need people to respond quickly. Because of that, we often end up doing a mail merge from a Word document just to alert recipients that their latest message has been sent. In the constant tug-of-war between email platforms like this and mailbox providers such as Google and Microsoft, it feels like the sending platforms are the ones falling behind.

drag-and-drop email builder

Pros

One of the best things about this tool is how effortless it is to create polished emails. Even without much design experience, you can put together really attractive campaigns and the drag-and-drop editor is one of the strongest parts of the platform.

Cons

Its marketing automation capabilities are still behind other tools in the space and that was ultimately the reason my company moved over to Pardot.

helpful free email campaigns

Pros

Using the free plan for email updates at the non-profit has worked well for what we need. It covers the basics for building emails making edits and adding photos without much trouble. I also appreciate being able to save campaigns for later and schedule them ahead of time. The reporting is useful too since it shows how many people are opening our emails. Another feature that helps a lot is being able to organize contacts into different groups for specific campaigns.

Cons

One thing I really wish it had is a way to add several new subscribers at once. At the moment, I have to type in each person's details individually, save it and then repeat the whole process for the next person. It would be much better to enter multiple contacts first and save everything at the end, or even upload an Excel file. The email editor also feels a little clunky. If I want to place a photo between sections of text, I have to create separate text and image blocks, then copy and paste the text into the right spots. On top of that, I can't control the image width because the pictures automatically stretch across the email. Still since we're using the service for free, it's hard to be too upset about those limitations.

Excellent choice for startups

Pros

Whenever email marketing comes up, this is the first platform I think of, partly because of the memorable monkey branding and partly because it's so simple to use. The allowance of 12,000 emails for 2,000 subscribers is a pretty decent deal and it works especially well for startups thanks to its strong reporting features.

Cons

It does fall a bit short when it comes to advanced automation so it may not fully support every part of a complete email marketing operation.

affordable emails with polished designs

Pros

One thing that really works in this software's favor is the price. It's a very affordable email marketing platform and even the free version is far more useful than I expected. The templates and design tools are especially enjoyable to use and they help email campaigns come out looking polished and professional.

Cons

On the downside, the newer social media ad tools feel seriously underdeveloped. They haven't helped me save any time at all.

powerful marketing platform

Pros

The functionality of this software is on another level in its field. The Marketing Platform especially, has been a huge advantage for me as a business owner because it helps me cut costs on my ongoing campaigns which is a big win for my budget. On top of that, it gives me the ability to target customers with the exact products they're actually interested in. Another feature I really enjoy is the beautiful newsletter designs which honestly look fantastic.

Cons

If there's one part that feels underwhelming, it's the Form Builder. To be honest, it comes across as a bit limited and outdated especially in terms of its overall design. The color scheme and content blocks feel plain and somewhat dull, giving it an old-school vibe that doesn't really match the rest of the platform's impressive features.

helpful templates for beginners

Pros

With such a generous free plan, it's a really great option for new bloggers or business owners trying to build momentum. The interface is simple to navigate and there's a good range of templates available if you're not sure how to begin.

Cons

Customer support is the biggest downside. There's no quick way to reach a representative from inside the platform so I ended up figuring most things out through trial and error.

quick audience communication

Pros

Sending messages to our audience is fast and easy with this software. It works well whether we want to keep our mailings very simple or build something more detailed and the usability is one of its biggest strengths.

Cons

Like a lot of similar platforms, it does take some time to learn at first. There are plenty of features and options which can feel a little overwhelming in the beginning but once everything starts to click, it becomes much easier to use.

api integration that saves time

Pros

As a business owner who needs customers to sign electronic waivers, I really appreciated how its API let me automatically push customer information straight into the system where I kept my database. That automation took a lot of manual work off my plate and made things much more convenient.

Cons

One downside was the pricing model which was tied to the number of contacts stored in the database. As my business expanded, that contact count kept rising and so did the monthly cost. Since I only used it to send emails once or twice a year, paying such a high monthly fee mostly just to store a customer list didn't feel worthwhile. I eventually switched to another option that charges based on emails sent instead of contacts stored and that ended up saving me around $150 each month.

versatile email templates and client control

Pros

For us, it works really well for sending bulk emails to clients and the range of available templates makes it adaptable to different business needs. Another helpful feature is the ability for clients to subscribe or unsubscribe whenever needed.

Cons

Administrators can access their accounts on mobile which is useful. That said putting together an email to send to clients through the mobile app can feel a bit complicated.

powerful marketing automation insights

Pros

With this platform, I can build unique marketing campaigns, connect with other software, automate a lot of the marketing workload and get useful analytics that help improve results. Overall, it feels like a pretty convenient tool that removes much of the guesswork from marketing efforts.

Cons

One downside is that it does not offer as much customization as some other marketing platforms and you are mostly limited to the frameworks built into the app. That said it being free for basic needs is definitely a nice advantage.

fast email campaigns that deliver

Pros

From my experience, it feels very easy to use and it really excels at quick, efficient email marketing. The campaign scheduling feature is fantastic and works reliably every time so once everything is set up, you can basically leave it alone and trust it to run.

Cons

One downside is that it goes offline fairly often and because it's web-based, you have to stay connected to use it. Stability could definitely be better as well. The auto-save feature is very helpful but it's still frustrating when the system crashes or freezes while building a campaign or template and you end up having to start over from the beginning.

Pros

Even after using this software for years, it has never let us down. The customer service team is very pleasant to work with and having everything in one platform is a big advantage. They handle a lot of the workload for you which makes the whole experience feel worry-free. The pricing is also very affordable and the monthly electronic billing is convenient.
