“helpful tools for better emails”
Pros
For new users, getting started feels very approachable since it's free for anyone with an email list of 2,000 contacts or fewer. It also comes with useful features like subject line testing and recommended send times which can really help you build stronger emails and improve results.
Cons
Some of the platform's terminology can be a little confusing at first especially if you're switching over from a different email service. The templates also need quite a bit of tweaking before they look polished and professional.

“powerful templates and analytics”
Pros
Our experience with it has been incredibly easy, it's budget-friendly and it packs a huge range of features and integrations. We've stayed on the forever-free plan since our email list is still just under 2,000 subscribers. The A/B testing tools are excellent, mobile previews are really helpful and being able to build and reuse templates saves a lot of time. Pretty much anyone on the team can sign in and put together attractive, effective HTML emails within minutes. It also lets you upload images, make edits and drop them right into campaigns without much effort. On top of that, it connects with plenty of platforms, from social media for content sharing to Eventbrite for registrations and it even supports eCommerce sales. The reporting is another big plus, you can track open and click rates, then dig deeper to see exactly who clicked which links. It's also useful for building email lists through a landing page or even a Facebook page so even without a fully developed website, you can still make good use of HTML email marketing.
Cons
One limitation is that it's not really meant for sending large-scale mass email campaigns because of spam protections. If you attempt that, the platform can flag it pretty quickly and may disable not just the list but possibly the whole account. That's understandable since it's clearly trying to protect its sending reputation and avoid spam issues. Still, it's something to be aware of if bulk email blasting is your main goal. In that case, other platforms are probably a better fit for that kind of marketing.

“affordable and practical templates”
Pros
The setup process was easy for me and there are plenty of API integrations available. The templates look polished and are simple to work with and the pricing feels very reasonable for what's included.
Cons
Templates are clean and functional but they don't really stand out from what a lot of other providers offer. The automation features also aren't as advanced as some competing tools and there's no phone support when you need help.

“clean dashboard and quick campaigns”
Pros
Clean and minimalist dashboard makes the platform feel simple to navigate. Building emails doesn't take much effort either since you can start from a template or create your own and save it for later. Sending out quick campaigns is very easy and the drag-and-drop editor feels simple to work with. Another thing I appreciate is the help section being so accessible in the top menu. It opens as an overlay so you can check the knowledge base without losing your place or any work in progress. That knowledge base is available to everyone while paid users also get extra support through chat and email.
Cons
Biggest downside is that automation is locked behind a paid plan and that's the main reason I'd rate its usability at 4 stars instead of higher. Applying if-else logic to mailing campaigns also isn't very convenient. Compared with other tools, handling more advanced triggers and dependencies feels less simple here.

“powerful integrations”
Pros
Website feels polished and modern. Getting around is easy and the knowledge base is genuinely helpful when you need guidance. They keep refining the service and the step-by-step flow has clearly been improved over time. It's also much more visual than a lot of other mailing list platforms which makes it far more approachable for people who are just getting started. On top of that, it connects with almost everything, eCommerce tools, WordPress, PayPal and more. The automation options are flexible too, with plenty of conditions you can set. A big bonus is that it's free for the first few thousand subscribers.
Cons
One thing that could be better is moving subscribers between lists in the same account while keeping all of their metadata intact. It would also help to have more customization options for posts within groups and segments. Being able to transfer groups and segments from one list to another would make the platform much more practical. Automated actions across different lists, instead of only within the current one, would be a huge improvement as well. Also, the way GDPR compliance is handled currently doesn't really let you embed their custom forms directly on your website.

“Simple campaigns and better targeting”
Pros
Putting email campaigns together takes far less technical effort with this platform. Even though I usually rely on the "paste code" option to build my emails, the available templates are user-friendly and the basic setup for a campaign feels simple, clear and simple. List management is also very low-effort and the newer updates have made segmenting and targeting lists much easier than before. The automation tools help a lot with keeping lists active, current and engaged. Another thing I appreciate is how committed the company seems to be to improving both its core product and its broader offerings. I've used other marketing platforms before that seemed to stop evolving after a while but this one keeps expanding with new features while still continuing to refine the main software.
Cons
There are still a few elements I need to hand-code into my emails because the built-in email product options don't cover them. That said for such a wide-ranging platform designed for a very broad user base, I wouldn't really expect it to handle every highly specific niche need.

“powerful tools that scale”
Pros
Even the free version comes with all the tools included in the paid plans so there's already everything needed to run effective marketing campaigns from the start. As things grow, the platform grows with you by adding more options that help keep campaigns organized and easier to manage. It's also incredibly reliable, with campaigns going out on time every single time.
Cons
As strong as the platform is, there's definitely a learning curve. The full documentation is available with the paid subscriptions while the free version although very simple, still takes some time to fully figure out. Once everything clicks though, it becomes very easy to use.

“email campaigns that look professional”
Pros
Putting together my company's email campaign was really easy. I could upload our logo which made everything look polished and creative at the same time. It's also helpful that the platform shows bounce-backs, how many people opened the email and how many still haven't viewed it.
Cons
Overall, it's a really great service. A few features are missing from the free version though, like client tracking and that would be very useful to test before upgrading. I've also noticed more pop-ups lately which has been a little frustrating.

“fantastic for small lists”
Pros
For small audiences, this is still one of the most popular, powerful and impressive email marketing platforms I've used. We rely on it for smaller lists because once your database gets bigger, the pricing becomes insanely high but for small audiences it delivers a lot. Setup is easy, it lets you remarket on social media and it connects with almost every app or service we need. It works well for both transactional and promotional emails, includes unlimited sending since pricing is based on contacts and has useful automation triggers and workflows. On top of that, the ecommerce integrations and A/B testing features make it a really strong fit for small businesses and solopreneurs.
Cons
Pricing is definitely the biggest downside. As your list grows, the cost can climb fast and become hard to justify so larger lists may eventually need to move to a different platform. Another issue is that sending from a brand-new account can take a while because you need time to warm up the domain first.

“helpful templates for email creation”
Pros
Creating emails for subscribers is much more manageable with this software. The built-in formatting tools and ready-made templates save a lot of time since there's no need to start every message from the ground up. It's especially useful for people who aren't very creative but still want their emails to look polished and well put together.
Cons
I have run into a few glitches while using it. At times, when I'm building emails, the font sizes don't adjust the way I want them to. That usually forces me to come up with workarounds which can end up affecting the original design I had in mind for the email.

“free with tons of integrations”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate is that it's free and it connects with a huge range of platforms. That makes a big difference when your business changes the online tools you use because all the work you've already put into your autoresponder emails and web forms doesn't go to waste.
Cons
Getting around the site was a little confusing at first and it took some time to understand how everything works. That said there are tons of really helpful tutorials on YouTube. The other downside is that the design customization is somewhat limited so you have to play around with it a bit to make it match your branding.

“free start with strong marketing tools”
Pros
There are plenty of options for promoting a business which is a big plus. I also really appreciate that you can begin at no cost. The free plan does cap how many emails you can send each month but it still gives you enough room to launch your email marketing and start bringing in some income.
Cons
At some point, you do have to clean up your email list and it's simple enough to remove contacts who never respond to your campaigns. The frustrating part is that you can't remove or reactivate email addresses from people who have opted out on their own. I've run into this twice now where someone at a company unsubscribed, later got replaced and the new employee wanted to receive the emails but the company address couldn't be reactivated.

“best tool for newsletters”
Pros
Even after using it for years, I still see it as the best freemium app for newsletter management. Most small and medium-sized businesses will get more than enough from the free version while users with heavier needs can choose from several paid plans that fit well. Another big advantage is the wide range of integration tools it offers with other platforms especially WordPress in our case.
Cons
One thing that still feels lacking is how little the tool is adapted for markets outside the US, considering how many users it seems to have abroad. It would really benefit from better translation and localization. I also still have some concerns about how it handles the newer GDPR requirements under the European privacy framework.

“affordable features that deliver”
Pros
Compared with a lot of other email marketing platforms, this one really stands out for the value. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, includes all the features you'd expect and the interface is fairly simple to pick up. The biggest reason I'd call it one of the best email marketing tools available right now though, is the price. For everything that's included, it's very affordable especially next to competitors like CC. Definitely a strong pick.
Cons
Only thing I'd even mention as a downside isn't really a major con but the interface could be a bit more simple when you're trying to handle more advanced tasks. I personally haven't run into anything I couldn't work through but I do know some less tech-savvy users especially marketing staff who are probably the ones using it most, who have hit a wall now and then when trying to figure certain things out.

“scheduled emails are a lifesaver”
Pros
One feature I appreciate most is the ability to schedule emails ahead of time. Back when we were sending everything manually, any campaign meant for the evening required us to either stay late at the office or log in remotely just to hit send.
Cons
Its pricing model has shifted over the years though to its credit, there's still a genuinely free tier available for smaller starter projects.

“accurate previews across inboxes”
Pros
I really appreciate the emulated preview feature because it shows exactly how a mailout is likely to appear in different email clients like Outlook and Gmail. That makes it much easier to catch layout issues early and adjust the styling before sending.
Cons
The pricing has definitely gone up over time and it's become fairly expensive. The frustrating part is that there aren't any real alternatives on the market so there's not much choice if you need this kind of functionality.

“powerful reporting and flexible plans”
Pros
Right from the free plan, this software gives access to a wide range of tools, templates and even pay-as-you-go options. It makes managing and organizing thousands of emails for thousands of clients each month very easy. The reporting is one of the best parts, with detailed insights that cover everything needed, including geo-tracking plus integrations with social media and Google Analytics.
Cons
One thing I'd still want improved is the delivery rate. Too many emails seem to land in Gmail's Promotions tab instead of the main inbox.

“adaptable pricing that fits”
Pros
One thing that works really well is how flexible the lists are especially with pricing tied to them. We add and remove subscribers every month so our totals are always changing. With MC's subscription plan, we're only billed for the number of subscribers we actually have which makes a lot of sense for us.
Cons
Setting up and customizing autoresponders can be tricky at times. I was also a little underwhelmed by the newer Google ads feature since it only supports text and doesn't allow graphics.

“strong email marketing toolkit”
Pros
After using it for years across different companies, it has consistently been a very user-friendly email marketing platform with a huge range of features, including plenty I still haven't even tapped into. It really feels like the company puts a lot of effort into making every part of the software as easy as possible. Building email lists is quick and it connects nicely with website forms which helps a lot with growing your subscriber base. Putting together the actual email campaigns is also fast and the platform gives helpful hints, tips and suggestions along the way so you can get the most out of what you're doing.
Cons
One thing I'd still like to see is more flexibility in the visual customization of the emails themselves. The font choices and formatting options are somewhat limited although I've been able to work around that by designing the full email in Photoshop and then importing it into the platform.

“Perfect tools for campaigns”
Pros
When I first started using it, the setup was simple and it came packed with features. Even with little to no prior experience, I was able to run mass email campaigns without much trouble.
Cons
The biggest downside was the price since it felt very expensive compared with similar options. I also ran into a serious issue while traveling overseas because I couldn't access my account once my phone number was no longer active. I contacted support using the same email tied to my account but they sent over a list of more than 20 questions, many of which were nearly impossible to answer from memory. Even after proving I could access my bank account, phone bill and email and answering everything I could, they still refused to restore access and didn't seem concerned about the effect this had on my business.
