Modern templates and polished emails

Pros

Template library is one of my favorite features. Emails look polished and professional while the modern interface makes it easy for me to create campaigns, manage lists and organize audience segments.

Cons

I do wish the platform offered more automation features. That was actually the reason my company stopped using it. Some automation is available but you still have to build segments manually to make use of it.

Free templates

Pros

Free plan offers tremendous value for small businesses. I can build attractive campaigns without touching code and the social media integrations make it easier for me to extend the reach of my marketing efforts.

Cons

One thing I'm still missing is proper agency support. Right now I have to sign in separately for every client instead of managing everything from one agency dashboard. I've heard that feature exists but I still haven't been able to locate it.

fair pricing

Pros

The platform is generally very easy to use. I was pleased to see the addition of landing pages and automation tools and the pricing remains reasonable considering the functionality included.

Cons

It's clearly built more for ecommerce businesses selling physical products so it's not nearly as helpful for an enterprise or B2B website. One thing that really bothers me is that if I need to send the same email to two different contact lists, I can't choose both lists at once or even pick individual email addresses. I end up having to send the exact same email twice which gets frustrating fast.

Flexible campaign segmentation

Pros

Creating multiple contact lists and segmenting audiences is easy. I also appreciate the ability to either send campaigns immediately or schedule them for later which makes planning communications much more convenient for me.

Cons

Free plan is capped at 2,000 subscribers or 12,000 emails per month. It also leaves out a lot of features and some of those are actually very helpful when you're trying to understand how your campaigns are performing.

Fast email results and stats

Pros

Launching a campaign only takes a few minutes and everything works smoothly across devices. The reporting is easy to understand, showing opens and clicks clearly while customizable templates, logo removal options, free image hosting and Facebook integration add even more value.

Cons

Subscription form templates feel pretty basic. I also tend to get complaints about emails landing in spam and sometimes people unsubscribe after a campaign goes out. Automatic replies are only sent to users who join the mailing list through the web form which is limiting. The paid plans cost more than a lot of competing tools and quite a few features are locked out of the free version.

free email campaigns with reports

Pros

Creating professional-looking emails for large audiences is simple. The free pricing tier is especially attractive for lower-volume senders and the reporting tools help me understand how subscribers engage with each campaign.

Cons

One downside is that the templates feel somewhat limited and don't offer as much customization as I'd prefer. It also leans heavily toward marketing use cases so it's not as suitable for more business-focused needs like receipt follow-up emails. We use SendGrid for that instead.

Powerful reach and retargeting

Pros

Because the platform is so widely used, there's no shortage of tutorials, documentation and best-practice resources available. I found the system easy to customize, simple for importing data and especially useful for retargeting engaged subscribers through the Facebook integration.

Cons

List segmentation felt pretty restrictive especially compared with other tools. It was missing options like segmenting by ZIP code or targeting users within a certain radius of specific geographic areas. Another frustrating limitation was that you couldn't move someone to a different list until 7 days had passed since the last send and in some cases that just wasn't practical at all. We eventually moved to another platform that offered those features and it has worked out much better for our email marketing.

versatile templates

Pros

Creating newsletters has been a consistently positive experience. Whether I import my own templates or design them within the platform, I have plenty of flexibility. The software continues to evolve with new features and the combination of written guides and video tutorials makes it easy for me to learn anything I'm unsure about.

Cons

Honestly, there's very little for me to complain about with this platform. Anytime I've been unsure how something works, the help section has done a good job of explaining it. The only occasional frustration is that some templates I pick can't be modified or edited. Even then, it usually isn't a major issue because creating my own template can still be done fairly quickly.

useful tool

Pros

Ever since I started with email marketing, this has been an invaluable tool for me. The platform feels very simple and is extremely simple to use.

Cons

Every now and then, when they rearrange parts of the interface, it becomes difficult to locate things again. It took me quite a while to work out where the campaigns section had gone and I'm also disappointed that the mobile app was discontinued.

affordable tracking

Pros

Getting started for free was a big plus even though I moved past that tier pretty fast. The platform is very simple to use, with a clean layout, easy setup and pricing that doesn't feel over the top. I also like that the cost scales as your business grows. It's been really useful for keeping notes on contacts and staying connected with clients. There are also plenty of extra features included although I probably won't use most of the sales or e-commerce tools so I can't really comment on that side.

Cons

Newest layout changes on the site haven't been my favorite although I'm sure I'll get used to them over time. Like I mentioned, there have been a few little kinks I've had to work around in the past but since my needs are fairly basic, they haven't caused too much trouble. I also sometimes wonder whether there's something better out there but the free trial definitely pulled me in and kept me using it.

Reliable email delivery

Pros

Among the email providers we've tested, this has been the most reliable for supporting our application and getting emails delivered to our customers consistently.

Cons

Integration between it and Mandrill is pretty difficult to understand especially when it comes to the application entry points. That part of the setup and overall management really needs improvement.

Powerful analytics and simplicity

Pros

Right away, the email software felt easy to use and I really enjoy how feature-rich and tech-focused it is. The measurement and analytics tools are especially strong and give plenty of useful insight.

Cons

One thing I'd still want is more control over designing the actual email. I've also run into situations where it looks correct in the editor and test email but the final version ends up displaying differently once it's sent.

segments stay organized

Pros

The different segments are something I absolutely love. I use them for one of my clients and they've been really helpful for keeping her lists organized.

Cons

At the beginning, it was a bit difficult to figure out and there's definitely a learning curve. Once I got the hang of it though, it worked out fine.

Shopify integration and flexible reports

Pros

Connecting it with Shopify and our customer collection software has been really helpful. The email reporting is strong and there's also a lot of flexibility when it comes to building and customizing templates.

Cons

One minor issue is that some emails still end up in spam folders. It was actually a bigger problem with Constant Contact but I'd still prefer to see that happen less often.

Reliable professional newsletters

Pros

After looking around for a polished, user-friendly platform to send newsletters, product guides and other email marketing content to a large customer base, this turned out to be exactly what we needed. We wanted something easy enough that different team members could use it without much training while still keeping a professional feel and it delivered on that really well. It has honestly been a lifesaver for our business. We love that our customers receive emails on a consistent schedule and the scheduled email feature has been especially useful for that. Just as important, we feel good about the emails we're sending because they look professional and stay consistent.

Cons

Coming from other email marketing tools, the platform's own terminology can take a little time to get used to at first. It uses more everyday, conversational language to make things simpler but that can still feel a bit confusing in the beginning if you're used to more standard email marketing terms. It can also be frustrating when you need to pull a very specific piece of data since the default settings are not always flexible enough. Overall, it feels like it was built more with beginner marketers in mind.

Strong ROI and useful templates

Pros

Between the drag-and-drop editor, the simple overall workflow and the formatting templates, this platform has been very practical to use. From an ROI perspective, it stands out as a leader for the channels we rely on.

Cons

Transparency could be better especially when emails are not being delivered and there is no clear explanation why. Customer support also leaves room for improvement. The automation for best practices does exist but the system still should not allow something like a 5mg image to be uploaded into the body of an email.

Pros

One thing that really helps is the free plan which is excellent for people or businesses that are just getting started. As your list grows, the pay-as-you-go option also gives you a flexible way to scale.

Cons

I'm still not certain whether lists can be separated using different tags and the API integration is fairly hard to understand and follow.

Strong campaigns and top deliverability

Pros

At first glance, it looks like a pretty basic email marketing platform but it actually comes loaded with advanced tools for segmentation and automation that make running campaigns feel very capable. The interface and onboarding are easy enough that just about anyone can get their first campaign up and running without much trouble. The forever-free plan is an excellent deal for small businesses and entrepreneurs and deliverability has been consistently excellent as well.

Cons

Pricing starts to climb once you move beyond the free plan but considering how approachable it is for people who aren't very technical, it still feels like it can be worth paying for.

Pros

One thing I really enjoy is its data-crunching capability. When it's used the right way, it can uncover a lot about how our community is interacting with our work especially through emails and similar outreach.

Cons

At times, the emails we send to donors and friends of our program don't actually reach them which is frustrating. Since we rely on it for marketing, that part of the platform doesn't always do the job the way we need it to.

User-friendly campaigns that save time

Pros

Right from the start, the platform feels very user-friendly and simple to navigate. The features are clear and easy so it doesn't take much training to get comfortable using it well. The design tools also make it simple to build attractive visual communications. You can add pictures, files, text and other elements in different ways without it feeling complicated even if you don't have any visual design experience. Another feature I really appreciate is the contact import option. Being able to pull contacts in from an Excel sheet or another document saves a lot of time. Duplicating campaigns is also a big plus because it speeds up the creation process and the option to send a test email before launching a campaign is extremely helpful.

Cons

One issue I've run into is with image quality while designing campaigns. Sometimes when I upload images, they appear blurry on the platform for no clear reason and I suspect it may have something to do with how the software handles image quality. I also don't like the way contact updates work across lists. To update one person, you have to go into each individual contact list and any changes made only apply to that specific list instead of automatically updating everywhere that contact is subscribed.
