“love the responsive support”

Pros

The biggest strength of this application is its simplicity. The design feels very user friendly which makes it a pleasure to use. On top of that the support team replies to emails very quickly and really does everything they can to help with any troubleshooting problem.

Cons

Only downside is that the Self-Hosted version is still quite a bit behind ActiveCollab 8. Hopefully it will be released soon since it's noticeably better than ActiveCollab 7.

“packed with great features”

Pros

ActiveCollab 8 brings a lot of genuinely useful features and feels like a major application level step up from ActiveCollab 7. The support team has also been outstanding. Whenever I've needed help, they have responded efficiently and with clear, practical guidance including video tutorials.

Cons

I'd still love to see the option to assign more than one person to the same task. It would also be very helpful to have a way to download an entire project in text format together with all of its attached files.

“Clean UI and simple workflow”

Pros

After trying pretty much every option out there, ActiveCollab still comes out on top for its simplicity and well-designed UI/UX. Overall both the desktop version and the mobile app are genuinely pleasant to use.

Cons

Nothing major to complain about. There are probably some limits when it comes to customization but honestly that's also part of what keeps it so simple and enjoyable to use.

“It is a workflow powerhouse”

Pros

Five years in and still going strong as I would say ActiveCollab is still the one tool I rely on to keep everything together in one place. I can handle task management, time tracking, estimates, billing, invoicing and income reports without jumping between different apps. They also keep rolling out genuinely useful features and it is clear they listen to user feedback when making improvements.

Cons

My only real complaint is that recurring tasks sometimes get scheduled on non-working days like weekends in my case.

“Reliable and user-friendly platform”

Pros

ActiveCollab has been a really valuable tool in our day to day work. The interface is also clean, well structured and very user-friendly and the platform is responsive and dependable without buggy behavior. Plus it works really well for both team collaboration and individual projects which is why we've ended up building it into so many of our internal processes. On the few occasions when something needed attention, the support team responded quickly and resolved the issue in no time.

Cons

There is honestly very little to complain about. If I had to mention anything, it would just be that there is still room for a few more integrations or some extra quality-of-life improvements but overall it already meets our needs very well.

Pros

One of the best parts of this software is being able to collaborate on work and share data with my spouse. Everything also feels very well organized which makes it even better to use.

Cons

Honestly I don't have any complaints about this software. It's very reliable, simple to use and I'd definitely recommend it.

It gives a very clear overview of everything happening across the team. Creating projects and tasks and then keeping track of them works really well too.

The tool is not very user friendly for beginners especially for people who aren't used to working with project management tools.

Creating task lists in ActiveCollab is very easy and being able to set accurate durations and add dependencies for each task makes the whole process efficient and practical.

The user support feels limited and getting help can sometimes take longer than expected.

Using it as a more active alternative to Capterra, I really appreciated how they are pushing things forward with organizational telemetry and communication. Plus it offers a wide range of integrations and visualizations that you simply don't get from Office. It feels a bit like having Trello and a more traditional Office-style platform combined into one.

The biggest challenge was the learning curve since it took a while to understand everything available and become efficient with all of its features.

Pros

It's very easy to use and for a small agency it covers quite a lot of what's needed. The support team is very responsive and the product keeps evolving on a fairly regular basis which is reassuring.

Cons

The tool is still missing quite a few features including support for double tax, better-looking invoices and estimates, a customizable project list, email notifications without an external SMTP option and missing CSV reports among others.

Pros

Working with ActiveCollab has been a very positive experience overall. As the platform makes it easy to stay on top of tasks and projects thanks to its simple navigation and user-friendly setup. Assigning work to team members and setting deadlines is especially helpful and the interface feels clean, clear and easy to use.

Cons

Even with all the strong features it offers, the part I liked least was the limited layout and design customization. While the interface is simple and pleasant to use, there are not many options to personalize the look and feel to match specific preferences or brand identity.
