Pros
Deltek allows detailed breakdowns of work structure, which I have used in the production of consolidated reports as well as subsidiary, office, and departmental reports. This software is able to handle an unbelievable number of transactions and data without ever slowing down. I appreciate the admin control it offers, with which I can restrict access to specific regions or information based on an employees job in the company. And I can instantly revoke any access rights (in case an employee resigns, for example), which I also appreciate.
Cons
For someone without enough accounting background, Deltek Vision would be very difficult to understand. Thats what happened with most of my colleagues, and I had a tough time training everyone after I got the training from the Deltek team myself. The majority of engineers are unable to create and run project reports. When they do receive a report, it is not easy to understand due to the complex terminologies being used. We eventually had to hire a database specialist to extract maximum value.

Recently I have learned how to use Deltek a comprehensive software that handles fee calculations and resource scheduling.
Cons
It requires extensive training to effectively use it. There are bugs and occasional crashes. To achieve desired outcomes all fields must be filled in, making it less intuitive.

It is a fantastic resource for managing project data, business development and customer databases for all clients. While I haven't explored the project management components as a whole, I have heard they are quite good as well.
Cons
As someone in the architecture field I am amazed at how unattractive and outdated the interface looks. Some architects refuse to use it due to its unappealing design, causing significant headaches. A redesign or facelift would be greatly appreciated. Additionally longer project names are difficult to view as they get cut off in the scroll view. Generating reports is also not very intuitive.

Deltek offers great flexibility in building timesheets for different projects and hours. The smallest unit of time I am aware of is 0.5 hours which is excellent! It allows me to report time spent more accurately.
Cons
Sometimes it is hard to find a specific project if I only know a portion of its name and not the beginning.

The most useful feature in Vision in our experience is the ability to enter time for specific projects and generate monthly billing seamlessly.
Cons
The Project Management module is more suitable for larger projects not the scale of our company. It would be beneficial to have a scaled back version that suits our size.

I have been using Deltek Vision for over 9 years and it works exceptionally well. I rely on it daily to keep my working hours and timesheets up to date.
Cons
The only issue I have with it is that I need to open the application in Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer to access all its capabilities. While it can be opened in Chrome or Firefox the options are limited to timesheets and not project management.

I like that the buttons and options are not overwhelming and the overall design and colors are visually attractive.
Cons
I have had to contact the payroll department five times already to assist me in correctly inputting my travel and working hours. I needed to create separate columns for traveling hours and regular working hours but the software doesn't calculate the hours automatically. It becomes confusing when dealing with overtime and determining which category to include the OT hours in. If I input it incorrectly the software gives an error without explaining the problem. I wish the software would simply prompt me to input working and driving hours and it would handle the calculations based on company protocol and California law. Additionally, I am still uncertain if I've correctly entered my travel expense reports, but I don't want to spend another three hours trying to figure out an alternative method.

Its easy to learn, has tons of data files to export and use. there are some very useful features. A company could run all financial aspects and management tools of their firm with this one system but for a bit of money. There are options to use this in the cloud. Training is available although at a cost. Many advantages, many uses.
Cons
Would be great if there was a ease of use for non-financial personnel. More useable help links that really get you to where you need to be, less costly. Wish it was not going away.

Easy to keep track of time for consultants. Fairly easy to navigate through the system, but you need to use it all the time otherwise youll forget. I like the fact that it predicts or can search for fields even if you dont have a full job number for a project. Love their app.
Cons
The app works very slow and inefficiently. loading time is too long. There arent as many options available on the app as I would like (i.e. to read comments that people write before I approve their timesheet or expense sheet).

Love Deltek Vision purchasing and asset management modules because they allow me to track purchase orders and fixed assets; It helps me acquire new business, improves performance and optimizes the operations of our company.
Cons
Some staff members do not find the user interface as it does not have much ability to change the screen size. In addition, it may not be ideal for companies that only require specific modules, since all the modules are included in the software.

Time and expense management as well as reporting and being able to drill down for PMs on certain aspects of their projects. The reporting functions well, and the batch billing is excellent for running large amounts of invoices at one time.
Cons
I dont like that it only runs on internet explorer. Could use more advancements in terms of interface design. It would be great if they could run unposted labor reports that included the billing rates which is a minor inconvenience. Not HR inclusive.

Highl6 customizable. A very powerful software that can meet a lot of the companys needs. Custom store procedures can be created to automate company processes since it uses SQL as the backend database. The use of workflows is very useful because of the task automation tools.
Cons
Training is very expensive. The security portion is cumbersome and sometimes not very flexible.

The capabilities are amazing.
Cons
Its a bit bulky. I wish that there was more of an "a la carte" way to use the program. We are a small design firm, and a good chunk of Vision isnt really anything we use.

Pros
Deltek Vision is a complex and well-designed software but it can seem too overwhelming for non-tech untrained staff members. However, it offers a great variety of modules to help you in your business; creates some great reports.
Cons
They do not offer any tutorials with the program. I have used You Tube videos to help out periodically.
