Pros

I can easily record the hours I have worked and I like the ability to utilize different codes for vacation time.

Cons

Automatic documentation is lacking. I have to manually input time with codes.

Not easy to use

Pros

There isn't much to like about it except for the fact that I have to use it.

Cons

I find it not very user-friendly. The UX and UI could be improved, as they feel somewhat clunky. ALSO, the software frequently crashes, which makes it frustrating to use at times.

Requires time to learn

Pros

Deltek allows detailed breakdowns of work structure, which I have used in the production of consolidated reports as well as subsidiary, office, and departmental reports. This software is able to handle an unbelievable number of transactions and data without ever slowing down. I appreciate the admin control it offers, with which I can restrict access to specific regions or information based on an employees job in the company. And I can instantly revoke any access rights (in case an employee resigns, for example), which I also appreciate.

Cons

For someone without enough accounting background, Deltek Vision would be very difficult to understand. Thats what happened with most of my colleagues, and I had a tough time training everyone after I got the training from the Deltek team myself. The majority of engineers are unable to create and run project reports. When they do receive a report, it is not easy to understand due to the complex terminologies being used. We eventually had to hire a database specialist to extract maximum value.

The tool for calculations and scheduling

Pros

Recently I have learned how to use Deltek a comprehensive software that handles fee calculations and resource scheduling.

Cons

It requires extensive training to effectively use it. There are bugs and occasional crashes. To achieve desired outcomes all fields must be filled in, making it less intuitive.

Graphics need improvement

Pros

It is a fantastic resource for managing project data, business development and customer databases for all clients. While I haven't explored the project management components as a whole, I have heard they are quite good as well.

Cons

As someone in the architecture field, I am amazed at how unattractive and outdated the interface looks. Some architects refuse to use it because of its unappealing design, which causes significant headaches. A redesign or facelift would be greatly appreciated. Plus, longer project names are difficult to view as they get cut off in the scroll view. Generating reports is also not easy, making the process more time-consuming.

Struggling with help desk

Pros

Personally I found it simple and easy to use even though it might be too complex for our company. If you use it to its fullest extent it is a great product.

Cons

The help desk is quite hard to understand and relying on a third party for training has proven to be costly.

Highly satisfied with Deltek

Pros

Deltek offers great flexibility in building timesheets for different projects and hours. The smallest unit of time I am aware of is 0.5 hours which is excellent! It allows me to report time spent more accurately.

Cons

Sometimes it is hard to find a specific project if I only know a portion of its name and not the beginning.

Maximizing efficiency with deltek vision's

Pros

The most useful feature in Vision in our experience is the ability to enter time for specific projects and generate monthly billing seamlessly.

Cons

I think the Project Management module is better for bigger projects, which doesn't really work for our company's size. It would be helpful to have a simpler version that fits our needs better.

Efficient centralized time tracking

Pros

I have been using Deltek Vision for over 9 years and it works exceptionally well. I rely on it daily to keep my working hours and timesheets up to date.

Cons

The only problem I have with it is that I need to open the application in Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer to access all its features. While it can be opened in Chrome or Firefox, the options are limited to timesheets and don't include project management.

Pros

I like the logical layout of data and the smooth integration of custom development which seems to have fewer issues compared to other software programs. Also, the ability to search across different hubs ensures tailored results for specific needs.

Quite impressive

Pros

I find the software easy to use in most areas, and it offers alot of features. It acts as a one-stop shop for many aspects of my business, and the web client makes collaboration and tracking simple, no matter where I am.

Cons

There is a steep learning curve, and sometimes there are glitches or areas where I get stuck due to the system's sensitivity. Loading times can also be slow when working in different parts of the application.

Track time and expenses anywhere

Pros

The ability to track my time anywhere is a key feature that I like. With the mobile app I can easily find the specific job I am working on and log my time against it. I also like the ability to create detailed expense reports directly from the app.

Trouble logging personal hours

Pros

I like that the buttons and options are not overwhelming and the overall design and colors are visually attractive.

Cons

I have had to contact the payroll department five times already to assist me in correctly inputting my travel and working hours. I needed to create separate columns for traveling hours and regular working hours but the software doesn't calculate the hours automatically. It becomes confusing when dealing with overtime and determining which category to include the OT hours in. If I input it incorrectly the software gives an error without explaining the problem. I wish the software would simply prompt me to input working and driving hours and it would handle the calculations based on company protocol and California law. Additionally, I am still uncertain if I've correctly entered my travel expense reports, but I don't want to spend another three hours trying to figure out an alternative method.

Wish for better usability

Pros

Deltek is easy to learn, with tons of data files to export and use. There are some very useful features, and I can manage all the financial aspects and operations of my firm with this one system, though it does come at a cost. There are cloud options available, and training is offered, but for an additional fee. It has many advantages and can be used in various ways.

Cons

It would be great if there were a simpler version for non-financial personnel. More helpful links that actually take you where you need to go would be useful, and it would be nice if it were less expensive. I also wish it wasn't going away.

I find it to be a good tool for keeping track of work-in-progress and daily accounting transactions.

Cons

Easy time tracking

Pros

It is easy to keep track of time for consultants. It’s fairly easy to go through the system, but I need to use it regularly, or else I forget how to use it. I like that it predicts or can search for fields, even if I don't have the full job number for a project. I love their app.

Cons

The app works very slowly and inefficiently, with long loading times. There are not as many options available on the app as I would like, such as the ability to read comments people write before I approve their timesheet or expense sheet.

Pros

I love the Deltek Vision purchasing and asset management modules because they allow me to track purchase orders and fixed assets. They help me acquire new business, improve performance, and optimize our company’s operations.

Cons

The user interface difficult to use because it doesn't offer much flexibility in changing the screen size. Also, it may not be ideal for companies like mine that only need specific modules, as the software includes all modules, even the ones we don’t need.
