As a user of Dovico software in a mid-sized company, I've found it to be a reliable and useful tool for tracking employee time and managing projects. One of the biggest pros of Dovico is its ease of use. The software has a clean and user-friendly interface, making it easy for me and my colleagues to track our time and for managers to manage projects. It also provides a range of tools for managing projects, including time tracking, scheduling, invoicing, and reporting. Dovico offers integrations with a variety of other business applications, including QuickBooks, Xero, and FreshBooks. Another major advantage of Dovico is its flexibility. It allows me to track my time in a variety of ways, including via the web, mobile app, or even from my desktop. This makes it easy for me to track my time no matter where I am, and for managers to get an accurate picture of how our teams are performing.
Cons
However, I've noticed some downsides to using Dovico. One of the major cons for me is that it can be a bit complicated to set up and configure. This is especially true for my small business, which doesn't have dedicated IT staff to handle these tasks. Pros
This software allows me to submit my timesheet and hours to the project supervisor. It does what I expect time tracking software to do.
Cons
The timesheet does not allow me to input hours without also inputting notes or descriptions for what I've done. The web interface elements look a bit old, and the UI is not very intuitive. I have to create a timesheet, add the timesheet, and manually input the descriptions.

I like that I can add as many lines as I like for any employee. I can add lines for different uses for time off and additionally, lines that can be attributed to certain tasks or projects. This is very helpful for me as a supervisor to see how employees are spending their time.
Cons
I find the Dovico dashboard not intuitive. I need to be very familiar with the software to know where to navigate from the home screen.

Pros
I used this software to track my time usage for the projects I was on. Although the interface was simple, it got the job done. I was able to easily track my time, and it does that well. We switched to a new product recently, and it is so much worse than Dovico!
Cons
My only complaint about this software is that the interface might need a little updating. However, the backend works well for me.

The great report writing feature allows me to customize reports to my needs and is easy to use. I often find myself customizing reports for one reason or another, to pull specific data that we need to look at. The report writing tool is intuitive to use and plenty robust. I can generate reports and import them into spreadsheets for analysis.
Cons
The software is great, and I have no complaints. Now, if only I could get all employees to ensure they record their hours on time each week without needing multiple prompts!

I find the usability and process to create new project initiatives to be quite good.
Cons
It's not possible for me to customize a report based on user necessity without special software. It's not easy to find APIs to integrate Dovico with other systems available within my company. I want to integrate Dovico Timesheet with the payroll system available within my company to get human cost per hour automatically every month.

Cons
I can't recall a timesheet once it's submitted. Also, some of the report types could be explained in more depth. In the "Budgeted Time and Costs" window, when I filter to a specific person, the "Hours" field doesn't change to show the individual's total hours.

Cons

Logging time is pretty easy for me, although it could remind me if I had forgotten to submit.
Cons
The maximum number of lines on a timesheet is 200, which is not enough for me. When I export reports to Excel, they need a lot of manipulation, such as converting from text to numbers and dealing with loads of hidden spare lines.

I Love the ease of use in tracking actuals versus budgets for all projects, client invoicing, and accessibility , I can access it anywhere, anytime.
Cons

Cons
When I try to change how projects are viewed by the user of the Timesheet, the Projects and Tasks editing pages don't look anything like the Timesheet. It can be a bit of trial and error for me to get the look I want for how projects and tasks are grouped and displayed for the user.

I believe that Dovico captures everything relevant to a consulting engineering company regarding time and expenses. I also like that supporting documents can be uploaded to back up claims, which elevates it from ordinary timesheet software to a truly practical tool. The pie charts are particularly useful, giving me the added advantage of evaluating where most time is spent, and I can drill down into the details with ease.
Cons
At times I find it a bit difficult to get support online, but as soon as I send an email to the support team, help comes through. I'm not sure what can be done to make it easier to get help online.

“We have gotten spoiled!
Pros
Without a doubt, the best thing about this software for me is the reports. Sometimes, we have 50 active billable clients, and Dovico provides the reports I need to ensure they all get billed properly. We used the locally hosted platform for five or six years before switching to the Dovico-hosted version. Having Dovico host the software has been a huge plus because it allows our employees to log their hours while working in the field.
Cons
The only complaint I have, and "complaint" is stronger than necessary, is the price increases. I've shopped around and found cheaper services but have not found anything that even comes close to Dovico's reports. I'm spoiled and gladly pay my annual subscription!

Dovico is meeting my needs for reporting and invoicing our services to our customers.
Cons
At this point, I am using two solutions to manage our support engineers' time. One of them is Dovico, where they register the time they spend for our customers, and another is MS SharePoint, where we create a schedule for them to know where they have to be in the next days. I would love to use the same application for both needs, but unfortunately, Dovico is not providing the right solution for that. My colleague, who is in charge of scheduling our resources, discussed with somebody from your support, and they couldn't find a solution.

I consider it easy to use for creating modules and adding employees, and it's easy to customize.
Cons
The biggest issue I have is that every month I run a report of timesheets that need paying, which could be backdated months. In order to flag which payments were already made in the past, I have to go into each entry on each employee's calendar and tick it off one by one. This takes hours to do, and it would be nice if I could more easily mark or tick them off.

I believe it's easy to use, and being internet-based is great for employees out of the office.

I recommend a couple of changes. First, once a timesheet project is clicked, it would be great if it can be automatically minimized and separated out of the internet software to its own link and not left as a tab. Any given day, many other tabs are opened at the same time, and sometimes a quick close of the internet engine closes what I want to close but inadvertently closes the Dovico timesheet as well. This is and should be a background program for most people, not a primary program, so although you may think it needs to be front and center, I prefer it to be in the background minimized automatically on its own internet connection and expanded when I click on it. I think this was how it was when it was a program run on the computer, not internet-based. Second, I would like the list of projects to have the option to list in the opposite order, from top to bottom. Over the years, I have accumulated many project numbers, and when adding new and working on more recent project numbers, I have to always scroll down the page to the bottom, which is a pain. It should be like Outlook, where you can simply switch the list up or down. Thanks.

It is very user-friendly and easy to teach new employees how to use. The layout of the timesheet is very self-explanatory. I also like that I can log in from anywhere to enter my time or do maintenance work, and the mobile app is a plus.
Cons
I feel restricted as far as using the program with QuickBooks payroll portion. Rather than setting up the software as it is meant to be used (meaning to use it for tracking the actual job task), I have to use the "Tasks" to correspond with the employee's title in order for payroll to submit correctly.

I find it frustrating not being able to enter expenses on multiple jobs from one screen. In a day's time, I work on five different projects and use the same expenses, but I have to submit each project expense, which takes time. Also, I cannot change the project number without deleting it and starting over if an expense is submitted on the wrong project.

It's very user-friendly. All our offices, including those in PA, NY, and the United Kingdom, use Dovico. Both inner office employees and on-site inspectors can upload and enter their hours anytime, with no excuses. It's very helpful in time tracking and allocating.
Cons
I am not sure if it's an internal issue I need to work on or something with the software. For some reason, the start and end dates do not always match on the employees, and I have to go in and adjust them so everyone is aligned.
