“Packed with useful data”

Pros

Being open source is a big plus and it comes loaded with useful data. You just type in what you need and it pulls up all kinds of available, secure and helpful files.

Cons

It's not really suited for everyone since you can come across files that require more knowledge or training to use properly. Still, people usually add warnings so there is some guidance in place.

The product is very user-friendly and getting around it feels simple.

At times though, locating the exact information within the tool can still take a bit of effort.

Tracking down bugs in my software is really simple and that helps me fix issues pretty quickly.

Version control is one of the best parts of using this software. It feels very accurate and dependable and the way changes are outlined and shown makes everything clear and easy to follow.

Cons

One thing that could be better is how comments and replies appear since they are not shown in near real time and I have to keep refreshing to see updates. The Slack integration helps quite a bit though and partly makes up for that delay.

Pros

This has been the best version control tool I've used. It really helps with managing projects across the entire software development life cycle.

Cons

No issues to mention at this point. Regular updates keep everything running without hassle.

Being able to use it on both online and offline machines, while also editing directly within the app on site, is what really makes it stand out.

Cons

This software allows for local editing and offline work.. but syncing changes (pushing) to the remote server still requires an internet connection.

With this application, there's no longer any need to look for an editor or another simple way to deploy the websites I create for publishing. Everything feels much more simple with it.

Cons

You really have to be very meticulous when using it and the code doesn't automate itself the way it does in editors. There's no built-in correction either so everything has to come from you.

Working as a recruiter, it really helps to see candidate activity and how often someone is actually using it.

When a candidate looks promising, I still can't access their contact details and its a huge limitation..

One thing I really appreciate is how practical it is. Hosting projects is simple.

There are times when it takes a while for the project to finish publishing. It could be related to the internet connection but in my case it does feel slow sometimes.

Deploying code through the pipeline has become really simple with Github Actions.

It would be even better if Github Actions offered more drag-and-drop options for basic pipeline steps.

Github Copilot is definitely useful but for someone just starting out, the price doesn't really feel justified.

This feels like one of the most advanced platforms out there, with a huge set of features and a really impressive UI/UX. It's free for open-source work, the free plan is still quite strong even for private projects, Github Actions works very well and the issue tracking system is genuinely good. Also, the performance is hard to match.

Cons

Pricing can climb pretty fast and end up getting expensive sooner than expected.

The biggest advantages is that the code is open source so anyone who wants to make changes can contribute. That really helps speed up debugging and overall software development.

Using the website as an admin can be a bit tricky at first and it takes reading some documentation before getting started on a project.

Working as a cloud security engineer, I rely on it every day across both production and testing environments. It's really convenient to integrate CI/CD through Github Actions and configure authentication tokens without much hassle. It also works very well as a collaboration platform. Also, it helps us track deployment versions and monitor the production pipeline closely which is important for preventing downtime.

Cons

Github app could definitely be improved with more functionality. A lot of features that are available on the web version are still missing from the app.

Pros

Any time development comes up, it is usually part of the conversation. It's easily one of the most complete platforms for open-source code, project management and repositories. Also, almost everything is available for free which is a huge advantage and I've only run into a couple of features that require a premium plan.

Cons

Without a technical background or any experience in software development, it can feel pretty difficult to navigate and use at first.
