Fantastic

Pros

Being able to share your work with everyone through public repositories is a huge plus. The Markdown support makes READMEs and other documentation look clean and polished for both public and private repositories. The open-source community on GitHub is also very supportive and GitHub Actions helps make CI/CD much more efficient. Also, the direct integration with leading cloud providers is really useful and having free private repositories is a big win.

Cons

A few of the paid services for private repositories do feel a bit expensive compared with what other repository providers offer.

flexible sync across devices

Pros

The synchronization works really well especially with how it connects across the devices being used. It also gives plenty of time for coordination and collaboration which makes working together much more convenient.

Cons

There are only a few links available right now. Expanding the number of links would make it even more helpful.

Liked it overall

Pros

Probably the best-known option for continuous integration and there's a huge range of tools that integrate with it. It's fairly simple to work with even as someone without a development background and it does a really strong job of tracking changes and helping uncover bugs.

Cons

Since it holds such a dominant position in this space, you more or less have to accept the platform as it is, flaws included. In general, it still feels a bit too centered around developers which can make things less inviting for people using it more for configuration work even though it's useful for more than just code.

Clean interface

Pros

Using it feels very simple, with quick access to what I need and a really nice interface.

Cons

I haven't run into any issues yet though that may be because I don't use it very often.

poor fit for mixed teams

Pros

This platform really caters to developers and highly technical users.

Cons

When it comes to actual project management or team management, this just isn't the right answer. If your team includes non-technical people who also need to work in the system, this is definitely the wrong tool for them.

Solves almost everything

Pros

Whenever I'm stuck on a tech task, It is usually where I end up finding the answer. It really doesn't matter which programming language I'm using, there's always a huge amount of helpful resources available. Most of the time, the solutions I find there are far better than what I was trying on my own and there always seems to be a smarter way to fix the problem.

Cons

Getting a new app deployed can be pretty tedious and takes a good amount of time. It definitely feels more suited for technical people especially at the beginning. The learning curve was a bit tough for me and the first time I tried deploying a script in the app, it was a challenging process.

essential for team coding

Pros

As a software engineer working with a team, I honestly can't picture doing the job without it. I use it for pushing code, pulling older versions, commenting, reviewing and planning team development work,it really covers just about everything you need from a code version management system.

Cons

There's a slight learning curve when it comes to the git commands but it's nothing too overwhelming.

helpful hub for developers

Pros

Whenever someone is coding or working as a developer, I usually recommend it for finding answers to coding errors and bugs. It helps a lot and the community support is generally very good.

Cons

One downside is that it can feel quite complex to use. If someone is not a coder, it usually takes time to understand how it works and figure out a problem.

An awesome product

Pros

Across our whole company, it plays a role in one way or another and it's been a really positive tool for us. From a product management standpoint, it helps keep people aligned organized and on the same page even when multiple teams are involved. We also really appreciate how much we can tailor the platform to fit the way we work. Also, it's very simple to use.

Cons

Since we rely on it for both development and product management some of the boards can feel a bit crowded and overwhelming at times. Aside from that, there really isn't much negative I can say about the software.

Perfect for software projects

Pros

This tool is what we rely on to build and store all of our software projects especially for website development. The speed and immediacy it offers make it an incredibly useful and essential part of our workflow.

Cons

It's a fairly complex and highly structured tool so there are still several features we don't really take advantage of.

Good machine learning codebase

Pros

There's a huge collection of source code for machine learning algorithms which makes it incredibly useful for the kind of work I do.

Cons

One thing that would make it even better is a dedicated dataset section for researchers organized by specialty or domain, for example, health care, face recognition and similar areas.

Liked using it

Pros

It is what we mainly rely on for source code management. It works well when multiple collaborators need to work at the same time. We've also set up continuous integration so the project builds and updates automatically whenever we commit changes or merge a branch. Also, GitHub Pages is a nice bonus since it lets us host a website for free.

Cons

A few things still feel missing, like the option to open a repository directly in VS Code. It would also be better if branch handling, merge requests and tracking had their own dedicated pages or links with more detailed information, similar to what GitLab provides.
