“reliable source code hub”
Pros
It has been really useful for storing the source code for my own projects and I also use it a lot to pull open-source code when I need it.
Cons
It would be better if there were some onboarding when you first create an account since a few features can feel confusing to use at the beginning.

“free tools”
Pros
The reason I appreciated it was that the platform is free to use, while also offering paid software for people who want additional options.
Cons
My biggest issue with the free version of it is that, with around 85 million users on the platform, your information can end up being accessible to a huge audience.

“Collaboration and automation”
Pros
This tool has been really valuable for programming work because it comes with a wide range of features that are genuinely useful in development. It handles bug reporting, tracking and management very well. Also, it supports integration and automation which helps reduce repetitive work. The team reporting and commenting features are also helpful when collaborating with others. Another big plus is that GitHub keeps improving over time. It offers a full set of tools that helps teams manage bugs, fit into existing workflows and automate routine tasks.
Cons
It remains the top platform for software development and collaboration. It's where developers go to share code, work on projects together and create impressive software.

“helpful tools for event planning”
Pros
During event planning, the features are simple to manage and always accessible when I need them.
Cons
It would be even better if more parts of the program supported outsourcing from the main program. It could also do more to assist with event-related tasks and provide a bit more overall support.

“I enjoy using it”
Pros
As a source code management tool, this has been really valuable for our team. It supports continuous integration and deployment and it lets multiple developers work remotely while staying in sync through GitHub operations. It's also a strong platform for developers who want to showcase their projects on it. Also, tracking issues is pretty convenient when collaborating with developers across different parts of the world.
Cons
Overall I think it's a very capable tool and I don't really have any major complaints. The only downside from my perspective is that the interface can feel a bit challenging for new users at first.

“developer-friendly features done right”
Pros
It feels incredibly well designed. Pretty much every feature seems built to make life simpler for users. I've worked with other VCS platforms, including Bitbucket and none of them really come close to what GitHub delivers. Since Microsoft acquired it, the platform has only kept improving, with regular additions that clearly cater to developers. The recent features I've enjoyed the most are the Command Palette and the File Tree while reviewing PRs.
Cons
Something I'd still like to see is file icons that match the actual file type instead of the same generic icon everywhere. Something closer to what code editors or IDEs usually show would be a nice improvement.

“beginner-friendly”
Pros
Having used it since 2017 and even after testing other version control platforms like Bitbucket, I'm still very happy with it and would absolutely recommend it. The part I appreciate most is how user-friendly it is especially with an interface that feels very welcoming for beginners.
Cons
Up to this point, I haven't come across anything about it that I dislike.
