“Open source teamwork with a learning curve”
Pros
Being open source is a big plus and the version control features do a strong job of helping us keep track of changes and coordinate everything we're working on.
Cons
Getting started with this software can be pretty challenging especially for anyone who isn't very comfortable with technology since the learning curve is quite steep.

“top-tier source control integrations”
Pros
This is an excellent platform for source control management and its integration support is among the best in the industry. That really helps boost productivity throughout the software development process.
Cons
To use it properly and take full advantage of its wide range of integrations, you do need a strong understanding of how the platform works.

“powerful versioning”
Pros
Keeping track of code and managing version control for every project is really convenient. It also lets you automate CI/CD pipelines which helps a lot with application deployments. Tagging each version is another big advantage since it makes it easier to separate features and functionality across development stages and test different alpha, beta and release builds. Also, working with a team feels very natural thanks to branches, tags, pull requests for new features and the issue manager.
Cons
One area that could definitely be better is the merge conflict handling. At times, resolving conflicts between different branches can be harder than it should be but overall it's still a very strong tool.

“excellent for parallel code workflows”
Pros
Managing code across multiple developers is really simple with it. It lets several people work in parallel on the same codebase while keeping conflicts to a minimum and merging changes is quite convenient. The branching strategy is especially helpful when you have to maintain multiple codebases for an application. Being able to create separate repositories for different codebases also makes everything more organized and practical to use.
Cons
Getting started can feel a bit complicated at first especially when setting up SSH for a new GitHub account.

“Impressive!”
Pros
An excellent version control platform that makes collaboration across different teams and business units feel smooth. It provides properly isolated development repositories, along with the ability to review and test changes before moving ahead.
Cons
Something it's missing is a built-in IDE. It can also feel a bit less approachable for non-coders and the learning curve is somewhat unusual.

“top choice”
Pros
Compared with GitLab and Bitbucket, GitHub has been the best fit for me. I honestly see it as one of the strongest version control tools available right now.
Cons

“free private repos”
Pros
Getting started with it takes barely 15 minutes and the overall experience is very simple. It works nicely with Git Bash and there are plenty of third-party tools that support it as well. One of the biggest advantages is that private accounts are available at no cost. It also integrates well into automation script execution workflows.
Cons
It falls short when it comes to giving managers enough tools to track usage properly or enforce access controls.

“Reliable version control for development”
Pros
Right now our focus is on web applications and software development and it is the platform our company relies on for that work. It helps us handle development efficiently and manage the deployment of multiple versions of our product without much hassle.
Cons
Removing unwanted files from the platform can be difficult at times. It would also be better if the free plan included a few more features.
