Being able to color-code and organize tasks into customized swimlanes offers a comprehensive view of deadlines and tasks. The option to take notes within tasks provides the flexibility of an agile management tool and a document handling system in one place.

In my experience using Kanban Tool, I haven't encountered any shortcomings. However, I did reach out to the support team when I felt like I was missing a feature, and they promptly responded and guided me to the solution I needed.

When I became a project manager, I stumbled upon Kanban Tools and needed a visual way to track sub-projects with short lifecycles. The good thing is that it was quite easy to set up and syncs well to my specific demands of each project.

Currently, I can't think of any cons, as most of them have been resolved. However, as I continue using Kanban Tools, I will suggest more ideas for improvement.

Pros

I really like the clean and modern interface. Compared to larger tools like Jira, it offers core features that function equally well, and in some cases, even better. The product is light and maintains a single interface without excessive page changes which helps you stay focused. It has great growth potential and doesn't try to replicate Jira, which is a major advantage.

Cons

I don't have any specific dislikes, but I haven't been able to test certain features since I'm on the free tier. Nonetheless, having a free tier is definitely a positive aspect. It would be great if some of the desired features that are currently unavailable in the free tier were included. Additionally, understanding the functionality of certain power-ups can be challenging since they lack clear explanations. When activated, it's not immediately evident how they should work, so having a better onboarding process would be beneficial. Another area for improvement is the fixed size of the right column, where the calendar, recurring tasks, and postponed tasks are located. This can result in a significant amount of wasted space if there are more items in one section compared to others.

I am fond of the visual aspect and cost effectiveness of the software. The color-coded tasks help me organize and balance my day effectively.

The app can be a bit difficult to navigate, and it doesn't offer the same level of functionality as the website. I would prefer having more control over my tasks through the app.

“Easy to start, use and at least one very important USP

Pros

You can start with ease and gradually expand as you use the tool. The setup process is quick, and the Powerups feature prevents your board from becoming overloaded. The most useful feature, which I haven't found elsewhere, is the ability to display the ToDo-List of each card on the board from the beginning, providing constant visibility without expanding it every time. It's a fantastic feature! Don't forget to check out the PowerUps in the Settings!

Cons

I need to be mindful of the number of cards I pin to the board to avoid overloading it quickly. Since there is no "EPIC" feature available, I use Swimlines as a substitute (which surprisingly works well), but it can make the board appear larger in certain cases. While I can create dependencies between cards and link them, there is no visible representation of these dependencies on the board itself (such as cards within cards). On the bright side, this prevents excessive administrative work and keeps things streamlined.

This tool has allowed us to stay on top of our daily work. It helps us track our tasks efficiently, and it is simple, easy, and fast to use. The email notifications keep us updated on our daily progress. I also assign work to my teammates using this tool.

I believe there could be more color options available, but it's possible that the feature exists and I just haven't discovered it yet.
