“great for flowcharts but needs cross-platform support
Pros
Once you get the hang of it, creating flowcharts becomes super easy. Having some project management or process management experience really helps but there are also some really helpful templates to guide you.
Cons
Since it's a Microsoft product, you can't use it across different platforms which makes it kind of limited when it comes to cross-functionality.

“very creative tools
Pros
I love how It gives you so many creative tools to design flowcharts and organizational charts. I have been creating a ton of organizational charts for my company lately and it's been a lifesaver.
Cons
I really wish the tool was more visually appealing and easier to access for some features. It feels like every time I use it, I am learning something new which can be frustrating.

“good for diagrams
Pros
It is great for creating flowcharts and diagrams for just about anything in an organization. Whether it's a simple organizational chart or a process map to improve agility, it has you covered. There are tons of templates to choose from or you can make your own custom diagram based on your needs.
Cons
It takes time to get the hang of it. Also adding lines can be tricky and it's hard to make them perfectly straight sometimes.

“nice interface but connectors are clumsy
Pros
The drag-and-drop interface in it is super interactive and I love how I can connect my diagrams to real-time data sources.
Cons
The connectors are clumsy to work with. Plus, it takes a lot of effort to learn how to use the software properly.

“familiar and easy to use
Pros
After using Microsoft for years...it felt really familiar. All the common menu options are exactly where you'd expect and it has everything I need.
Cons
Sometimes, positioning things exactly where I want them is frustrating. Diagrams can get messy really quickly if you are not careful.

“easy flowchart design but limited web version
Pros
I usually use this software for network design, whether it's for current setups or new projects. It's pretty easy to use and you can download icons from most network companies.
Cons
The web version is honestly the worst part. It's limited in what you can do and most of my current documents just won't open.

“perfect for training
Pros
It makes it so easy for our training department to create flow charts for new hires. The diagrams come out looking so professional which is awesome.
Cons
It is definitely my go-to. I don't have anything bad to say about it. Clients love the visuals I create with it.

“super easy to use
Pros
Super easy to use...part of the 355 office suite. There are lots of options for different types of organization charts and the connectors are really smooth to use.
Cons
It'd be great to have a simple diagram that only uses a title. The default templates don't give you that option and a "dotted line" to connect multiple staff members would be super helpful too.

“great templates:)
Pros
Creating network diagrams is very simple and the huge library of ready-made templates is a big help. You can find almost any type of drawing already partially done for you.
Cons
Depending on the size of the diagram (especially for networks or large plans), It can slow down, freeze or even crash unexpectedly.

“Easy to draw project graphs
Pros
It's easy to draw project-related graphs and diagrams that show how the project components are connected.
Cons
Since it's third-party software, it can connect to pretty much any project management tool which is nice.

“simpler flowcharts than PowerPoint
Pros
I used to make flowcharts in PowerPoint and it was such a problem. I had to create a new slide, resize shapes, add text boxes and arrows over and over again. With this tool, it's so much simpler! You get a blank canvas with a whole selection of shapes and arrows that connect automatically. Plus, any text you add adjusts automatically to fit the shape. It's way easier and I can focus on the content, not the formatting.
Cons
I wish It came included with Microsoft 365 for Business by default. The pricing model for It (and Microsoft 365 in general) is super confusing. It's great feature-wise but getting it and figuring out how to get the best deal is a problem.

“Perfect integration
Pros
visio integrates perfectly with other products, making it a natural addition to your toolset. It's designed to be super user-friendly, so you won't need much training especially if you are already familiar with other products in the suite.
Cons
Updating and modifying process flows especially the larger and more complex ones, can be clunky and prone to errors. Plus, it's not available as a web app yet which makes it harder for online or digital teams to access..it needs to be installed locally instead.

“works for simple models
Pros
Love how easy it is to use. I mainly use it to design a basic model for my projects or assignments. There are so many different shapes you can use and you can place them anywhere and connect them easily. It's a really convenient program for building quick, simple designs.
Cons
I am not a fan of how the program has limited components especially for my more complex designs at work. But it's not a huge issue since I can always use the text feature to label the shapes.

“smooth and versatile tool
Pros
Very interactive to use.. even without prior experience. It's so versatile and can even be used for personal projects.

Unfortunately, the software is not free. The price is high for something that does not do too much.

“my go to tool :))))
Pros
our go to for drawing network diagrams like the ones I do. The many stencils available make it super easy to create something that looks professional.
Cons
Sharing drawings for collaboration could definitely be improved. That's probably the biggest downside, as far as I can see.
