good tool

Pros

Turning email into something that feels more like a easy chat is a big part of why this works for me. The interface is simple, quick and simple and I really appreciate having dedicated spaces for team conversations, projects and clients. Keeping all emails in one inbox is also very convenient and the chat-style layout helps communication move faster.

Cons

Syncing email can sometimes take a bit longer than it does with more traditional email clients. The search function could be better and mobile app notifications are occasionally delayed. I also run into attachment issues from time to time especially after updating account settings or when adding images to email signatures.

Not your regular email management app

Pros

Spike provides me with the freedom and flexibility I need not only to manage emails but also to collaborate with colleagues, share files, organize chats, and leverage AI to enhance my productivity.

Cons

I absolutely love this software. It's amazing, good, and easy to use.

one inbox for everything

Pros

Having every inbox combined into a single view is really useful and the search functionality is powerful enough to find what I need quickly.

Cons

One frustrating part is that team communications come from a no-reply email so there's no way to respond directly. To contact them or report an issue, I have to start a completely new email thread. They also push feature promotions through inbox spam messages which feels intrusive and especially awful when I have 10+ accounts connected. Their product-led approach feels lost because the app's spammy messages show up before proper new feature announcements are sent through a real email.

message delivery issues

Pros

What stood out to me most was the inclusion of voicemail and text-to-speech features. It made multitasking much simpler since my emails could be read aloud and I also liked being able to record a message instead of typing the whole email out.

Cons

The biggest downside was that message delivery could be delayed for a long time at times. On some occasions, the messages never arrived at all.

works across devices

Pros

Having it available on multiple devices makes a big difference because the information is there whenever it's needed. The option to pin items for faster access is really useful and being able to locate any attachment by searching through a specific contact is a big plus.

Cons

One thing that could be better is making the reply all option more visible and easier to access, instead of having to dig around to find it.

clean text only emails

Pros

One of the best parts is how it strips out all the extra stuff in emails, like images and branding and turns everything into pure text. That makes messages much more direct and helps me focus on exactly what I need to understand.

Cons

Search feature still has room for improvement. It's not bad overall but it isn't quite accurate enough when trying to find something specific.

my review

Pros

Switching to this was a fantastic experience because the integration works incredibly well and feels very natural. You can move between the people-focused layout and a more traditional view and after using it for a few days it really starts to feel remarkable. I'm no longer getting frustrated with email threads or wasting time trying to find the right one to reply to. Having more of a chat-style experience is such a big improvement and I especially love using it on mobile which is something I honestly never felt with Gmail.

Cons

One thing I still haven't figured out is how to turn on an out-of-office response and that's definitely a feature I miss.

keeps conversations together

Pros

Every email gets assigned to the right contact which makes it really useful for tracking the full conversation history.

Cons

A few emails don't display properly in the mobile app and the mobile interface feels only average rather than polished. Deleting an email also takes too long, usually around 30 to 60 seconds.

more than just email

Pros

It does an excellent job with mailing and on top of that it offers plenty of other features that both you and your team can make good use of.

Cons

As far as I can tell, it still isn't very widely known but other than that, I really can't think of any downsides.

great features

Pros

My friend, who works overseas, recommended this to me and he uses it all the time. I've enjoyed using it because it lets me chat and receive emails in one place which makes it really useful as an all-in-one app. I probably don't use everything it can do yet and part of that is because Microsoft didn't support it so I had to switch to a different email address and use Google instead. Thankfully, that worked with it.

Cons

I haven't run into any real downsides.

easy to get started

Pros

UI/UX feels polished and user-friendly and it doesn't take much effort or training to start using the platform fully.

Cons

One thing still missing is an actual calendar-style view for the calendar which would make that feature much more useful.

fast and modern

Pros

Interface feels modern and fluid and the software is reliable and quick to work with.

Cons

What gets a little frustrating is not being able to customize the signature on the free plan. I'm not saying the link should be removed completely but it would be nice to have at least a few options for how the advertising link is used.

better email conversations

Pros

Being able to see when someone opens my email is really useful and I also love that I can reply in a way that feels more like WhatsApp. It makes conversations feel natural instead of robotic like they do on other platforms.

Cons

I'd really like it to be improved when an email goes out to multiple people. I'd like it to show exactly which person viewed it because right now if just one person opens it, it can make it seem like everyone did. That's not accurate and honestly feels a bit misleading.

easy email search

Pros

Tracking down a specific email from a particular sender is really easy and the interface feels familiar because it works a lot like the chat apps people use every day.

Cons

Honestly, I do not have any real complaints. I have enjoyed using the software enough to recommend it to a few friends. If I could add just one thing, it would be an option to unsend an email.

simple inbox experience

Pros

Using it feels refreshingly simple because I can handle my emails in a chat-style format and clearing out spam, junk and similar clutter takes hardly any effort.

Cons

My only real complaint is that the free version only allows two email accounts. I really wish they would change that or at least add a three-email option that doesn't come with such a steep price.

organized by sender

Pros

Keeping emails grouped into feeds by sender has been a huge help. I no longer have to dig around for "that other email" from a client because everything from that person is already collected in one place. It's also nice that I can switch back to the classic email view anytime I need to. The setup and integration were simple and having my Google Calendar right there to jump to without opening a separate app on my phone is a really nice bonus.

Cons

The only thing I'd change is making it more easy to assign emails to the priority box, unless that's just something I haven't fully figured out yet.

makes email manageable

Pros

After trying five different mail clients, including Apple Mail, this one has done the best job of making email management feel more manageable. It lets you separate priority from non-priority messages although I personally rely on the Unread and Read email setup. Keeping my emails in the Recent pane helps me stay focused instead of getting distracted by a pile of older messages I've already seen. The Unread pane leaves me with a clean inbox once I've finished processing everything and I can still jump back to previously read emails anytime I need to. Snoozing emails is another standout feature that a lot of other mail clients don't offer. I use it as part of my task management workflow since I can hide emails and have them reappear exactly when I need them again. Search is also very fast which means I don't have to spend as much time saving or tagging messages into folders. Since archived emails also appear in search results, I archive about a third of my messages to keep inbox clutter down. On top of that, it includes several genuinely useful features like email templates, tagging and quick replies. The best part is that it's free for personal use although honestly I'd be willing to pay for it.

Cons

I do wish there were a way to click a calendar date inside an email and automatically add it to the calendar. Smart email folders would also be a helpful addition.

not great for multiple accounts

Pros

The interface looks nice and polished. Email organization is decent when you're only using one email address, as long as you don't mind not having your own in-email branding or personal signature.

Cons

Things started falling apart once I added multiple accounts. I tested it with my personal email, my work account and another one I use for a client and it quickly became confusing whenever the same person emailed more than one of those addresses. It got even more frustrating when I tried to start a new email to someone who had contacted me through multiple accounts. At that point, it felt like a complete mess. The biggest reason this review is so negative though, is that they never clearly told me they would remove my branding. My signatures were replaced with their advertising and I only noticed after sending myself a test email. Later, I did find in the pricing table that free accounts don't include custom signatures. On top of that, if I want to use my own branding, they expect me to pay $144.
