powerful scheduling and forecasting

Pros

Unifocus stands out to me for combining employee scheduling, time tracking and labor forecasting all in one place which makes it especially useful for managing workforce operations.

Cons

One downside is that there can sometimes be confusion online because its name is similar to other companies which makes it a bit harder to identify quickly.

simple setup but weak comparisons

Pros

There was plenty of flexibility to customize both the survey and the content guests see. On the company side the survey recap was also clear and easy to follow.

Cons

Where it fell short was in comparing results against similar companies. The management dashboard also wasn't very user-friendly.

Organized time tracking

Pros

Keeping up with time tracking felt very manageable with Unifocus. Everything stayed organized and it was simple to locate what I needed from day to day without wasting time searching around.

Cons

It didn't happen very often but every now and then there was a small glitch where the information I entered wouldn't save so I had to type it in again.

accurate scheduling and payroll control

Pros

The scheduling and time tracking tools are very precise and they've done a lot to cut down on payroll mistakes and unnecessary overtime costs.

Cons

The interface looks a bit dated and moving between modules can feel slow and confusing especially for someone new to the system.

Staffing forecasts cut guesswork

Pros

Using historical trends, occupancy levels, events and similar data, Unifocus helps forecast staffing needs pretty well. It makes it much easier to avoid being either short-staffed or overstaffed and it removes a lot of the guesswork from building schedules.

Cons

One issue is that time-off approvals can sometimes clash with scheduling rules especially when they are not reviewed carefully. That can definitely create problems.

employee self-service done right

Pros

The employee self-service feature has been a standout for me. It's very simple, easy to follow and gives us a solid way to manage employee relations and scheduling in one place.

Cons

Getting fully comfortable with the software could be a bit simpler and better translation support would definitely help. Even with that, it's still been a pretty good system overall.

Pros

Worth every penny

Pros

Using it has noticeably reduced the time we spend on both critical work and the routine day-to-day tasks. The pricing felt very fair and it's absolutely worth the investment when the whole team uses it the way it's intended. When everyone is fully engaged with it, the scheduling, data collection and content output line up exactly with what we want to accomplish.

Cons

It pretty much delivered on everything it said it would. If I had to point out one issue, it would be that the system occasionally felt a bit slow during certain tasks although that could just as easily be due to our hardware needing an upgrade.

staff scheduling made simple

Pros

One thing that really stood out was how much simpler it made scheduling and shift management. It let me adjust staffing quickly based on what was needed each day which saved time and helped cut down on errors. It also made communication with the team better and gave a much clearer view of labor planning.

Cons

One downside is that the interface can feel a little outdated at times. It still works well overall but a more modern look and design would make the experience better.

Solid value and responsive support

Pros

I really enjoy the the value for money. The customer support has also been a strong point. It does come with a bit of a learning curve but once you get used to it, time tracking is useful and putting together variations is fairly simple.

Cons

The biggest weakness for me is the scheduling and payroll side. The system can run poorly at times and overall the service could still use some improvement.

Organized scheduling all in one

Pros

Using Unifocus has been a really positive experience because everything feels user-friendly and well organized. I could check my schedule, keep track of my hours and submit time-off requests all from one place without any hassle. The layout was clear and the fast updates made it much easier to keep up with changes without getting confused.

Cons

How schedule updates or shift changes are communicated could be better. Notifications did not always come through right away so there were times when it was a little too easy to miss something important.

HELPFUL scheduling for hotel teams

Pros

One of the best parts is how much simpler it makes scheduling. It looks at how busy the hotel is expected to be and helps build shifts around that which keeps us from being overstaffed or short-handed. The mobile app is really useful too since staff can view their schedules, request time off and swap shifts right from their phones. Overall it makes managing day-to-day staffing much more organized and convenient.

Cons

At times it does run a little slowly especially when a lot of people are on it at once. There's also a learning curve in the beginning and it isn't the most beginner-friendly system right away. Still once you understand how everything works, it becomes much easier to use.

Quick guidance by customer support

Pros

Any time I had questions the customer service team responded quickly and walked me through everything clearly. They were very helpful and made sure I got the guidance I needed which I really appreciated.

Cons

If I had to point out one thing it would be the wait time at moments but it was fine overall and didn't really bother me since the service itself was excellent.

flexible scheduling and shift swaps

Pros

Scheduling my weekly activities is very convenient and making changes when needed doesn't feel like a hassle. Being able to swap shifts whenever it suits me is a big plus as well. That alone deserves five stars from me.. kudos to the team.

Cons

I'd really like improved not having to keep jumping in and out of tabs whenever I need to correct an error. On top of that I've been dealing with a few crashes recently although I'm not completely sure whether that's an issue with the system or just something on my side.

Compliance confidence every week

Pros

Handling compliance across multiple states became much more manageable with Unifocus. The scheduler already accounts for different break laws and hour limits so I no longer had to calculate any of that manually. It saved me hours of work each week and gave me peace of mind knowing the schedules were fully compliant and legally sound.

Cons

Shift swap requests have to be answered quickly and approved by both sides otherwise they can't go through. There's also no override option which can be frustrating in certain situations.

Shift flexibility boosts satisfaction

Pros

something that has been really helpful at Unifocus is giving employees the ability to swap, drop, or pick up shifts right from their phones. It cuts down on scheduling conflicts and shift changes are handled much more effectively. I've also seen fewer open shift gaps that I need to step in and cover and overall it has helped improve employee satisfaction.

Cons

There are times when recent updates do not appear in the database right away which makes real-time analysis a bit difficult during busy periods. When that happens, I've had to manually reconcile the numbers myself and that takes extra time when quick decisions need to be made.

Reliable hotel scheduling

Pros

One reason this works well for me is that it can generate a standard schedule for the hotel which is really useful for regular planning.

Cons

attendance and time tracking win

Pros

The features I get the most value from are attendance management and time tracking. It helps a lot to see when someone has called in sick, is on holiday, or has upcoming time off. I also appreciate that employees can send holiday requests through the app which makes the whole process more efficient. On top of that being able to approve shifts and quickly check when staff have clocked in and out is really useful.

Cons

Creating employee schedules each month still takes a lot of time and can eat up several hours. There are automatic scheduling options available but they do not really fit our business because shifts need to be adjusted very often sometimes at the last minute.

Good for analytics and evaluation.

Pros

It is a very user-friendly, up-to-date analytics tool that makes assessing and approving time, as well as researching patterns and forecasts, simple. This has helped us make more informed decisions as a team during crucial times and within high-pressure environments. The simplicity of compiling analytics for evaluation is by far the strongest feature of Unifocus. They have a well-made app thats perfect for my team members who are always on the go.

Cons

I am still not sure if theres a way to enter the vacation times of individual users. I wish that different forms of pay (vacation, personal, unpaid) could be used in a single request rather than having to enter multiples. This is just something that I think can be improved to make the overall experience more efficient and helpful to the users.

Streamlines scheduling processes.

Pros

It is a rich software with lots of room for creativity that has improved our scheduling and time management. We just had to train a few of our employees to use it, and use it correctly, and it has saved department heads and assistant managers a significant amount of time by doing much of the schedule writing for them. I truly like how simple the interface is to navigate.

Cons

It took us time to properly train the employees on how to use it. Its a vast system to try to educate all at once. I believe simplifying a few elements and outlining an easier way to train would improve the user experience.

Capable of creating diverse schedules.

Pros

Overall, I am quite pleased with our Unifocus experience when compared to alternative scheduling apps. Im glad we have scheduling software that does what we need it to accomplish without much effort. Considering the size of our workforce, its a miracle how well it performs and allows us to create and manage unbelievably diverse timetables with ease. They have a good customer support team that understands what their clients need. Id definitely recommend this software.

Cons

Unifocus could be even better if they solve two of my issues. I do understand that we are leveraging the software for a heavy workload, but we did make it clear to the implementation team. Given that, the load times are excruciatingly slow, and I dont think its 100% due to our large workforce. They also make use of the decade-old point tracking system which is just stressful to use.

This app has potential butNeeds improvement

I appreciate the ability to track my working hours as an hourly employee andNotify managers of any discrepancies. It's also convenient to request time off in advance.

Cons

Unfortunately, the app has been consistently buggy, and recent issues have made it even worse. I haven't been able to access my past timecards for over a month, affecting my ability to review my paystubs. Additionally, there'sNo feature to seek help from the app developer or company directly.

Buggy app with missing access

Pros

I appreciate being able to log my hours as an hourly employee and alert managers if there are any discrepancies. It's also helpful that I can put in time-off requests ahead of time and keep managers informed in advance but that's all I can say..

Cons

Sadly the app has consistently been very buggy and recently it has gotten even worse. For at least the past month, I haven't been able to look at my previous timecards to verify my paystubs. On top of that there's no built-in way to contact teammates or reach anyone from the developer or company side for support.

Speeds up routine tasks.

Pros

Ive been doing payroll for a team of 70 or more people for roughly 5 years. The UniFocus application is really simple to use and helps me speed up this process while keeping mistakes at a minimum. I use it on a regular basis and have never had any serious problems. I also use the UniFocus app, which is I have found to be quite convenient. It informs me of who is on shift and allows me to approve time off requests and better manage my team.

Cons

An employee should be able to apply for a time off that could be due to any reason whatsoever. However, Unifocus app is unable to help me adjust exactly what sort of time off my employee wants to use. This, in my opinion, is the only real thing that is bad about the UniFocus app. This issue does not persist on the desktop version, however. For example, I had an associate seek 8 hours of personal time, but they only had 0 hours left. On a PC, I can easily change that to a vacation day or floating holiday, but I cant do so with the app.

Bring Back Shift View

I used to love the shift view feature, but recent upgrades removed it. I hope they bring it back and make the setup fit on one screen.
