“STAY AWAY! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!
Pros
Regrettably, there is nothing positive I can say about this software. I urge you to read the other reviews. It is rare for me to express such negative sentiments about a company, but I believe it is necessary to save other businesses from the ordeal of dealing with this software. It is truly that bad.
Cons
I used the "classic" software, which worked fine. However, in March 2018, we were upgraded to the "new software" developed by their team. I have to say, this is the absolute worst software I've ever encountered. Please take the time to read all the other reviews, especially the recent ones. They're all true. It feels like this software was created by fourth graders as a science fair project. I strongly advise against using this software. I don't want anyone else to go through what we're experiencing. We're not alone; just read the other reviews.

“Negative STAR RATING
Pros
There are absolutely no advantages to using this software or their customer service. I am unable to provide a negative rating that accurately reflects how horrific this "rewrite" upgrade has been. I genuinely cannot think of a single positive aspect of this upgrade, except for the fact that they should have stuck with the original software. By trying to be "trendy" and "updated," they have doomed businesses like ours to failure. I strongly advise against wasting your time and money on WebSelfStorage.

Ever since this software upgrade was implemented it has been a complete disaster! I can't even put into words how disappointed, frustrated, and angry I am with this upgrade, especially since there was no option to decline it. We have lost valuable information, and the accounting is completely messed up, which will require countless hours to untangle. Every time I reach out to WSS online chat or the helpline, their response is always the same: "I DON'T KNOW, I'LL HAVE TO SEND IT UPSTAIRS TO THE DESIGNER/PROGRAMMERS TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT." This software is a nightmare, incredibly difficult to use, and it takes four times the effort to perform a task, let alone print anything! It's an utter waste of time and money. The designer of this software must have attended a "special" school for the "I DON'T KNOW."

“New program/ worst decision WSS has made

There is very little to appreciate about this software. In fact, it has made my job more challenging in every aspect.
Cons
There are numerous issues. Primarily my numbers on reports are still incorrect even now. We switched over on 11/15/18, and despite spending endless hours on chat with representatives who know nothing about the new program and making multiple calls to the Admin line, all I receive is an assurance that they will open a ticket and inform me when the problem is resolved. Unfortunately I never hear back from them. The webinar was completely unhelpful. Furthermore, the program is not eco-friendly. Every report that needs to be printed takes up at least three pages, and it's a nightmare when printing a walk-around report, cash drawer summary, or management summary. We're wasting so much paper now. Even the prepaid customer details are still incorrect. I could go on and on, but I'll stop here. This new program has kept me upset and stressed since the beginning.

“Upgrade?? They mean downgrade !!

I used to love the previous version of WebSelfStorage as it was incredibly user friendly. The upgrade promised new features, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The only positive aspect I can mention is the message board.
Cons
The customer service is non existent. When I manage to reach someone through live chat or phone, they have no clue how to assist and simply claim they're working on it. It's frustrating for both the customers and the techs who receive the complaints but can't fix them. They should have tested this software with smaller facilities before forcing it upon larger ones. Now we're stuck dealing with the mess of nothing working. Moving a customer out takes forever and we've lost credit card information and invoices are all messed up. Tenants are constantly calling to ask why they're in auction status after making a payment. The lockouts are set for 6 days, but sometimes they happen after just 1 day. My summary reports often miss half of the cash intakes for the day. There's so much wrong with this upgrade, and others have already expressed their dissatisfaction.

“HORRIBLE
Pros
So far,there is nothing I like about the software. At this moment, I am struggling to resolve a minor issue that should have taken five minutes. I have spent over two hours on chat and phone support without any resolution.
Cons
The biggest con is that it simply doesn't work. I've been a customer since 2001, and the old version worked perfectly fine. There were knowledgeable tech agents available if assistance was needed. However, since this new "upgrade," we face issues EVERY DAY. Half the time, the software doesn't even function, and it crashes occasionally. There are so many bugs that come and go, and NO ONE seems to know what's happening. Regardless of the cost, we are definitely switching to something else.

The layout of the software is visually appealing, but that's where the positives end.
Cons
Customers who weren't on auto pay and had credit cards stored in the previous version didn't transfer over. Invoices are being emailed multiple times, and some are not being sent at all. The previous letters and invoices didn't merge into the new system. I'm really concerned about what will happen with the accounting when rent is due on the 1st of the month.

“Worst Customer Service EVER!
Pros
One of the features I appreciated about the software was the ease of applying payments and the convenience of having related functions on the same page. Unfortunately, after the upgrade, those benefits have disappeared.
Cons
Since the recent upgrade, I have a tenant showing a prepaid balance of over $1000.00, which is incorrect. Tech support has been unable to help, and they can't even provide an estimate of when it will be fixed. It's frustrating and unbelievable.

While there may be one or two useful features, the cons far outweigh the pros.
Cons
The software is full of bugs. It's called an upgrade, but it doesn't function properly. The previous version was already flawed, but this one is even worse. It's disappointing that the IT department of a large corporation like U-Haul couldn't create a better system. They're only now addressing the issues with internet explorer no longer being supported.

I appreciate the software's ability to effectively track all my units and payments for storage units. It simplifies my record-keeping tasks.
Cons

There is very little to like about this software. The only advantages I found were its affordability and the option for U-Haul to handle letter mailings at the cost of a stamp. Additionally, it can generate a few useful reports, and creating a facility site map is relatively easy. However, beyond these limited benefits, there is not much to praise.
Cons
One major issue is that each customer can only have one gate code. If a business wants separate gate codes for each employee, it's not possible or requires creating separate ghost units. Furthermore, there's no way to see the number of days a tenant is late; it only indicates if they're delinquent or in lien. U-Haul should stick to truck and trailer rental instead of this software.

Pros
The only noticeable change in the software is the updated look of the site. Other than that, there are no significant improvements.
Cons
Do you not like taking payments from customers? Would you rather stare at an endlessly loading screen? Do you prefer having minimal tools to track customers and payments? Do you love it when customer support does nothing but promise to pass the ticket to someone else without any follow up? If so, then this product is perfect for you, thanks to the April update!

“Absolute nightmare.
Pros
Since the upgrade the software has become an absolute nightmare. There is no payment history, no record of emails sent,resulting in multiple emails being sent to customers, and payment processing now takes longer. It is a terrible experience overall.
Cons
Everything about the update is a nightmare, and after 8 years, I'm canceling my subscription. Terrible customer service and problems with attempting to charge our account from February have pushed me to this decision.

“Do NOT purchase into WSS at least for the remainder of 2018
Pros
The new version of WSS has a cleaner appearance compared to the original, and it now automatically saves. However there isn't much else to mention. I'm at a loss for further positive remarks.
Cons
I've been using WSS for 5 years, fulfilling various roles like admin, trainer, and facility integrator. The original WSS had its flaws but was functional and had numerous features. However the "update" removed many essential features, and their response is always that the developers are working on it with no estimated time of completion. This forced update is extremely buggy, making it a headache to manage financial data and record payments accurately. It feels like they didn't properly test it or were pressured by top executives to release an incomplete product. I would never sacrifice functionality for a new look. The chat support and affiliate network support, which were previously helpful, are now overloaded and have long wait times. This product is currently broken, so I strongly advise staying away from it.

The software puts all the necessary information at my fingertips. I primarily use it for accounting purposes, and once I locate the required information, it proves to be helpful.
Cons
Personally I find it inconvenient to have to close each contract individually. Sometimes I forget to click the "close this record" button, leaving it open and causing annoyance for others.

“New upgrade costs heavily in time and we had to call in digi-gate to make interface work.
Pros
The controls are excellent, making it suitable for managing multiple locations. It is cost effective and can be used from remote computers. There are customer references from other locations as well.
Cons
The repeated failed upgrades and issues with the cloud interface have been frustrating. Even after a week, the system continues to download storage customers from other facilities mixed in with our own.

“Horrible. This whole upgrade" from the old version has been an absolute nightmare.
Pros
The previous version of the software was fantastic. We were satisfied with it and had been using it for years. We wish we had the option to decline the "upgrade" or at least revert to the old version, but we were not given that choice. Now we're stuck with this nightmarish product until we find the time to research and switch to a different solution. Due to the numerous bugs in WebSelfStorage, we don't have enough time for thorough research, as our day-to-day tasks and customers keep us busy. We do plan to switch eventually. The issues we've encountered include gate security problems, privacy breaches, incorrect letter printing, missing email history, incorrect ledgers, and credit transfer errors, among others. They should have extensively tested their product before releasing it. Instead, they've made their customers beta testers and subjected them to a subpar product. It was an unpleasant move on their part. The only positive aspect is that we have the option to find an alternative.
Cons
There are security concerns that I cannot disclose here due to the risk of exploitation. We're currently working on finding a fix or workaround for these issues. However, one significant security problem worth noting is the access WSS/UHAUL had to our client list and gate codes. It caused serious issues for us and required hiring a digigate expert to resolve problems caused by the new WSS upgrade. Support from WSS technical employees was lacking, and we had access to another facility's gate codes and renters' information. Although we managed to fix the issue on our end, we're uncertain if our gate codes were shared with another facility. This incident, among others, makes it clear why this software should not be used.

“We just got upgraded and it is so bad stay away at all costs
Pros
There are no benefits after the update. We were forced into this change, and I highly doubt the people behind this software have ever spent time behind a storage counter.
Cons
The software lacks intuitiveness, and simple tasks now require eight steps instead of the previous four. Additionally, reports fail to populate accurately. I'm currently exploring other software options, which I never considered before this update.
