Pros
Its ability to interface with payment processing is impressive. Additionally, it allows us to generate a wide variety of reports and is easy to navigate. The customer service is also excellent.
Cons
There were a few bugs during the launch of WebSelfStorage 2.0 but everything has been resolved now.

“Perhaps I'm a little too picky
Pros
Having the option to search using either the room number or client name makes it simple to find the right account. Saving payment types is convenient and makes payment processing easier for us and our clients. Auto pay is fantastic and I wish every client would choose this option!
Cons
I prefer minimizing mouse usage, so it would be great to have keyboard shortcuts for performing functions. When processing a payment, it would be convenient to be able to tab out of the payment amount and move to the payment type.

“Best choice I made for my new storage facility!
Pros
I am still new to WebSelfStorage but I'm quickly discovering its capabilities. The Sitemap is an excellent tool that not only helps customers find the right unit but also speeds up the move-in process at the facility. I can't praise the team enough. Their guidance has been absolutely phenomenal. As a first-time storage facility owner, I would feel lost without their help. I've had numerous questions, and they consistently offer timely, patient, and thorough explanations. What's even better is that the team is easy to reach. WebSelfStorage may seem daunting, but the team has graciously walked me through each step and quickly assisted me in getting my first customers on board. I gladly recommend them to anyone in need of support.

“Best self storage managemetn software for the money!
Pros
We have used WebSelfStorage at multiple facilities over the years and have always found it easy to use, both for managers and customers. Our accounting team also finds it user-friendly. Considering the price, we have an easy-to-use management software, extremely low credit card processing fees, a built-in tenant insurance program, and a listing on Uhaul.com. We couldn't find all these benefits in one place, especially at such an affordable price. While setting up our most recent self-storage facility on WebSelfStorage, the technical staff was incredibly helpful. Even our call center agents have praised the WebSelfStorage staff for their ease of collaboration. We highly recommend this software for independent self storage owners and operators.
Cons
They still need to work out some bugs to ensure fully functioning online rentals.

Initially I found the program intimidating, but with the help of a representative, it now seems easy. Being 73 years old, I learn better through hands on experience. The guidance provided by me and my team has been immensely helpful. Ofcourse there is always a learning curve with any new program, but I am grateful to have supportive assistance on the other end.
Cons
It takes longer to process an application. I'm sure it will become faster with time. This is only our first week using the new program. If you're planning to switch to WebSelfStorage, I recommend doing so after the 10th of the month as it will make the transition much smoother.

“Shalimar Self Storage Converts to WSS from Sitelink
Pros
"I had worked for U-Haul Moving and Storage in various positions, so I was familiar with the value of the program and the operating system. Moreover, our location was already a U-Haul Dealer, so becoming a self-storage affiliate was an obvious choice. This platform is much more affordable compared to what Sitelink used to charge us monthly for an inferior product, in my opinion. While we do pay extra for the call center, it has helped us answer tenant questions and handle payments and reservations outside of office hours. Centralized mailing has had a significant positive impact on our company. Previously, we would spend days typing up rate increase letters and auction notices, and many of them never got mailed. With WebSelfStorage, we have letter templates for common storage industry actions, which can be directly mailed to our customers at standard postage costs. It's wonderful when the whole system works together seamlessly, it reduces the hassle. The latest version is much more user friendly than before. The support we have received since signing up in June has been impressive. In the past, extended support would come at an additional cost but now we can easily contact a representative outside of our setup window."
Cons
Previously, customer support over the phone incurred charges for customers. However, with the new version of WSS, it's much easier to get answers to any questions you have. Sometimes there might be a wait if they're busy, but once you speak to a representative, they make it very simple to access their assistance when needed.

Pros
They offer a customer portal that enables users to log in and easily manage tasks such as bill payments and viewing rates.
Cons
Everything else about the software is fine, but there are multiple issues when downloading customer lists, reports, and letters, which requires hours of double-checking and corrections before I can use the downloaded information.

This software surpasses the traditional paper-based approach. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any positive feedback beyond that.
Cons
It seems like this software was intentionally designed to be difficult and unpredictable. I have experience with other self storage software and consider myself tech-savvy, but when I tried to integrate WSS with QuickBooks, it turned into a time consuming problem that was ignored even after spending hours on hold.

“Worst software Ever 2.7 rewrite

After eight long years of relying on other browsers, I'm thrilled that it is now compatible with the Chrome Browser. It has been a significant improvement.
Cons
To be honest, there are multiple aspects that I find problematic. The only improvement over the old software is its compatibility with Chrome, but it lacks intuitiveness, and move ins take twice as long. The conversion from the old system to the new one was an absolute disaster. We had to wait for four hours in a chat session just to get help with moving someone in. We've been using them for eight years because of the low cost compared to the competition, but you can only tolerate mediocrity for so long, even if it's free! The software runs slowly due to the large number of outlets using it. Today, on the 4th of the month, payments are coming in, but the software has been down all morning. I can't wait to switch to our new software with StorEdge!

“quickbooks does not work

Accessing reports and delving into customer ledgers is a breeze. The software provides an effortless way to gather essential information.
Cons
The integration with QuickBooks, which was seamless before the new platform, is incomplete. The customer support is impolite, and their responses feel rehearsed, like they're just saying "works as designed." The website claims it works with QuickBooks and Peachtree accounting software, but now I have to spend many hours doing journal entries, something I never had to do before.

While it used to function exceptionally well, the recent fixes and updates have unfortunately diminished its performance.
Cons
This program is very slow, data gets lost without reason and it seems like the information I enter gets erased randomly. The system imposes its rules instead of allowing me to operate the way I want. It's completely worthless, and I regret ever using it.

Unfortunately there was nothing positive about the upgrade. As a new facility manager, I had just become familiar with the previous version of WebSelfStorage when the upgrade completely changed the program. This resulted in significant delays, with our team spending hours waiting for assistance on live chat. I personally engaged in a live chat at 12:26 pm and even took my lunch break, but by 4:30 pm, I had yet to receive a response or acknowledgment. As a busy company that thrives on customer service, this lack of support is detrimental to our operations.

“It is broke!
Pros
Since my upgrade in May 2018 I have not found anything to like about the software. I am still struggling to overcome the numerous setbacks and issues that arose following that disastrous day. The software fails to function properly, and there are certain aspects I need to explain to the owner, but even I cannot comprehend them due to the lack of explanations from WebSelfStorage. I am fortunate that my boss has trust in me, but I recognize that not everyone shares the same luck and some may have lost their jobs due to this catastrophic mess. I had been a satisfied user of WebSelfStorage for a decade until this upgrade, but now we are seriously considering switching to an alternative solution.
Cons
I share the same sentiment about the entire program. I've been under so much stress since May 2018, and I'm reaching my breaking point. It has been broken since 2018, so I wouldn't recommend jumping into this software, at least not until it's fixed, and honestly, I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
